@Dil7 you are absolutely right. I did neglect to mention he was reaching for his father's arms. But the reason I chose not to bring it up was because this wasn't the first time he has done it. Swimming lessons are probably one of the hardest/scariest things for parents. It sucks to watch your child be scared and tired, but it also sucks seeing news articles about children drowning because they weren’t aware of the dangers that come with deep water. A lot of parents rely to heavily on the safety jackets and floaties, and don’t show/teach/explain to their children that once they are off they won’t float. This is hard to watch, but so necessary. Good job dad!
There was also this vidoe on YT where a home surveillance camara caught a toddler with a floatie around his waist at the pool... dad was only few feet away, back turned briefly. Kid takes off the floatie walks straight to the deep end of the pool and sits and slides in. Dad came to rescue shortly after. SCARY!
@Selanie Sanchez Floaties zip up the back to stop kids taking them off. If it's not put on correctly and not fitted to the child's size, then it's useless.
@@TM-tx9ct what do you mean zip up? I'm talking about the inflatable plastic thing that goes around the waist that you just pull up. Sometimes has animal heads on them for the kids to hold unto.

I don't think hes scared cause the reason kids don't drown in water is cause they don't know it's potentially dangerous so they don't panic, I think hes just tired
I love this! How often in life do we have to push through difficult things even when we are sad, scared, angry, exhausted, etc. hiding children from these things is not helpful, wht is helpful is showing them that it can be hard but we CAN do it

@@high_wave6483 Yes the boy expected to grab his fathers or instructors hand, but if you watch, as he did it he was already spinning himself around to float as seen the last time. This is one of the most important things you can teach your babies. I lost my son 10 years ago from drowning. My heart aches everyday because he didn't have this.
This is how i learned to float and swim as younglin. It saved my life when i fell into a ditch!! Bless my mother who took me to swimming lessons as a toddler. I wouldn't be here today if she didn't.
yh with a little trauma sprinkled on top 😅💀(before anyone attacks me i dont know how old the baby is looks abt 2 or 3 years old thats pretty young for him to do this, it isnt recommended)
I hope you wont be mad at your man for being the responsible one. We rely to much on floaties; my son had close call. I took him out of water soon enough but it shook me. Then realised how important are basic swimming skills. Been doing "swimming lessons" with my babies but they were not serious enough.
Fear is always present, what you must teach the child is to face it and work through it, if you don't, it will paralyze him, and he will drown, both literally and metaphorically. I salute this man and all parents that actually take the time to strengthen their kids, you're not supposed to make your child's life easy, you're supposed to make them strong enough to endure a hard one, because life is rough.
As a swim instructor, I can say this guy does a wonderful job of changing his tone of voice! You can see how the little guy trusts him and knows that he’s right there the whole time.
@@AdiosAdiosAdios no, abuse is a powerful word and whats happening here is not abuse. He is still going to drown if hes all by himself. Buuuuuuuuuut it gives a parental figure that much longer to reach him and pull him out. And thus saving his life. With continued practice he will eventually be ok on his own if it were to happen.

A very dear friend lost his 2yr old son last summer due to drowning in their pool. The patio doors were not locked, the little guy and daddy took a nap. Little man woke up, wondered around, got outside to play in the water. When our friend woke up, he found little man and it was already too late. This is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for a child. They learn to stay calm in the face of fear and danger, which can save their life. The fear the this boy has is nothing when you consider the alternative ending if he got into a pool uneducated and alone. Accidents happen, be prepared all you can.

So true! In middle school we had a pool for PE and did swim lessons. The last part of class was free time, but we had to pass a little test to be allowed in the deep end.
That’s not his dad it’s a swim instructor
There was also this vidoe on YT where a home surveillance camara caught a toddler with a floatie around his waist at the pool... dad was only few feet away, back turned briefly.
Kid takes off the floatie walks straight to the deep end of the pool and sits and slides in.
Dad came to rescue shortly after.
SCARY!
I've taught both of my kids to swim without doing this lol
@Selanie Sanchez Floaties zip up the back to stop kids taking them off. If it's not put on correctly and not fitted to the child's size, then it's useless.

@@high_wave6483 Yes the boy expected to grab his fathers or instructors hand, but if you watch, as he did it he was already spinning himself around to float as seen the last time. Although this scene breaks my heart, 💔the child was brave, and he must learn the difficulties of life
That kid has so much trust in his dad, and you can tell that even though he is scared, he knows he wont get hurt.
Edit: not dad, swim instructor
Edit Again: A lot of people are saying that he doesn't trust him because he starts crying and is visibly scared, but that's exactly my point. I am a swim instructor, and kids who don't trust you will just refuse to do anything. Even though this kid recognizes the dangerous position he is putting himself in, he knows that if anything goes wrong his instructor wil help. Thats actually why I assumed dad at first, because of how much trust there is.
This is most likely a swim instructor at this swim academy but yes the child has trust but it’s the technique the child knows that he is leaning on. My kids took this course.
that's not even his dad ....the boy is a real Spartan!
I’m curious, where do you see the trust, I just see a scared kid.
That's not their dad
@@barrichello83 If you can't see the amount of trust it takes for a kid to do that then you're a lost cause
The look on the kids face that he's terrified but knows dad is there to help him is beautiful.
It's not his dad he runs a swim school
He knows he’s terrified of his father if he doesn’t listen. 😮
He is NOT terrified!! The kid is tired. If he was terrified, he wouldn’t be in the water, let alone calm.
boolshit
Whats more beautiful, hes less likely to pantic if dads not around. Nothing is worth the sacrifice of a child
This isn’t just swimming lessons, the kid is learning to face his fears and overcome adversity. Massive W dad

@@corvusmartucci2523
You realize how common it is for toddlers to drown?
@@corvusmartucci2523my cousin never learned how to swim until he was 13. I remember growing up and if he was even splashed with water he would have a panic attack. It’s better to teach them young then when they’re teens/ adults.
@@corvusmartucci2523 12 is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too old. A child should learn how to survive drowning at this age, stop being a dumb liberal😂
That fart was nasty😂 and personal
Perfect example of a responsible parent. Kids don't yell out or scream when they fall in a pool, they go silent. Good Dad. Great job kiddo!
There is No sound when they are drowning. All adults need to be always watching. I've plucked at least 4 others ppl little kids out of the water, being closest 🤨
My boy ran out the patio door at my parents ran right behind d me, jumped in a 4. 1/2 pool. I didn't realize until my mom yelled from the house. I was in there so fast. He was only 2.
Luckily I got to him in time. I am a very alert parent. I've been called a helicopter mom.. I've been called a smother. It can happen to any parent.😢Any child..😢
My Def uncle saved my baby brother from seeing something in his perifial vision in the pool... And knew to just check to be safe. 2 different times he would have drowned if it wasn't for an adult..
Irresponsible parent. So focused on making his stupid video that he forgets to look after the child's enotional well-being.
@@mewho6199he’s not the parent he is a swim instructor
@@mewho6199 as a Dutch person I completely agree. We all here learn swimming from a young age and we aren't forced into it like that. Yes crying can happen, but this seems really strange to me.
Every child should be so lucky to have someone like this
If I was, I don't think I would enjoy swimming as much as I do now...
@@artyom2801Better than potentially drowning at the age of 3
@@YRO. Just put a guard rail or ya know... Look over your children like a fucking hawk. That's pretty much how raising a child goes as you slacken the leash as they get ever close to the golden age of independence.
Hell no this is horrible, I guess you don’t have children
@@YRO. teaching them to swim doesn’t have to be like this I have three children and they all learned how in a way that they love the water. This guy is the definition of child abuse. He doesn’t show all the videos of the kids he’s drowning teaching them like this
What a brave boy. He did it afraid. I wished I would’ve had someone to teach me as a child. Way to go! He’ll thank you for it later😀
Great to see, uncomfortable to watch maybe, but if he falls in he will be scared.....if hes not prepared could cost him his life.Part of tge training is teaching the kid not to panic, and realize hes done this many times before, excellent!!
That plop when he sets him on the ledge the first time😂. Also it's great seeing people teach things like this. All you need to do is spot the kid in case he struggles too much to where he can't get up. I'm glad to see people teach like this and where I can see how others do it so when I have kids of my own, I know how to better train them on important things like this.
I know right? One time my mom sat my sister up on the kitchen counter and took one step away and she did that right onto the kitchen floor. Just sat there and purposely fell forward, didn’t even try to catch herself. She was like 3, she should have known to put her hands out to catch herself at that age.
why does it make that sound
@@AltonTRU all of the water in his shorts probably
Thats a good thing to teach a child. Not only is it necessary, but it also teaches him to push through things that are tough that he might think he can't do alone. Good job dad!
Indeed
The way it's taught is not necessary, you can teach the kid how not to drown without making the child terrified of water.
In fact floaties are a really good way to teach the child the basic movements to swim. Much like support wheels on bikes.
@@NocturnalPyro I feel experience without training wheels is better because he actually gets the feel of it and will know how to handle it during a real situation. My mom taught me without a floatie as well and I'm grateful for it, now I don't fear the water when I don't have an instrument.
It's also possible he taught him before this with a floatie and now he's learning without it
@Nocturnal Pyro floaties are not as practical. This is a real life situation. This boy will grow up to be a man.
Lol hes a swim teacher not the dad but yes
He's a brave boy. You can tell that he doesn't want to do this but he still did it. Brave, diciplined and a good listener. This kid got a bright future ahead of him, just don't let him get influenced by all the bs going on around us these days.

Maximum respect to this man. With a pool outside this is absolutely crucial!! Everyone with a pool and a young child should have to do this. It's necessary and could quite literally save that childs life. It's about teaching them not to panic above all else and that they can stay afloat, stabilise and then look for a way out. We'll done sir! 👏

The job of a parent isn't to shield your child from Fear it's to help your child to know how to operate when they feel Fear, Thats how champions are built, best short I've seen in a while ❤
I love this comment
More parents should know this. Unfortunately so many shield their kids from so much these days. Thats so thin-skinned these days and gets offended at everything.
Thank you for teaching this child this. When I was extremely young, this was told to me by my mother, my best friend at the time died in a drowning accident. His baby brother fell onto the pool and he went in to save him and they both drowned. They were both under the age of 5.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Why are you doing this? This is scary. Wake up dad,
@@kimkennedy7977 WHAT on earth is the dad doing wrong?! He's merely teaching HIS OWN CHILD different techniques and how to swim, potentially saving his life down the road!
I'm 45 years old and cannot swim. It's embarrassing and prevents me from doing a lot of fun things with my four kids (who CAN swim). Deep water is terrifying to me; I panic and can't breathe. I would not be safe in an emergency.
All this dad is doing is teaching his son what to do to stay safe.
@@X_M3X_M3X_X dont give people false hope like that. Its cruel.
@@uolocur9356 Its not false hope. It is the Truth.
Why am I the only one that realized he farted at the end
My dad was a lifeguard when he was young. He taught his kids to swim and insisted on alot of swimming lessons when we were kids. I'm totally glad he did. I have saved 3 people in swimming incidents because I was able to stay calm and was a strong swimmer. This is SO important.
Same for me. Being in the water is my element. This kid was scared I would have been doing underwater laps. Lol
So true! In middle school we had a pool for PE and did swim lessons. The last part of class was free time, but we had to pass a little test to be allowed in the deep end. Once a kid was doing the deep end test (tread water for 10mins basically) and started to drown. The teacher didn't understand what drowning looks like, and definitely was freaking out once he realized. He froze panicing while my 13 year old self pulled a kid twice my size to the edge of the pool in deep water. Teaching your kids to recognize drowning and be good swimmers can save not just them, but also their friends. The boy thanked me for "saving his life" afterwards, it was honestly so scary, but a good experience and proof to myself that I could do something good like that even under stress. So proud of little me 🥺
@@misz3 Outstanding point. Know what drowning looks like. It still amazes me how many adults don't know how to swim.
