these guys are really too humble its dope to see. After listening to the first half Hectic and Up North Trip still havent kicked in I knew in 2 hours how significant the infamous was ... wayyy more so than illmatic
Dope discussion. Touching on the question of can something be a classic instantly, my answer is yes because the word classic simply means highest class or best of. What determines a classic is more quality than time. Of course, since art is subjective quality is in the eyes (or ears) of the beholder, hence what is considered a classic will vary between individuals.
One of my favorite Mobb deep albums “Hell On Earth” to me is a classic. It had a definitive mood and sound to it that I can’t compare anything else too, plus it holds a lot of nostalgia for me growing up.
He'll on Earth imo mobb best cd ....Infamous has mo high moments but beginning 2 end h.o.e...having a betta producer....n p def a betta emcee in '96 den '95
A classic resonates sonically and spiritually with the era and sums up the major influences of that present product.... Definitely, something could be labeled a classic instantly, because it perfectly reflects and resonates sonically, spiritually, and energetically with the majority or influential majority of the listeners and participants in that particular genre of music
Amen to this convo, its an impulsive industry and practicing classic commentary on previous material makes all of us recount the popularity or actualized talent. Sorry for all losses incurred

A classic album as soon as it drops is rare! I think Nas illmatic was classic because production limits were pushed and his lyrics but also the social background at that time were rap was at that time. The Chronic was good rap music then it is a classic now! Also, how did the album or music change the existing landscape musically speaking
The Alchemist & Oh No - TAKE DRUGS …. MASTA ACE - Take a look around …. Ice Cube - The Predator, Cypress hill - Cypress Hill . Dead Prez - Hip Hop. J Dilla - DONUTS . Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Mecca & the soul brother . Gangstarr - Step in the Arena ….🌌 on and on ….
I love hac, but Alc has all the right answers 40:11 I think hav is completely wrong, in the beginning he ain’t even know modern artist. These new artist need A&R, they need help.
talk that!! its a two sided coin that guidance is everything but also could hinder the artistic works depending on the A&R. So more importantly we need the right A&R's. because we seen labels hunting for artist just to copy a popular sound and wanting that artist to make songs that sound like the thing that's playing on the radio. So we need A&R'S and labels that has a foundation is art and business second. this is how we build great artist and a real fanbase. versus being poplar on social media but can't sale out venues. Numbers nowadays are the only thing people look at which is a problem. Talent and knowledge of music history is the way, versus someone who's just popular and have fake views , fake streams etc. That's why most artist can't perform well, don't sell out shows , and rapping over background tracks. everything so microwave now and the music nowadays shows it. Appreciate real artist who actually care about the art.
Like a graf writer, always sets out to make a masterpiece….thats part of instant classic, but you ultimately looking to out piece everything…for that art of Battle. The Infamous, hell on earth , murder music , blood money is classic mobb , but… The infamous and Hell on Earth are CLASSICS.
