Perhaps a stupid question, but why do you roll on the accented half note at A? I'm preparing this excerpt and in my copy, there isn't a roll notated there. Is this common practice? Just asking for the sake of my own preparation.
I like to use it as s mute, almost like a snare drum. It gives me a very consistent timbre of the head. I don't know of many who use it, but I like it!
Probably the only time I could “name that tune” from tambourine alone.
