I don't know why, but this particular bandish on mata bhavani, it makes me feel so emotional. Everytime i listen to it, makes me think of my mother whom I lost to cancer 4 years ago. She was a great strength in my life and I miss her terribly. The raag adana, which this bandish is in, the bhaav, the devotion and punditji's voice is just so moving. Brings tears to the eyes.
Beautiful rendition no words to express.voice is so clear as well as cream on the curd.

Such an amazing bandish penned down and composed by late H.H Maharaja Jayant Singh ji vaghela of Sanand Princely State. A music connoisseur under whom Pt. Jasraj at a very young age learned music as a Tabala player and his elder brother as a Raaj Gayak.
Late H.H. fondly called as दाढ़ी बापू composed and wrote many bandishes which Pt. Jasraj sang as a tribute to his patron H.h.
My great grandfather Tharan Bapu used to tell folk tale for six month long time. Sanand Thakor Saheb His highness used to listen him carefully. Tharan Bapu was the court poet of Vallabhini State ( Vala).

Could someone please post the lyrics to this bandish.? I would like to learn it. I am a student of hindustani classical vocal in the US and along with attending classes, I spend my time listening to great recordings of great musicians and I try to attend live concerts as well. Listening is a part of the learning process also.

sorry this is not a bhajan. This is a classical bandish in raag adana set to theenthal a sixteen beat cycle. It is in drut tempo. Drut tempo means fast tempo.
