This was an amazing 80s short quarter-munching game that get better playing with a friend or date. This game plus Golden Axe, Bad Dudes, Double Dragon were the some of the highlights of the 80s.
We had this, Golden Axe and Shinobi at our local bowling alley when I was 7. I can still smell the cigarette smoke that hung like a fog in that place. Good times playing classic arcade titles while being subjected to secondhand smoke.

We used to try to enter in codes randomly to see what happened, and this was the one and only time a random code worked. I heard the noise that it was successful and I did NOT turn my sega off for days. I can’t even remember what the code did, but it was a memorable moment

They call this game Juuouki in Japan, the arcade version is very little known when compared to the Genesis. It is better for sure, but the audio and gameplay on the Genesis is surreally good, even today.
NGL, never seen Altered Beast past stage one. Didn't know you could become a dragon, bear, tiger, and SSJ werewolf at end. Game really predates stuff like Animorphs and Bloody Roar with animal transformations! 12:50-12:54 Wait, the entire adventure was just a film set?! That's crazy Team Shinobi!
@@bujindork i never got by the 3rd stage either as a kid. Once my quarters ran out from the two bucks i got from my mom or dad it was all over. But it was cool because you knew you’d be back for more at a later date haha
Dude when I was a kid somewhere in Kansas from Gardiner through Olathe... I played this on arcade! I have so much fun playing this as a kid back when we used to actually drive somewhere to play the game but thanks to the Internet it's all changed... I remember my mom drove me a town over just so I play mortal Kombat 2 on arcade.. it wasn't in the newspaper or anything friends would spread the word and we go there and see it for ourselves rather through social media or any video of someone showvoting..😁'80s/90s kids will know what I'm at least referring to nowadays it's not the same anymore most people don't understand but they seem to get it through videos nowadays but they will never truly understand everyone's dependent on so much technology now it almost consumes us or rather it controls us but we do not control it it consumes so many people....
My son and I still play this damn game and to this day we have still never beaten it! The damn Ant level usually gets us. We made it to the final stage once, but got immediately destroyed.
I know that when I’ve had to fight oversized wolves and ghouls in my day to day a slightly irritate but half-hearted kick to the shin usually does the trick. 👍🏼
Este jogo é estranhamente bom, fiquei um pouco decepcionado por ter acabado tão rápido logo quando estava gostando. Mas depois troquei por outro jogo que conseguiu me satisfazer completamente, era longo, difícil e jogabilidade muito fluida, streets of range 3. Meu favorito.

the genesis was great the first 2 years, so many good title, and then... the SNES came as a challenger and became the king of the console, the snes was just superior, i loved my genesis thought but the snes was just a better console
To think we used to pay $50 for a game that took 15 minutes to complete. These gamers today complain about paying $70 for games that take at least 100 hours to complete.
