Very well done, Ochanji! Very exciting and encouraging to see you revive the property toward completion. Your life and boldness is inspiring 👏👍The best way to protect land is through land use. Malicious opportunists are always hovering about.
This made my heart heavy. As a fellow African woman, I've been so encouraged watching your vdeos. Discovered you today and binge watched so many of your videos. Seeing what you've been able to accomplish already tells me that you will most certaily bounce back strong from this. You're a strong woman. I wouldn't have been able to control my tears. I hope whoever did this pays dearly for this. They may have done it in secret, but I pray their just reward is done in the open. I wish you well Sis.
That is good to hear. Usually these culprits get away unpunished. Surely, who burns trees? And I’m sure it was not for firewood or charcoal. I know you are winning because I’m watching your videos backwards. I’ve already seen from previous videos how beautiful and lush your compound is. Keep up the great work.
I just found your Channel and Subscribed. I sat and watched a few of your uploads and thought to myself how I haven't experienced anything THIS Zen in quite some time. Your vlogs are Beautiful as are also you, your Spirit, Resilience, and your Home/Village. I am very disheartened to see that this has been happening to you but as we know The Devil Stays Busy. What a Shame that a Hard-working Peaceful Human Being such as yourself has to go thru this via Jealous, Trash (and most likely Misogynistic) Thugs, But God Does Not Like Ugly. Thank the Lord for your Neighbor; and you know, Neighbors care about eachother and help oneanother out; this is how it SHOULD be. You are a Fighter and you have not come this far to be Undermined no matter how hard they try. Peace & Blessings my dear: Keep Pressing On as I know you will. Thank You for Sharing Your Life-the Ups AND THE DOWNS-with us. Pulling & Praying for You Always.💜
Jael, I admire your strong will and hard work. Your home is going to be beautiful. Please do wear gloves to protect your hands. I hope you do not have any more problems from those horrid people.
Found your channel recently and have only watched a few of your videos so I don't know any details here, but what a big beautiful piece of land and a seemingly big house! I am sorry you were vandalized, but it made me so happy to see that several burnt palms still had healthy looking new spikes in the middle... I bet they will bounce back! I have hope for your pomegranate and another tree that seemed to have new growth, too! I would give your pomegranate a good hard pruning back and if you can, a heavy layer of mulch or compost. Fire is a natural part of nature and it is amazing how resilient plants can be! I bet your grass grows back even better anywhere it was burned. I noticed when planting your new trees, you seemed to put them in lower than ground level. Is that a standard practice in your region? I would use the soil I dug out of the hole to make sure my trees get planted a bit higher, more level to the ground. But it's just a suggestion for future plantings. Maybe you do that so they catch and hold more water when it rains? I did love seeing it start raining right after you planted... just perfect! Like a little blessing from the heavens for your endeavors! Lastly, is that house in good enough shape to live in? Because if you aren't able to be there for long periods of time, would you ever consider getting a work trader / care taker to stay there to keep the place safer? I've lived as a work trader and property care taker for over 11 years in Hawai'i because it's not safe to have land here and leave it vacant.. you will get vandals or dumping or worse... thieves or squatters. So there are many people who own second property here that use a work trader to live on their land and do work to trade for their room or sleeping hale. I have my own cabin separate from the owners house but since they can only be here every 3 to 4 months, I'm here full time to keep it secure, do the mowing and gardening and care for our goats and fish. Obviously it takes someone honest and fair and willing to do the work trade hours but it's just an idea, especially if you're away from your land for extended periods and the place has a usable living space. Sorry for the long comment. I'll have to go check your channel to see if you've done an update on your trees since this video a few months ago. I'd love to see how any survivors are doing! 🌈 Aloha 🌱
No worries about the long comments, I really love the interactions with my audience. The trees are back to life except for the 2 bottle brush trees which are completely dry on one side. I might have to cut them down and plant new ones. Thank you for checking in and fir your lovely comment. I will get a care taker soon to look after the property. Blessings
@@jaelofthevillage Wow, thank you for your reply. I'm so glad you have some survivors. I knew it! Good on your neighbors or whoever put out the fires. That surely made the difference. And it's nice to know for every trouble maker in the world, there's always someone who will help, too. 👉🏼❤️👈🏾

The crab in a barrel poverty proverb, that any crab that tries to crawl out of the poverty barrel will be dragged back in by the other crabs. If short sighted people prevent their neighbors from succeeding, they prevent themselves, because a successful neighbor might bring income into the neighborhood by providing jobs that weren’t there before.

Sorry to see this happening after you've put in so much work and resources. Try a key apple fence. It grows thick and gives privacy to the home. The thorns put off intruders.
Rachel this vandalism happened to my mom too ! It is so disheartening, but we stomped it with full force and had people arrested and jailed . People need to respect boundaries and women at that ! Some tried to move the farm boundary !? Do you know we had to get the lands department out again to come and demarcate the farm again as some neighbors were encroaching on our land ! People are just so malicious . So in essence we do not play with people around . We are nice but if you try us ! We come down on you . The intimidation and bullying of widows and women is just out of hand .
Jael, I am sad to say this but this is so common with 'our' people. They just can't imagine seeing a woman with property larger than theirs and more developed. I wonder if people from other parts of the country face this kind of 'behaviour'
Jael, i am really sorry over what happened to you. I have planted those ornamental tree's in my home, they're pretty expensive. Even some go at high as 20k per tree
You should build a 10feet wall fence around your property so no one will use it as a clothes line, or gain entrance or animals gaining entrance to your property. Also, use a chain and padlock to lock your property. That’s protection for yourself and property, Good luck.

Yawa Nyamin mos Yawa! This is crazy. To think just yesterday I was saying how Luo traditions are changing thank you for your resilience they will accept us whether they like it or not. To my internationals in the comment section this is more cultural related than anything we don't go burning people's homes in rural Kenya. This community traditionally did not believe in women owning land by themselves they would never have touched land owned by a man. Land ownership in your ancestral land as a woman was a no no so these were just tactics to scare her off the land because some people are still stuck in the 18th century with their mindset. Thankfully the government ruled that women were free to inherit land in their ancestral homes so a lot is changing and progressive fathers are allocating land to their daughters and legal action taken against perpetrators. Slowly but surely change is here.
Ahhh!!! I see. Thank you for educating us on this. You have cleared up so many doubts that I was beginning to have about crime in rural Kenya. There are always those who try to suppress the role of our women in societies. Even Christ's followers exerted efforts to downpress the prominent women who followed him!! Yet our women are the nurturers and perpetrators of the civilization! So unfortunate!
Lesson for you sista never leave your house with no one in it. You can find a local family living in a tiny house and let them stay in your house for free and look after house and in return once you finish building the house you can make a little house in the corner for them and give them a job maybe wife can cook and clean man do yard work and that will allow them to have money and send their kids to school trust me done it before in the Caribbean and we all Africans sista .
U can but Africans can be evil, especially when u are a woman. They will do juju on you to leave d house u ve worked for them. It's best to get a private security firm or cctv & alarm. Stay stron, sister. Am trying to emulate , but I don't know where to start.
Hello Jael am a silent follower am 😊commenting because am so shocked with what they did to you. I hope the village elders educate the locals on respect of other peoples property. Am also in the village but in our place no one can dare go to another persons property even your own sibling because of our strict culture. Am from Nandi. I pray that the distraction will never happen again. God bless you and be with you always.
That is so sad. Consider putting up a stone wall, that is the only solution. I have ended up doing so, and I am now putting up a boy's quarters so that we can have someone staying on site. That person who burnt those trees 😢😠
I’m not saying you do this, this how someone I know deals with the cows trespassing in to his property. He comes and sets them loose. The cows will definitely end up in some other person’s farm. From there, owner of the farm and the owner of the cattle will duke it out!
This is gut wrenching. After all that hard work someone burns it down!Like for what reason seriously? Awuoro ich lit jirani. Fight mummy for what is rightful yours. Don't give them the pleasure of being treated unfairly just because you are a woman. So sorry, praying for you mummy.
So sorry to hear or see some people still think that being a woman you are not entitoled to own a property. Jael just keep on doing what is good for you since it your efforts and money.let no one intimidate you. Say no to haters.
Trip wire your property with alarm siren, bright lights! Kliegel! Cameras. Motion activated lights! AndWasp,Spray, Bear Spray! A bag of ashes to throw inntheir face near all doors! They have small alarms for windows that stick on,very easy! Start a GoFundMe! Sending Love & Light! Peace💙🙏
@@jaelofthevillage Unless the same person has been doing what he did on your compound time and again i think taking the cows to the Police was extreme. you would have simply detained the cows until the owner comes to you then you warn him verbally and in person. I am also from Nyanza and i also experience the same but it boils down to the way you handle those intrusions. that's the wisdom of co-existing peacefully with neighbours
Jael I have been following you quietly, but today I'm so saddened by the fact that there is a malicious person /enemy out there who is hell bent on destroying your property. May God deliver you from these evil wicked persons, and May he also protect you and your property.

Thanks jaber for clarifying this. Some were already accusing me of being a bad neighbour in a place I have never lived. ❤️
Ahhh!!!
May God forgive the person who set the fire, what heart
He is forgiven. It is well
If I'm not mistaken he mix cement with dirt
Sand and ballast
Oh no... The way this lady works so hard... 😢😢😢 thunder fire to those who did this
Their punishment will come from above. I pray that they are forgiven for what they did.
The cows and a random goat 😮
😅
The person that lit the fire, hope they feel the same heat in time to come
They were forgiven. They said it was an accident.
What part of Africa are you from. I’m new to watching your video and they are so relaxing and peaceful to me.
I live in Kenya-Africa
Stay positive, be patient and have faith. God will restore everything. God takes vengeance so be still and let him take control.
🙏🙏
This must be in Luhya land or Kisii land. Pole sana.
Unfortunately it's Luoland
God has seen you through. Love your house too.@@jaelofthevillage
Thank you, lovely. The law served its purpose and looks like there's respect now. Hopefully there will always be . Blessings
Who set your compound on fire?
A neighbour accidentally did.
Oh no pole.i hope the culprits were arrested
Yes,he was
Soo sad ,but may I ask ,you have two different places you are leaving in or what
This project is still under construction.
That is so sad. Consider putting up a stone wall, that is the only solution. I have ended up doing so, and I am now putting up a boy's quarters so that we can have someone staying on site. That person who burnt those trees 😢😠
Thanks urban Bee. Planning to have someone living on site. My trees😭😭
I’m not saying you do this, this how someone I know deals with the cows trespassing in to his property. He comes and sets them loose. The cows will definitely end up in some other person’s farm. From there, owner of the farm and the owner of the cattle will duke it out!
🤣🤣🤣War
This is unfair. Am proud of you mum
This is gut wrenching. After all that hard work someone burns it down!Like for what reason seriously? Awuoro ich lit jirani. Fight mummy for what is rightful yours. Don't give them the pleasure of being treated unfairly just because you are a woman. So sorry, praying for you mummy.
Thank you Dorcas, I will fight jaber. Bless you always ❤️
So sorry to hear or see some people still think that being a woman you are not entitoled to own a property. Jael just keep on doing what is good for you since it your efforts and money.let no one intimidate you. Say no to haters.
Thanks Samson. All is well now.
This is sad but God will lift you up once again
Amen
Am really sorry. I know how it feels. Their is a day our plants were eaten by animals and no action was taken. No giving up💪
The pain of nurturing your plants to different stages then someone/something just destroys it,it hurts so bad. We are not giving up though. ❤️
You need to build a strong fence eith blocks.
Planning to do that someday
This is sad, but thank God you succeed. Women are humans too
It is well
I am so sorry. I hope this was not deliberate. You will bounce back
The fire was an accident but the vandalism of course was deliberate. I'm over it darling. Thanks
Trip wire your property with alarm siren, bright lights! Kliegel! Cameras. Motion activated lights! AndWasp,Spray, Bear Spray! A bag of ashes to throw inntheir face near all doors! They have small alarms for windows that stick on,very easy! Start a GoFundMe! Sending Love & Light! Peace💙🙏
Thanks Pam
why you don't have a wall up or security cameras?
The project is not complete yet
I'm really sorry, but look forward. It says Jenya but you sound Ugandan. Your place will even be better. Don't give up. Go forward
Why did they burn down your house?
Turns out it was an accident
@@jaelofthevillage pole, you had scared me.i dream of owning a piece of land there
That pole was rotten and even the fixing or repair of the same pole was wanting
Okay
@@jaelofthevillage Unless the same person has been doing what he did on your compound time and again i think taking the cows to the Police was extreme. you would have simply detained the cows until the owner comes to you then you warn him verbally and in person. I am also from Nyanza and i also experience the same but it boils down to the way you handle those intrusions. that's the wisdom of co-existing peacefully with neighbours
You see this is what am scared of 😢
Weeh, pole. That's wickedness
Thank you
Thank you
Pole jaber l hope all those involved will be brought to book. 😢
Thank you Sue. Arrests were made.
@@jaelofthevillage that is the way to deal with such. Mos ainya.
Saitan !!!!!!!!!! Some people are just evil.
😅😅 thank God they didn't get away with it.
this is me may dream come true
Talk to promito or Ngugi wa Karanja, they can finish the house and fence for you
Where can I find them?
Sad indeed but don't be discouraged the lord is on your side
🙏🙏it is well
people are evil but keep up the spirit
Giving up is not an option
Get Cameras they are cheap these days. Put up signs that you have camera recording. Protect yourself and what you've worked hard for.
Yeah, once I'm done with the construction I'll install cctv
