This is a comment in which I make myself vulnerable. I hope you all will understand my situation. First of all, I should note that I slowly but surely don't have enough time to properly concentrate on TH-cam anymore. I'm in my 20's and when you reach that age, you have other things to prioritize and unfortunately, you have to push many things aside that you're passionate about. I wanna make it clear that I absolutely love this community and that I do not plan to ever fully stop doing TH-cam videos, but I do wanna preface that regular uploads are an impossibility from now on. Time is running out and when you work regular 9 to 5, you just don't have the energy to work on projects actively. During the production of this video, I realized how I was losing fun by applying pressure to myself to get this video out as quickly as possible, just so that you guys don't have to wait ages for a new upload - I have badly witnessed how it feels to suffer through creative burnout. While I do feel excruciatingly guilty for not providing you with new content on a regular basis, I just can't put myself through such torture. I wanna be honest and transparent to you all and unfortunately I have to tell you that in real life I am absolutely not doing well mentally. I have been through a lot in my life and unfortunately, it still doesn't stop and only continues to worsen. No matter what I do, I always end up at an even darker place despite it not being my fault. Being mentally unstable of course also hinders me greatly to produce the videos I want. I have also been thinking about other content I wanted to produce. Not just on this channel, but on a brand new and more personal one. As I have been through a lot, I would like to help others who have been through similar. There is nothing that can be done in my case, but perhaps I can help other people before it's too late. If I ever decide to follow through with this plan and focus on my new channel instead, I will let you know. I really can't see myself doing Thomas Content forever, but we'll see what time will tell. Whatever happens, I can assure you that I will not leave this community - even if someday I'll only become a quiet Fandom member. The fact that all of you are so patient for new videos is astounding - if there's one thing guaranteed as a ThomasTuber, it's undoubted loyalty from your community. I appreciate all of you for taking your time to read all this. It's been a lot, but I thought it necessary to inaugurate you all, because you are my community after all and deserve to know how things are going on. I am truly sorry for the lack of content on this channel, but if I gain motivation to work on other projects, I will continue to upload videos. Blessing - Zach
I’m feeling most of these feelings right now too but I learned something from this, it’s okay to take your time on things and be exhausted on working on something no matter how big it is and I massively appreciate your content and sharing your honest thoughts instead of just quitting TH-cam without a word said
I totally get those feelings, thanks for not being afraid to share it with us but if you ever do want to make another video here I have a personal suggestion if it’s not too much work for you, maybe a combination of model and cgi series maps and if that is too much that’s totally fine
Even though the Brenner era is better in terms of writing, the Nitrogen era at least had more variety with rolling stock as time went on! I agree with you on that!
I definitely agree with your take about the Nitrogen animation, I hadn’t really thought about it before but I totally see what you’re saying and I think you’re right
I agree in Edward, its okay to have him flawed as long its reasonable, there was this fan rewrite from Brendam production of the Edward strikes out that show Edward flaw rather well, and beautiful ending and morale. So i agree, Edward can be flawed, if written right, it can be a good story material.
6:30 Personally I always interpreted it that the narrator was speaking from Percy’s point of view, who is under the impression that Gator is staying on the island, not knowing about Gator’s ship just being delayed and helping the railway while he’s waiting on the next ship to come. This is backed up by Gator mentioning this not too long later, at the end of the ‘Our Tale of the Brave’ scene.
35:15 Glad there are others who see that the Model Series & CGI Series are basically separate continuities. The other reason why that's the case is the simple fact that half of the locations from the Model Series never reappear in the CGI Series, and then there's just engines like Stepney, Duke, Neville and various other Model Series exclusives who never made a return. There were many opportunities to bring back characters like BoCo, but they squandered it. Two unpopular opinions: 1. I hate that Emily now has a number. It just felt so forced, and Emily not having a number made her feel special. 2. SLOTLT should have been an Oliver story. I made a rewrite draft to SLOTLT using Oliver in Thomas' place, and while it wasn't a perfect rewrite, I feel like the story itself could have worked with Oliver if it was set after his return and splitting Scruffy apart.
6:42 About that part. I think it's meant to get across that Percy thinks Gator works on Sodor, which he doesn't of course, but Percy doesn't know that.
#3 - agree #5 - *Yes! Finally! Thank You!* #9 - I don’t love every book he wrote; both of Chris’ Skarloey books, Wilbert, the 50th anniversary book and Victoria are particularly skippable. #10 - because of those numerous technicalities, I too consider Models and CGI separate canons!
#1 - I do wonder what the adventure begins would be like had it been animated by nitrogen studios. #2 - that's true. #3 - true to a certain extent #4 - agree & disagree #5 - her hit era persona is better in my opinion #6 - agree (though sometimes it depends) #7 - disagree (there is a rewrite to the episode that I kinda like thou) #8 - slowly agreeing (there's also his impatience showcased in Edwards Day out and Berties Chase) #9 - exactly; especially Thomas and the twins and Jock the new engine #10 - you're not the first one to believe this and rightfully so.
Hank had loads of potential. 1. The US fully switched over to diesel a decade before the UK, so he could've comforted the Sodor engines 2. The PRR K4 (Hank's bases) served as the basis for the LNER A1's Boiler, so there's the connection to Gordon 3. The K4 is stronger than the 9F, so a story with Hank and Murdoch 4. Hank and Connor are from the largest rival railroads in US History
Sir Robert Norramby is one of my favorite human characters in Thomas. He's got so much potential for good fan made stories. I think I might write a storie about him rescuing abandoned engines. I think I might choose Colin, Lilly, and Adam.
0:01 Look. This is something I agree with, the nitrogen studios is animation is the best and blue mountain mystery is my favourite movie which is from the nitrogen studios production that I love.
IMO Freddie is the best hit era character, here why: 1. He has a good design: pretty self explanatory 2. His history: in an era where continuity isn’t really a thing Freddie adds some lore to the mid Sodor as he knows sir Handel but not Skarloey or Rheneas 3. His personality: he is a very unique type of character for one he is old but not necessarily wise as he’s shown to take shortcuts in fearless Freddie and he seems to cope his age and wants to keep a status among the others as fearless so he doesn’t ask for help and does things independently in Ding a ling and the party Suprise which adds lots of layers to his character and could have the potiential for an awesome character arc but the show crew never brought him into cgi so that never came to fruition. In conclusion, Freddie is the best hit era newbie for all these reasons
Unpopular opinion of mine: The Great Race is an awful abomination. This fever dream of a movie does not do a nice job of executing its concept. Everything feels forced and thrown awkwardly together such as commercial stunts, irrelevant subplots, lackluster songs and Thomas’ arc feels totally worthless and unwarranted. Absolutely one of the worst Thomas specials of the franchise.
I cannot understand how this is an unpopular opinion. I don't think that this film is loved by anyone in the Fandom, but simultaneously, nobody gives it the hate it deserves. While I do have many issues with this film, such as the absolute whackiness and lack of physics, pointless, drawn out drama, repetitiveness - ergo lack of originality - and the lack of pay offs to some of the setups, I don't even think that this is the worst thing about it. All of that really puts the film down, but I think my biggest gripe with it is that it is completely irrelevant for this franchise. Literally nothing that happens in this film ever matters. It doesn't matter that Thomas met all the international characters in the special, because it wouldn't have really changed anything for BW!BA! if Thomas wouldn't have known who those guys are. Nothing that happens in this film is a mainstay in any way or brings a new status quo change to the franchise. The fact that films even worse than TGR have integrity to some extent really shows how this film was not well thought out in any way and was just a stupid extended marketing special and nothing more; henceforth, it's completely soulless. Here are some integrity examples from the other weak CGI Specials the show has to offer: MIR: Yes, even the worst film ever has integrity. No, Misty Island and the Logging Locos don't count, because they have been completely irrelevant once Mattel have taken over, but the Rescue Centre is a mainstay for the remainder of the CGI Series. DOTD: While I do not like the concept one bit, at the very least we got the Dieselworks, which again, is a mainstay for the remainder of the CGI Series. Belle and Flynn were also introduced in this special and are permanently located at the Rescue Centre. BW!BA!: Nia, I guess? This is by far the worst thing to come out of the Brenner Era and the only production of it that i truly despise. I don't love JBS and I have my issues with SLOTLT and a few episodes per season, but this absolutely takes the crown.
@@ZachIsland You got some good points there, Zach. This other opinion of mine may sound unpopular, but I prefer Misty Island Rescue over The Great Race. Don’t get me wrong, I also despise MIR as well but at least it has a more straightforward plot without overshadowing subplots unlike TGR.
I do basically agree, except for the part about the songs. I would say that the songs are anything but lackluster. They are quite catchy and memorable.
Yeah, too many retcons and out of character moments for the CGI series to be canon. At least, AEG, as bad as it is, knows that it's its own universe. The CGI series just can't seem to make its damn mind up! 🤦♂️
My unpopular opinion is that the hit model era and the brenner era are on a similar level of quality, because: 1: the main characters were, overall, better written in the hit era, as I would say that Gordon, james, Emily and Henry were well written in the hit era ( and even others, like Thomas, had their moments), whereas I would say only Edward, James and Percy ( to an extent) were well written. 2: the model work was still very impressive and of high quality during the hit era, and could often make a weak episode more enjoyable. For example, Percy and the magic carpet, from season 8, isn’t that great of an episode, but, I would say it is pretty good, because of the special effects used for the carpet, which make the episode stand out. On the other hand, this defence doesn’t exist for the brenner era. For example, Emily saves the world, from season 18, is also a fairly silly episode, but as it is cgi, the episode does not stand out as much, and the audience will notice the flaws in the writing more than in the former example. 3: the brenner era was, like the hit era, also not devoid of weak episodes. For some examples: steamy Stafford, Emily saves the world, all of the Sampson episodes, Henry spots trouble, three steam engines gruff, Phillip’s number, a shed for Edward ect… In conclusion, while the hit era was not great, I would argue that it is not that bad, and that many of its issues are also in the brenner era. I’m probably biased in my conclusion, as I grew up with the hit model seasons, but I would also still argue that they all have value (except season 12), and while I don’t think the brenner era is bad, it is not void of serious issues despite also having many great attributes. I would probably say the brenner era is better, but I would say that it is pretty close between the two.
I'm going to regret this one but I honestly don't care. Season 8 is part of the classic series and Calling All Engines is the end of the Era. The steam Engines make amends with the diesels at the end so I like to believe the rest of model thomas is it's own Canon and the classic Era ends with the movie. That's just my opinion though so please don't hurt me.
Here's my unpopular opinion that a lot of people are going to hate me for. I love The Engine Roll Call as much as the classic iconic theme tune that's been around since the show began.
3:56 Phillip and Charlie speak for themselves. I actually like Phillip, other than Paxton, and Luke, he's probably my fav CGI Newbie. And Charlie is alright in my opinion. But my god, both of them are severely overhated. People acting like they killed their families or something😭😭(I know it said underappreciated characters, but I kinda feel like both of them are kinda underappreciated, leaning more towards the hated side)
Also another: I feel like RWS Gordon doesn't really have this series-long arc as people say he does. Let me explain: 1) In "Triple Header", Gordon hints that he is "out of breath", and that is solely because he needed new tubes, not because "his age is catching up to him". 2) Gordon acts arrogant as usual in "HSE" and even worries about Topham's soiled hat, not being sent away for scrap because "age". He is a bit more humble after this though. 3) The real reason Topham retires him from Express duties is because "Too much time is being wasted by changing the engine of the Express on the Other Railway. Our timetable is slow." Gordon still strongly believes and insists that proper engines are steam engines. Gordon not really having this series long "arc" doesn't mean he is no longer a good character. In fact, the charm of his personality is still there and by far the best part of his character imo. I feel like people in the fandom tend to treat Gordon more seriously when bringing up this subject and are truly missing out on the charm and delight of his character, but that's just based on my own knowledge.
For Opinion №6 I think Thomas and Percy took a page out of Toby's book and decided to be agents of chaos like him. Also, glad to see I'm not the only one who sees Henry gradually becoming nicer.
Here are my Top 10 Unpopular Opinions 10.) All the Girls Around the World is a bad song. 9.) I like Bash and Dash. 8.) The All Engines Go Motorized and Push Along toys are better than the CGI ones. 7.) Hornby is better than Bachmann 6.) BWBA is the absolute worst Era of Thomas in history. 5.) Carly's All Engines Go design is better than her Original Series design. 4.) Edward Strikes Out is an alright episode. 3.) All Engines Go is overhated. 2.) Seasons 8-13 and Season 16 are underrated. 1.) Don't be Silly, Billy is my all time favourite episode.
HiT Era Emily is absolutely garbage. I don't have a problem with her being bossy, but with her being arrogant and "know it all", that's just not Emily.
here’s an unpopular opinion of my own: I prefer robert hartshorne over mike o’donnel. don’t get me wrong mike o’donnel is great and his music is undoubtedly brilliant and just magnificent, how ever I prefer robert hartshorne for a few reasons. 1: I was born in 2007 meaning I grew up watching the hit era, despite realizing the hit era is not quite an enjoyable experience now that I’m older the music still holds a spot of my childhood. 2: hartshorne literally had to recompose the entirety of season 7 and some of season 6 just so hit entertainment could air them in between seasons 8 and 9 and I feel that is some hard work that is rather under appreciated. 3: though not all of the scores are great like the skarloey railway themes for example most of his scores in my opinion are good if that great, the scores that I think stand out the most are thomas’ theme, gordon’s theme, donald and douglas’ theme, the chase theme from the runaway elephant and just about the entire score for the great discovery.
1: I agree 2: Thats why I like the show as a whole 3: They are good for what they are 4: I don't value one over the other 5: It depends on how you look at her 6: same with emily 7: MINORITY???!!!!! JUST LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO OUR EDWARD OUR BULGY'S BRIDGE OUR AND HARVEY IS A NOBODY for this episode only. 8: I mean sue but just it needs some tuning 9:I mean for slice of life 10: my theory is sodor fallout messed with the engines memory
My opinion is that I prefer the original version of Magic Railroad with P.T. Boomer because the final version is overrated. If Diesel 10 had been on Sodor before, why would Sir Topham Hatt have let him return?! It makes no sense! Burnett telling Patch about Diesel 10 as an "evil diesel" in the final cut makes Burnett look crazy. Burnett and Diesel 10 never interacted for the entire movie! Burnett says Diesel 10 crashed Lady, how did he when Burnett literally said he made her go too FAST? And then it cuts to the scene with Diesel 10 telling Splatter and Dodge that Lady escaped from him. What?! How?! And then there's the chase when Burnett says, "Because the magic you REFUSE TO BELIEVE IN, will get the better of you!" Diesel 10 did believe in the magic! He was supposed to be telling that to Boomer! I hate the final cut version, it had more to do with magic and Mr. Conductor instead of saying to scrap all the steam engines so diesels can take over. And what's with his voice in the final cut? It's too cartoony and too American for a British-built diesel. The original cut with Keith Scott voicing him sounds way better and British. And say what you want about P.T. Boomer because I think he was pretty good as a villain. We always get Diesels wanting to scrap a steam engine but never a human wanting to scrap a steam engine. I believe Boomer would've been Lily's motivation to go with Junior to Sodor since she saw him twice looking like he was up to no good, which he was.
@@Gordonjamesheneryproductions Sir Topham Hatt literally told Mr. Conductor to "watch out for Diesel". So, if Sir Topham Hatt knew, he should immediately postpone his holiday and keep Diesel 10 away from Sodor!
I managed to grow up with both classic and cgi eras of thomas, and something i dont see many people say is how downsized cgi thomas is, like im not the only one that noticed how ridiculously small thomas became right??
Unpopular opinion (I think): the Bachman Thomas is the most boring Bachman Thomas and friends model of all, and usually (at least for me,) it tends to run rather poorly on older style layouts because of how light it is. (I’m serious. I tried to mod one with extra weights, and it still doesn’t work. Meantime the other engines like Edward, James, and the big engines all run beautifully.)
My unpopular opinion: Thomas And The Magic Railroad wasn’t all that bad! I think it’s a good film for what it was going for, for a concept about Magic, Lady was a great female character and I really loved her design and personality and also Diesel 10 was at his all time best in the movie!
There are just a few unpopular Thomas opinions I have, but here they are: 1. Love Me Tender is an overrated episode. 2. Thomas should be in the hands of an Independant Company (British or Japanese), not w/ corporation meddling companies like Hasbro, Mattel, etc. 3. The Runaway < Better Late Than Never. 4. Road vs Rail > Steam vs. Diesels (and should’ve gotten its own movie).
Hi Zach. Hope you don’t mind if I drop another unpopular opinion here. 12:41 I do agree with you that Duck is much better than Oliver in terms of consistency and character development, and that Oliver lacks any depth in the CGI series. But CGI Oliver being only flanderized and one dimensional, I have to disagree with you. Is being boastful and doubtful the only thing to Oliver’s CGI portrayal, I don’t think so. In various CGI episodes, we see Oliver’s friendship with Duck blossoming. In fact, the two rarely interact together in the model series, and their interactions are played with more in CGI even if it’s just for fan service. In Blown Away, I love how they both belittle Skiff at first, and later respect him for his heroism. And in The Way She Does It, I also love how they are left speechless by Daisy’s bragging. With all that said, both Duck and Oliver are my favorite characters, but Duck outmatches Oliver by a wide margin.
@@thetttefanwithlegos2992 Hi Khor, Thank you for your comment. My point was that CGI did the least with Oliver and stuck to the status quo for the most part. There are good Oliver moments to be found in CGI, (still a shame we didn’t get Oliver’s Fear of Fireworks) but RWS and especially Model Series outweigh it by a wide margin. Though I have to mention that Oliver was by no means as flanderised as other characters were. Thanks for sticking around man, I hope we will hear from one another again in December. - Zach
That was very nice. I do agree with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. The others I respect your opinion and Neville as well. I never read the Awardy books so I don’t have an opinion. I always preferred Duck over Oliver. I do feel bad that I used to criticize Emily’s portrayal in Hit Era, even in Calling All Engine, when she was in the same situation Murdoch was in, in Peace And Quiet. All because I had to listen to those immature and toxic man and woman child in Social Media. Which is one of the reasons why I hate Social Media. I have four unpopular opinions. Rebecca is a good and funny character. Thomas And The Magic Railroad is the second Thomas movie. Toby is better in the Brenner Era because it shows his more human side by being scared and insecure of stuff anyone especially his age would be except Signals Crossed, while still being the voice of reason and his relationship with Henrietta is very nice. Toby is definitely one of the best characters. The Brenner Era has better Christmas episodes like Last Train For Christmas the best Thomas Christmas episode, Perfect Gift, Diesel’s Ghosty Christmas, and Santa’s Letters.
Okay, here are my 4 unpopular opinions. -Season 5 seems to me to be anything but Thomas' best season, in fact I don't even consider it a great thing Before any purist fan of the classic Thomas era wants to kill me, let me explain why I'm saying this. Many fans wanted to sell it to me as if it were Second Avenue of Christ, the best of the best of Thomas... and when I watched it in full a few days ago... I didn't find the supposedly "INCREDIBLE" Season 5. In fact, this season has things that I hated enormously, Gordon became an unbearable jerk to the max and by far the worst season of the character in the model era for me I also really hated the daytime lighting in season 5... bro the lighting was just horrible (And no, the fact that it was meant to be more cinematic is no excuse) Y en episodios a lo mucho como 10-12 me gustaron....de resto o los considero meh o mediocres And in episodes at most like 10-12 I liked....the rest I consider them meh or mediocre In fact, season 5 is so far away from me that it is the season of Thomas that I watch the least...at most I watched it about 9-12 times I am not saying that the season is bad or crap...but simply season 5 is the season of Thomas that I would say...it is simply not that good 2- I prefer the Gullane and Hit eras more than the Classic era Yes, I know the hit era has a lot of problems and had quite a few mistakes... but man, the Peaks and best moments of the hit era just seem better to me than the classic era, the lighting, scenery and views always remained consistent in quality (at least seasons 8-10) In the classic era you either had amazing lighting and aesthetics (Seasons 3-4) or you had shitty lighting and aesthetics (seasons 2 and 5) Not to mention that many of my favorite episodes from the model era are here -Thomas saves the day -Squeak, creak and roll -The Great Edward -All the Henry episodes (except Henry's mistake) -The Emily episodes -Don't tell Thomas -Percy's Big Mistake -You can Toby -Duncan and the old mine -The James episodes -Molly's special (I think it's already You understand what I mean x"D) And with Gullane, man, watching those seasons for yourself and seeing that they are great and amazing seasons without having to copy the general opinion of the fandom is great (and by copy I mean when certain people just repeat what the big Thomas youtuber on duty said) In fact, unlike Hit, I consider that Gullane doesn't have any bad episodes (even its worst episodes are mediocre or forgettable at best) and its Peaks and best moments... ufffff incredible Unlike the classic era, which has some episodes that I do consider bad (especially certain episodes from season 5) 3- People who keep complaining about Reebot are simply pathetic One thing is that you don't like AEG, that's respectable...but another thing is saying that people who like AEG aren't fans of Thomas or even saying that those who like AEG are autistic.......it's a huge difference And the most annoying thing about this matter is that most of the people who criticize AEG are BLESSED ADULTS OF 20-30 YEARS OLD FOR JESUS CHRIST..... And I'll make it clear once and for all, no, I'm not a fan of AEG (I'm neutral with Reebot and I prefer to stay that way) but I hate this kind of fans who only spend their time annoying and complaining about a Reebot that they'll never see in their life (Funny that Thomas is supposed to be a series that teaches you lessons and 80% of the fandom doesn't give a damn about the lessons lol) 4- The exaggerated realism in Thomas bores me a lot I'll say it right away, I never liked a fully realistic Thomas before or now... honestly I find it very boring And before the typical "NOOOOOO IT'S THAT REALISM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THOMAS, NO YOU'RE NOT A FAN IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT" comes Let me tell the one reading this, that I don't even consider realism the most important thing in Thomas Was it something that made him stand out? Yes The most important thing? No What was important to me in Thomas were the stories that many could identify with or empathize with the characters, the development and how they grew or changed, their charisma and personality, incredible stories either because of their simplicity or how complex they are and the lessons and messages they gave you That's what I always considered the most important thing in Thomas... not if a locomotive doesn't have a 100% realistic crash (Let's be honest, not even the classic series is 100% realistic) That's why I love things like TATMR in concept and idea (how they executed it is another thing) But I still love TATMR in that realm Of course I have my limits, I also don't want them to go overboard with the fantasy like they did with BWBA
I don't like your solution for Opinion №7. Absolute stupidity! When has Harvey ever been boastful? He's the exact opposite of that! A better solution would be if the characters that are being mean to him are narrowed down and get repercussions. Let's say James and Gordon are the bullies and Percy decides to join them because he's overworked and isn't thinking straight, like in Season 5.
You're definitely not in the minority about your opinion on Harvey to the Rescue. Everyone who I've heard talk about it have said it's either decent or awful.
My Unpopular opinions: I think Bwba is better than the Miller era! And come on. Edward is a great character. But he would be way more interesting if he had some flwas.
Unpopular opinion I don’t like season 4 and some of the season 3 and 2 episodes. to put it simply the screwed up Mainline engines, Enterprising Engines, duke the lost engine, and the skarloey stories in general. when you compare the original source material and how they present it in the show. it is executed poorly.
Here are mine and please nobody shoot me. 1. Percy is actually one of my least favourite characters because from season 5 onwards he stated to be a bit of a moaner and season 6 onwards he is a scared whiny brat 2. Season 7>Season 5 3. I like CGI Gordon and I feel sorry for him 4. Gordon is over-hated and Andrew brenner and some people should respect him so much better. Poor old Gordon though he deserved so much better in CGI. 5. Andrew brenner sucks as a writer. 6.The brenner era ruined the franchise in my opinion and the 3rd worst era of the franchise
Unpopular opinion: Sometimes the workers Seems to just go along with the engine's mistakes. But they don't seem to put their own inputs on the Situation Like the episode of. Edward's mihe keeps finding all the wrong items. neither his firemen nor driver says wait Is that really what we are supposed to get? Also, there are times where there should have been a cover on certain items like the bubble soap And vegetable trucks 🚂 I do like the episode when Thomas became a bubble engine 🫧
Here are my 10 unpopular opinions: 1. Season 11 is the worst model series (Aside from Season 12). 2. TAB and TGD are extremely overrated and are both B tier at beat. 3. I do not care for Michael Angelis. 4. HOTR is incredibly mid. 5. Michael Brandon is a great narrator. 6. Season 21 kinda sucks tbh. 7. The Miller era is a tiny bit overhated. 8. Charlie is overhated. 9. Stanley is a bad character. 10. Something in the Air > Haunted Henry (I still love Haunted Henry, though)

I agree in Edward, its okay to have him flawed as long its reasonable, there was this fan rewrite from Brendam production of the Edward strikes out that show Edward flaw rather well, and beautiful ending and morale.
So i agree, Edward can be flawed, if written right, it can be a good story material.

@@supershituttp7425 I'm sorry, I misstype lmao
6:30 Personally I always interpreted it that the narrator was speaking from Percy’s point of view, who is under the impression that Gator is staying on the island, not knowing about Gator’s ship just being delayed and helping the railway while he’s waiting on the next ship to come. This is backed up by Gator mentioning this not too long later, at the end of the ‘Our Tale of the Brave’ scene.
Percy even says at the end of that song that he's glad Gator isn't going away
This is what I always thought, because the mention of Gator going away wouldn’t quite hit as hard.
I fully agree
6:42 About that part. I think it's meant to get across that Percy thinks Gator works on Sodor, which he doesn't of course, but Percy doesn't know that.
#3 - agree
#5 - *Yes! Finally! Thank You!*
#9 - I don’t love every book he wrote; both of Chris’ Skarloey books, Wilbert, the 50th anniversary book and Victoria are particularly skippable.
#10 - because of those numerous technicalities, I too consider Models and CGI separate canons!
#1 - I do wonder what the adventure begins would be like had it been animated by nitrogen studios.
#2 - that's true.
#3 - true to a certain extent
#4 - agree & disagree
#5 - her hit era persona is better in my opinion
#6 - agree (though sometimes it depends)
#7 - disagree (there is a rewrite to the episode that I kinda like thou)
#8 - slowly agreeing (there's also his impatience showcased in Edwards Day out and Berties Chase)
#9 - exactly; especially Thomas and the twins and Jock the new engine
#10 - you're not the first one to believe this and rightfully so.
Hank had loads of potential.
1. The US fully switched over to diesel a decade before the UK, so he could've comforted the Sodor engines
2. The PRR K4 (Hank's bases) served as the basis for the LNER A1's Boiler, so there's the connection to Gordon
3. The K4 is stronger than the 9F, so a story with Hank and Murdoch
That sounds good
0:01 Look. This is something I agree with, the nitrogen studios is animation is the best and blue mountain mystery is my favourite movie which is from the nitrogen studios production that I love.
The fact that Blue Mountain Mystery still to this day does not receive the love it deserves is blasphemous.
@@ZachIsland I've never heard anything bad about the movie. I've seen several videos on TH-cam where people praise the movie.
IMO Freddie is the best hit era character, here why:
1. He has a good design: pretty self explanatory
2. His history: in an era where continuity isn’t really a thing Freddie adds some lore to the mid Sodor as he knows sir Handel but not Skarloey or Rheneas
Yeah his 3 leads aren’t that bad I have to agree with the Da Docta that ding a ling is Edward and the Mail done right.
@@ScottMalkinsonisWFINALLY someone else who likes Ding-a-Ling
@@fanofeverything30465 I think it’s an alright episode personally

Here are some integrity examples from the other weak CGI Specials the show has to offer:
MIR: Yes, even the worst film ever has integrity.
@@ZachIslandim nowtalgic for seasons 12-16 and for dotd and mir

I do basically agree, except for the part about the songs. I would say that the songs are anything but lackluster. They are quite catchy and memorable.
Honestly The Model Series And CGI Series Should Be Classified As Separate Canons, The World Of Sodor Makes 0 Sense As One Canon
Yeah, too many retcons and out of character moments for the CGI series to be canon.
At least, AEG, as bad as it is, knows that it's its own universe. The CGI series just can't seem to make its damn mind up! 🤦♂️
I agree
The worst thing about Oliver in the cgi series is the size of him I hope that if they bring back the cgi series they make him his original size
My unpopular opinion is that the hit model era and the brenner era are on a similar level of quality, because:
1: the main characters were, overall, better written in the hit era, as I would say that Gordon, james, Emily and Henry were well written in the hit era ( and even others, like Thomas, had their moments), whereas I would say only Edward, James and Percy ( to an extent) were well written.
For some examples: steamy Stafford, Emily saves the world, all of the Sampson episodes, Henry spots trouble, three steam engines gruff, Phillip’s number, a shed for Edward ect…
In conclusion, while the hit era was not great, I would argue that it is not that bad, and that many of its issues are also in the brenner era.
THANK YOU
I'm going to regret this one but I honestly don't care.
Season 8 is part of the classic series and Calling All Engines is the end of the Era. The steam Engines make amends with the diesels at the end so I like to believe the rest of model thomas is it's own Canon and the classic Era ends with the movie. That's just my opinion though so please don't hurt me.
Unpopular opinion: George Carlin is a better narrator than Ringo Starr.
Agree
I agree
Wow, I’m not the only one who thinks that way.
I kinda agree ❤
I agree.
Here's my unpopular opinion that a lot of people are going to hate me for.
I love The Engine Roll Call as much as the classic iconic theme tune that's been around since the show began.
This is gonna be good
3:56 Phillip and Charlie speak for themselves.
I agree
Also another: I feel like RWS Gordon doesn't really have this series-long arc as people say he does. Let me explain:
1) In "Triple Header", Gordon hints that he is "out of breath", and that is solely because he needed new tubes, not because "his age is catching up to him".
I agree with ThomasTheorist when he said that the CGI era only became a separate canon after The Adventure Begins.
For Opinion №6 I think Thomas and Percy took a page out of Toby's book and decided to be agents of chaos like him.
Also, glad to see I'm not the only one who sees Henry gradually becoming nicer.
Listing HIT Era newbies and not listing Rosie is crazy
Here are my Top 10 Unpopular Opinions
10.) All the Girls Around the World is a bad song.
9.) I like Bash and Dash.
8.) The All Engines Go Motorized and Push Along toys are better than the CGI ones.
7.) Hornby is better than Bachmann
6.) BWBA is the absolute worst Era of Thomas in history.
Hit and nitrogen had better toys than the Brenner era
here’s an unpopular opinion of my own: I prefer robert hartshorne over mike o’donnel.
don’t get me wrong mike o’donnel is great and his music is undoubtedly brilliant and just magnificent, how ever I prefer robert hartshorne for a few reasons.
I really like nitrogen’s animation although I just wish it was more saturated since it looks quite dull
Great hot takes
One of mine is that The Old Bridge is a great episode
This should NOT be 40 mins 😭🙏
Heres my opinion:the nitrogen era is better than BWBA
My most unpopular Thomas opinion is, shipping characters is ok but only as a thought experiment, or a joke to piss off RWS die-hards and others...
35:22 I’ve got to agree with you there

8: I mean sue but just it needs some tuning
9:I mean for slice of life
10: my theory is sodor fallout messed with the engines memory
I respect you opinion on #4 & 6 but agreed with the rest, especially with #10
My opinion is that I prefer the original version of Magic Railroad with P.T.
Why would sir topham let him back have you thought that he serectly came illegally
THANK YOU I LOVE NITROGENS ANIMATION
My unpopular opinion: Thomas And The Magic Railroad wasn’t all that bad! I think it’s a good film for what it was going for, for a concept about Magic, Lady was a great female character and I really loved her design and personality and also Diesel 10 was at his all time best in the movie!
There are just a few unpopular Thomas opinions I have, but here they are:
@@thetttefanwithlegos2992 Hi Khor,
Thank you for your comment.
Honestly I'll take a lot of theorizing to make the cgi and model series eras cannon like sure why not
Okay, here are my 4 unpopular opinions.
-Season 5 seems to me to be anything but Thomas' best season, in fact I don't even consider it a great thing
Before any purist fan of the classic Thomas era wants to kill me, let me explain why I'm saying this. Many fans wanted to sell it to me as if it were Second Avenue of Christ, the best of the best of Thomas... and when I watched it in full a few days ago... I didn't find the supposedly "INCREDIBLE" Season 5. In fact, this season has things that I hated enormously, Gordon became an unbearable jerk to the max and by far the worst season of the character in the model era for me
I also really hated the daytime lighting in season 5... bro the lighting was just horrible (And no, the fact that it was meant to be more cinematic is no excuse) Y en episodios a lo mucho como 10-12 me gustaron....de resto o los considero meh o mediocres
And in episodes at most like 10-12 I liked....the rest I consider them meh or mediocre
In fact, season 5 is so far away from me that it is the season of Thomas that I watch the least...at most I watched it about 9-12 times
I am not saying that the season is bad or crap...but simply season 5 is the season of Thomas that I would say...it is simply not that good
2- I prefer the Gullane and Hit eras more than the Classic era
Yes, I know the hit era has a lot of problems and had quite a few mistakes... but man, the Peaks and best moments of the hit era just seem better to me than the classic era, the lighting, scenery and views always remained consistent in quality (at least seasons 8-10)
In the classic era you either had amazing lighting and aesthetics (Seasons 3-4) or you had shitty lighting and aesthetics (seasons 2 and 5)
Not to mention that many of my favorite episodes from the model era are here
-Thomas saves the day
-Squeak, creak and roll
-The Great Edward
-All the Henry episodes (except Henry's mistake)
-The Emily episodes
-Don't tell Thomas
-Percy's Big Mistake
-You can Toby
-Duncan and the old mine
-The James episodes
-Molly's special
(I think it's already You understand what I mean x"D)
And with Gullane, man, watching those seasons for yourself and seeing that they are great and amazing seasons without having to copy the general opinion of the fandom is great (and by copy I mean when certain people just repeat what the big Thomas youtuber on duty said)
In fact, unlike Hit, I consider that Gullane doesn't have any bad episodes (even its worst episodes are mediocre or forgettable at best) and its Peaks and best moments... ufffff incredible
Unlike the classic era, which has some episodes that I do consider bad (especially certain episodes from season 5)
3- People who keep complaining about Reebot are simply pathetic
One thing is that you don't like AEG, that's respectable...but another thing is saying that people who like AEG aren't fans of Thomas or even saying that those who like AEG are autistic.......it's a huge difference
And the most annoying thing about this matter is that most of the people who criticize AEG are BLESSED ADULTS OF 20-30 YEARS OLD FOR JESUS CHRIST.....
And I'll make it clear once and for all, no, I'm not a fan of AEG (I'm neutral with Reebot and I prefer to stay that way) but I hate this kind of fans who only spend their time annoying and complaining about a Reebot that they'll never see in their life
(Funny that Thomas is supposed to be a series that teaches you lessons and 80% of the fandom doesn't give a damn about the lessons lol)
4- The exaggerated realism in Thomas bores me a lot
I'll say it right away, I never liked a fully realistic Thomas before or now... honestly I find it very boring
And before the typical "NOOOOOO IT'S THAT REALISM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THOMAS, NO YOU'RE NOT A FAN IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT" comes
Let me tell the one reading this, that I don't even consider realism the most important thing in Thomas
Was it something that made him stand out? Yes
The most important thing? No
What was important to me in Thomas were the stories that many could identify with or empathize with the characters, the development and how they grew or changed, their charisma and personality, incredible stories either because of their simplicity or how complex they are and the lessons and messages they gave you
That's what I always considered the most important thing in Thomas... not if a locomotive doesn't have a 100% realistic crash
(Let's be honest, not even the classic series is 100% realistic)
That's why I love things like TATMR in concept and idea (how they executed it is another thing) But I still love TATMR in that realm
Of course I have my limits, I also don't want them to go overboard with the fantasy like they did with BWBA
29:03 well except Percy he did get some consequences otherwise he wouldn’t have been the one in the crash
At the end a lot of your evidence is floppy, I agree with you but in TOTB it is stated the clay pits are being *Reopened*
I haven’t really seen the vid, but do u think the 1st 7 seasons could be a separate canon from seasons 8-24
1. Percy is actually one of my least favourite characters because from season 5 onwards he stated to be a bit of a moaner and season 6 onwards he is a scared whiny brat
2. Season 7>Season 5
3. I like CGI Gordon and I feel sorry for him
30:19 Old people are racist sometimes, Edward is racist against cranes
Unpopular opinion: Sometimes the workers Seems to just go along with the engine's mistakes. But they don't seem to put their own inputs on the Situation
