Thank you for making these videos, Paul. You clearly put a lot of thought into this and I really enjoyed them. Your Columbia is a quantum leap beyond my 1975 172M. Makes me wish I could head down the my local airport and get checked out in a Columbia!

This was an EXCELLENT video. I know you produced it some time ago, but it is still relevant. I really really like the Columbia 350, and it is actually my airplane of choice given my mission. I know Cirrus is all the rage, but I really like this aircraft given the technology and the fact that it does NOT have a parachute. I've been looking for an airplane and the only thing that gives me pause is the potential for a lack of parts availability. I have not flown the aircraft, but just based on what I have read, and your videos, the Columbia is something I'm really interested in.
Thank you for the videos. They are extremely helpful.

I have never been a small plane before. How does the speed brake work? And how much does the plane weigh? Thank you for doing these videos. I enjoy learning about planes.

Hi Scot, thanks for you questions! The speed breaks disrupt the aerodynamic flow of air across the top of the wing which results in a rapid decent. The plane weight depends on the amount of fuel, but empty weight is 2200 pounds. Weights are covered in detail in Part 1, check it out and let me know if you have questions.

Nice plane! I am considering getting into the 300 series. Are you in a flying club or partnership or do you own it outright? How has the operating cost been? I can't use it for work so I would be buying it personally. It is definitely on the higher side of my budget, so I am concerned about operating costs. Also, do you think the transition from an Arrow would be challenging or not bad with appropriate training?

      Thanks Kujo,
I own with two others - highly recommended to have a partner or two to help with offset cost.
Yes, you can transition from on Arrow. I transitioned with 10 hours of training with a TAA certified CFI after flying a Mooney.
PM for more detailed cost data.
