Mega Man X4 (9): Frost Walrus [X]

"Better to Have Loved and Frost"
This is a fun one. The whole first half being the journey to the base itself followed by with the icy infiltration in part two is a neat touch. Both sections having their own fitting music track, the second of which is a strong contender for my favorite of the main eight stages, is an even better one. It's definitely a nice touch, but hopefully not an ice touch as those don't feel good here.
Again, the sections being divided up to where even the enemies are switched between parts is what makes this one click. You have the yetis, snowmen, and cool boarders outside and then a bird on the inside that can freeze the base and even his friends over in part two. It's one of the more interesting experiences X4 provides, and this is in a game that's already doing a decent job of that.
And then Frost Walrus exists. He walks slowly, he slides slowly, and he also loves YAHHHHing all over the place. You ever wonder if he and Jet Stingray got into shouting matches back in the day? Anyway, this fight's arguably the easiest of the eight as long as you know that you can shoot the chunks of ice sent your way late in the fight. Now you do, so congrats. You won! So did we. On we go.

I forgot to comment on the Cyber Peacock video so I'll just say here that Aiming Laser is the most disappointing weapon in the game for me. It looks so cool but I absolutely hate using it lol.
Never realized how good the music in the first part of this stage is. Very atmospheric.

To be fair, big bosses that are hard AND take up a lot of screen space suck, so I don't mind an easier big boy.
