I watched it 5 times she was not distracted when she said 10 bucks. That’s an interesting situation and the fact that you handled it so well mannered was awesome.
Great way you handled the dumbbell price! I had an incident with a seller that I wish had gone that well. I bought a box of CDs off FB. After I paid, the seller started taking CDs that were in his photos out of the box saying they weren't included. After I showed him his pictures he wouldn't budge so I asked for a discount or my money back. I was very polite, but he got mean. I ended up telling him I would call the Sheriff. I felt ridiculous saying that, but he was very threatening. He finally gave me all the cds. I discovered later that he has a habit of trying to cheat people. It was an experience I never want to repeat!
You handled that really maturely. I’ve had similar situation happen and I always find myself HAVING to be like “well, you did say $10, but it’s alright, I’ll bring it back”. There’s really no gain in doing so aside from the superficial satisfaction of being right and standing your ground about that but..that doesn’t really get me anything or accomplish anything other than potentially escalating a situation to an argument, so there’s no point to NOT be like “oh I must’ve misheard, here you go”. You know you were right so..what’s the point in arguing it? Sure you have the footage and could’ve proved it but by the time it got to that..what’s the point? At the end of the day, either you misheard or she misspoke. And you know you didn’t mishear it so she must’ve misspoke.
@@CoryW24 Yep, saw that. Same thing happened to me. I felt really bad about it when I realized what happened but it was way too far to travel back and give them the money.
John you are so professional in dealing with sellers I went back checked the video she definitely said 10 bucks love all the videos keep up the great job!!
If you only gave him $5 (i.e. "five back to you) after canceling your $10 deal, that means you got the dumbbells for 5 bucks, not $15. LOL You got an even better deal! It sounded like he initially caught the error ("oh wait...") but then decided you were right.
I went back and re-watched just that exchange with the lady about the weights. All I have to say is that was kind of shady on her part. You were so kind to someone who really didnt deserve it. This is why I love watching your videos!
Hey John, thanks to your videos I got an amazing flip! I found 5 new in the box Betty spaghetty dolls. I paid $1 each and just sold one on eBay for $80 the next day! Thank you for being you! Keep up the great work. :)
Yup, she definitely said $10.00...LOL! Glad she met you half way though. Now, the dolls with no feet...why did they have no feet? Things that make you go hum. HA! Fun video and great finds! Thanks for taking us along. The up and coming "Community yard sale weekend" for Miami TWP is September 9-11. I THINK it is for all of Clermont but can't be sure so don't hold me to that. I live in Miami TWP (Loveland/Milford) so get the notifications for there.
You handled that like a gentleman. She definitely told you $10 to start with. I loved the dancing Mets guy too! I hope that you find the right buyer for Comb Display! I think someone will pay up for it for sure! I thank you again for your kindness and I appreciate you sending folks over to my channel man!! It means a lot 😊
John, you always give folks the benefit of the doubt. Good for you. Deals just go smoother when we aren't hostile. ... but, she did say $10! I went back and looked. Nice shout out to Danielle. Again, you don't have to give her a shout out, but you do cause you are a nice guy!
You're awesome! I must be just getting old because my patience is completely gone! You were calm and extreamly patient with them, even though they were completely wrong! Respect!!
That comb display is great! The whole Americana vibe when people slicked their hair back and put combs in their back pockets. It deserves a restoration, wouldn't take too much to restore that. I like golf clubs too but usps changed the game quite a bit with dimensional surcharges, and as soon as football season starts its all downhill for several months lol. And buying boxes for golf clubs, all adds up. But yea the golf season is wrapping up, football is here.
UPS is the way to go with Golf clubs now. I resell a bunch so I buy 48x4x4 boxes off amazon and they end up being about $2 a piece. Lower end clubs will sit a bit during the fall but nice ones will still sell well. Just wanted to add my 2 cents!
You are a real professional when it comes to dealing with sellers at garage sales. It looked like she was talking to you when she said $10 for the dumbbell. She gave it to you at good price. Some descent buys.
She absolutely sold you the dumbell for $10. No question. When they were splitting up the $140., the guy probably told her she didn't charge enough. You defined GRACE with the way you handled it. I consider myself to be graceful in situations like this, but I admit, I would have stood my ground, especially since it was recorded. Kudos to you!
You’re so nice. I am too but it’s nice to see a nice TH-cam reseller. People get so defensive these days when we make killer money on the stuff we buy. I would have done the same thing. Most people would think I’m nuts but if the people look like they need the money I offer extra from what they have it priced at all the time especially if I’m going to 10 times my money.
John, I've said it many a times, not just on this channel, but on other reseller channels as well...you are a wonderful upstanding Man! You always are reasonable, even when I'm sure in your heart you were right, but what's the point in arguing or disagreeing, right?! Stay well and God bless!
As a Bengals fan, you have Gio Bernard and CJ Uzomah on the balls. Very cool but unfortunately neither are Bengals anymore. If you’re willing to sell them let me know! I’m very interested! Great video as always John!
In the end he only paid $5 for the item. Unless he handed the gentleman 3 $5 bill after they agreed on 15. Seemed like he only grabbed one. (140-20=120+10=130+5=135) homeowner ended up with 5 less dollars than original price
Ok, I agree with everyone that she originally said $10 but let's do the math Paid $10 (total $140) Got $10 back (guy gave you a $20 and you gave him two 5's) Then you gave him a $5 bill. So, you actually only paid $5.00 for the weights. Your "extra" $5 offer only works if he hadn't already refunded you the original $10 or if you gave him $15. :)
5:27 Nope. She told you very clearly 10 BUCKS. She knew she did. That is why when you said you would just bring them back she went right to $10. You were very kind in offering her $15, but you didn't have to.
You handled that way better than I would've. People make mistakes, I get it, but don't try to upcharge me after things were finalized. That GoPro would've been on playback just for them lol
127 sale was a mess for me this year with sellers wanting WAY too much for items. With the rain we had near Cincy, it was barely worth it to go out and attempt any bartering.
This happened to me but at a big box store. Law here states whatever the ticket price is is what the customer pays. They had this advertised sale. So off I went to the mall to get this pasta machine that was marked down $60. When I got there, couldn't find it so I asked one of the assistant managers on the floor. He directed me to where they had only two left on display. Even helped me carry the box over to the cashier. Then he began to walk away but turned back and excused himself as he raised the sale price up by $50 resulting in only a $10 reduction for the sale instead of the advertised $60. Then he walked off. The cashier's face spoke volumes like this guy did this sort of scummy thing all the time. So I then turned to her and said, "Yeah, I've changed my mind. You have a good day now." I should have reported him. You definitely had this lady on video where she clearly stated "how about 10 bucks?" No one else was talking to her or asking her anything. Her sole focus was on you and the dumbbells. I'm sorry but I would have just walked away. And even if they'd offered them to me for free, I would have left. Also wouldn't have gone ahead with any of the other purchases either. And definitely marked them down as somewhere not to revisit in the future. But that's just me. No bargain is worth being taken advantage of.
The first guy, the dumbbell woman and the Astro's guy from National would all get along really well. The Met's thing is HORRIBLE CP lol. As always you handled the bad situations very well! Awesome of you to pay above ask on the comb display too.

Awesome scores. I wish I could find weights that cheap. Still at 15$ was a steal. I still think 25$ would be a steal those are expensive for those adjustable weights. But she definitely said 10$. Handled that very smooth
I have that I exact same fish bowl. My bother in law gave it too me. I used it for my Beta fish but it’s really hard to clean so I just use it for decoration now.
That's really cool John.. Love this vintage comb display and I've never seen one and probably will never see another..😝 I did hear that woman say $10 for the dumbbell set but oh well you still got a good deal by paying $15 for it.. Take care always..👍💕🔥⚾🤙
such great finds!! i would have loved to get the twenty one pilots and fall out boy shirts at a garage sale! by the way, Blurryface is a twenty one pilots album that came out in 2015, and it's their biggest album. the emotional roadshow shirt i dont exactly know too much about, but the 'poisoned youth' shirt is definitely Fall Out Boy and that quote actually comes from their song called 'centuries' and it was off of their album called 'save rock and roll' which was released in 2013. i hope this info helped!!
Great job handling lady with the weights. I don't think she was trying to rip you off. She did say she lost her husband and sometimes that affects your mind. For some people it might. But either way when someone offers me a great deal like that I pay immediately and take to the car. Then there wouldn't have been any confusion. But you handled it very nicely
You handled that really well. I would have been salty and been like “well let’s review the footage” and when she realized she did she $10, I would have got my money back and gave her the dumbbell back lmao
I think technically, he only paid $5 for them because he got the $10 back from the guy. Then just paid him $5 😂😂 So in the end, Cincinnati Picker wins!
That money exchange was super confusing. He gave you $20 back, you gave him $10 totaling $130. Then you gave him $5 so total $135 when it should have been $145. I think you got them for $5 in the end because everyone was confused lmao. Unless you slipped him more that the camera did not pick up.
Initially he paid $140 ($10 for the dumbells) then got $10 back = $130. Then proceeded to pay $5 for the dumbells instead of $15 for a total of $135. 😅 Im sure he didnt mean to do it. It's the change that messed up the count!
You definitely handled that situation very well. I like those RayBan eye glasses, and interested in them, where do I find them online to see how much they are? Thanks
In all the confusion, didn't you get the dumbbells for $5? You paid $140 for everything including the dumbbells ($10 DBs plus $130 other items) 7:36. You gave him $10 and he gave you $20 when the dumbbells were going back 8:16 (net $130 for other items), then settled on $15 for the dumbells (new total should be $145 = $15 + $130), but I only saw you gave him $5 ($135 net = $5 + $130) 8:32. Or am I missing something!? Not implying anything sinister in the dealings, just did not add up the first time watching it.
The girl in the green kentucky shirt said a county that's near me. For some reason around here, we call it the 400 mile yard sale. I assume it is the same yard sale since I went to it around the same time as this video, just for some reason not the correct phrase for it.
I always carry batteries with me all different sizes that way I can check things out I've learned over the years they tell you it works and you go home and you have to throw it out
very strange and awkward situational retractable deal with that lady, who's husband died, sad to hear that, awesome and kudos for you for keeping your cool, handled that situation very mature!!! Happy hunting!!! Take it easy!!!
Good wrench hat, Dolls, Mets player, Footballs, pressure gauge, Golf clubs, shoes, VHS, Shirts, Reds diecast Display case. Brooks track shoes, detail case, Ray bands, head covers, Weights, figure containers, T-shirts, camera Accessories, Microphone, Comb Display Thanks John for the video. Hope the family is doing well. Peace out.
It's very typical for the Gemmy animatronics to not have moving mouths or heads, the belts have to be replaced after so long - and it is a real pain to do. Check out the Rockin' Randall, that's a popular one for the NFL. I bought a Arizona Cardinals one for $15 at a garage sale and flipped it for $50 plus shipping same day of listing it, even though the head and mouth didn't move, dancing was weak.
You are much nicer then me. I would of stood my ground with that lady told me a price I paid now you want to change it i don’t think so. I would of brought everything back and cancelled a $140 sale. Hats Off Yo ya
My son just joined cross country and instead of thrifting for his track shoes I went into a sports store. I paid $140 for his brooks shoes! 😓 I will now be looking for that brand. They are worth more then you think. My son runs four miles a day for practice! Anyway I’m reseller do that hurt!!
she said 10 bucks for the weight. you can see her and the other older woman pointing and looking at them in the background when you were in the back of the garage
Stick to your guns: originally an order to Naval Gun Crews to continue manning their canons, even as the ship was on fire and munitions were exploding around them (as opposed to the order to abandon ship). Now it means to be stead fast and determined to not change a belief or course of action. Back when I served as a submarine sailor, the common Damage Control joke (prioritizing which damage to deal with first) was: don’t worry about the fire, the flooding will put it out. Dark humor on a dark subject, to brighten Your mood in a crisis.
I always wonder why people do not put batteries in, I guess there is a problem, I mean if it works stick some chap batteries in and it'll sell for more or at least sell quickly. I have done a couple of sales in the past to get rid of stock and I always put batteries ion things.
Those baseball gloves for five dollars, I noticed they usually go for $30 plus. Also there were some tennis rackets can be really good profit in those sometimes!
She clearly said $10, and even with a question mark, as though she wasn't sure. She verified it when you said you owed $11.00 and she responded positively. Nice scores, though. The comb display looks 30s (ish) to me. It is cool.

Your the only guy that don't shake like a pooping dog when he's doing transactions. It's so awkward when you see it. Nice to see bud. Confidence is a key attribute in this field
I got this the other day. One item went from 3 out of the mom's mouth then the daughter started harassing her to go up. Asked me for an offer, I thought 20 was fair, "I'll take 25". Same yardsale, they yell at dad for a price, he yells 5, just get rid of it. Daughter looks me straight in the face like I was deaf and said he wants 10. Got screwed on both. Electronics that they swore worked, from a super nice house. Of course they didn't work.
Also illustrates that you should settle up before getting too far into the numerous items or people either forget or change their minds (seller remorse)
Those are nice dumbbells.. I had a set of two similar to those that were adjustable, some of the best ones I ever found. Sadly due to sitting around and getting cat piss all over them, and a piece breaking off of both of them I threw them away. Would love to get another set though.. Paid $50 for two of them, such a nice deal on them.
I watched it 5 times she was not distracted when she said 10 bucks. That’s an interesting situation and the fact that you handled it so well mannered was awesome.

She said ten dollars. SHE WAS A GREEDY PERSON 🤨

@@aarontennant5558 The owner's first instinct was correct, and then he went along with CP's short shrift. LOL
Initially he paid $140 ($10 for the dumbells) then got $10 back = $130. Then proceeded to pay $5 for the dumbells instead of $15 for a total of $135. 😅 Im sure he didnt mean to do it. It's the change that messed up the count!
Came to say this. He def only paid $5 for the dumbbell
Damn! I love when it's 20 + minutes videos. Thanks, John :)
I was thinking the exact same thing!!
I think your right. They changed the price on him (she definitely said $10) and he ended up getting them $5
Nice finds John! Love the comb display!
Thanks Dom! I appreciate you watching!
I just found a sealed Christmas vacation VHS. Going to save it. I want to collect all the Vacation movies.
I am freezing my baguettes off Clark
Pretty sure that was a very clear "uh how bout 10 bucks" lol. Best way to handle it though! Always a pleasure watching
Love what you find, Have a Awesome day and awesome week
Thought they were $25
Ya no I'm wearing a camera.
Very well handled John. Awesome as always!
Always pay the person that’s doing the negotiation. Never deal with multiple people. It creates mass hysteria
You’re absolutely right
The girl in the green kentucky shirt said a county that's near me. For some reason around here, we call it the 400 mile yard sale. I assume it is the same yard sale since I went to it around the same time as this video, just for some reason not the correct phrase for it.
I wish I could carry myself in your manor.. I would have automatically assumed that lady was trying to take advantage of me. Good job dude
She totally said $10 for the dumbbell. I might have passed on those dumbbells because of that! You even said prices back to the guy!
No way I would of paid an extra 5 for the dumbells. You're much nicer than I would of been.
I always carry batteries with me all different sizes that way I can check things out I've learned over the years they tell you it works and you go home and you have to throw it out
Just curious do you do much with vintage glass like Fenton and hall and things like that
3:08 "I was doing $25 but I'll do $20." The seller talks himself down for you LOL!
very strange and awkward situational retractable deal with that lady, who's husband died, sad to hear that, awesome and kudos for you for keeping your cool, handled that situation very mature!!! Happy hunting!!! Take it easy!!!
The woman should’ve admitted she was wrong and told you $10. I would’ve been adamant about it and gave them back but you’re nicer than me lol
I was at the first guys Yard Sale! You must of been there earlier then me. I bought his Fischer price stuff up top. For 20
Good wrench hat, Dolls, Mets player, Footballs, pressure gauge, Golf clubs, shoes, VHS, Shirts, Reds diecast Display case. Brooks track shoes, detail case, Ray bands, head covers, Weights, figure containers, T-shirts, camera Accessories, Microphone, Comb Display Thanks John for the video. Hope the family is doing well. Peace out.
Those Bengals Covers are awesome 👍
It's very typical for the Gemmy animatronics to not have moving mouths or heads, the belts have to be replaced after so long - and it is a real pain to do. Check out the Rockin' Randall, that's a popular one for the NFL. I bought a Arizona Cardinals one for $15 at a garage sale and flipped it for $50 plus shipping same day of listing it, even though the head and mouth didn't move, dancing was weak.
If you ever get around the massilon part of ohio, there is this Lincoln way garage sale with 1000s of garage sales every year
I went to those sales on Saturday. From Cincy to around Celina OH.
Omg I love the content you put out and keep up the amazing work
Great work my friend. Thanks again for sharing.
The autos are CJ Uzomah and Giovani Bernard
I wish I would find one of those adjustable dumbbells for $10!!!! Nice buy!
Missed the sale this year, always a fun time.
It is cool.
12:38 "This will be for my VHS PC" this took me a minute, thinking what computer out there takes VHS... then I realized its Personal Collection, not Personal Computer.. ;)
Hahahaha yup! I should have clarified, my bad!
I think the bengals autos are cj uzahmah I spelled the last name wrong but the TE who’s now on the jets and Chris Evan’s the Rb he was a rookie last year.
I literally went back to the point she said $10 🤯 deffo was saying it to you haha 😂 fair play you handle that so well, one of the others was not happy she sold them at $10 so she tried the old switcharoo price on you 🤯 love your vids man ! Watching from South Wales UK 🇬🇧
You have a lot of class I like that you handle it nicely
Those are nice dumbbells.. I had a set of two similar to those that were adjustable, some of the best ones I ever found.
Sadly due to sitting around and getting cat piss all over them, and a piece breaking off of both of them I threw them away.
Would love to get another set though.. Paid $50 for two of them, such a nice deal on them.
She said for sure $10.00 for the bar bell. You sure handle it like a Gentleman. Good Job.
I Googled it and I live 198 miles away from 348 Maineville, Ohio
Ship the dumbells in a flat rate USPS box (double boxed) for $15-$20
@5:25 she DID say $10 for the dumbbell. But she thought about it first... maybe she forgot, or second guessed herself...
