Hello. I’m reviewing the video you made of your elan. The engine number is usually stamped on the somewhat horizontal flat above the right engine mount, look for something like LPxxxxLBA
The block number is stamped on the upward face on the side above the L cast in to the side, the grille is for the car, the black item is a headlight lift pod which works on vacuum:Anything with a 26 in the pat number is a correct Lotus part number
Awesome thanks for the info! i will have to check the stamp. is there a stamp on the frame or body as well or a way to check if its all original to the car?
Oh boy!! Like you don't have enough on your plate? Worth a lot of money when restored. Anywhere from about 40 to 80 thousand American. 3 starters is good. You know how they can be. He prob searched and picked up parts wherever he could. There are many Elan groups you can join for help. Good luck!!
haha yeah i got too much on the go always and this thing is going to be a big project either way. Don't think I'm going to try and fix it my self, i thought about it for a minute but i don't have the time or resources to be able to do that right now maybe ever lol. yes exactly he told me he was picking up parts and adding to the pile of parts he had constantly he was mainly into the svo mustang stuff
