I totally get what u mean. However, what is really “making it”? He’s doing what he loves, doing it full time and makes a good living. That’s a success. He’s just not the type of comic that’s a house hold name like Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Jerry Seinfeld etc. His appeal is mostly black audiences. While successful, he’s not a what u call a “mainstream” act. He doesn’t care to be mainstream. He’s content with his career.
