I went to Uji once I really love atmosphere of Uji quiet place in morning and after 4-5 PM close to Kyoto just 20 min this video made me want to go to Uji again the calm of sitting near Uji river and listen flow of the river is very peaceful

I just had the most wonderful day in Uji. Weather wasn't as nice as in your video, it was raining on and off, but it was special regardless. The highlight for me was the Kosho-ji temple, I could really feel the spirit of the place and meditate there a bit. Byodo-in was way too crowded. Also I got some really nice teaware from the Asahiyaki shop to bring home, so I will always remember back to Uji for years to come when I serve tea to my guests. And hey, if I want to see it again in nice weather, I can always just watch your video. Thank you! :)

This is so beautiful (2:20) and reminds me of the purification ritual, Wudu, in Islam. Both Temizu and Wudu share the same spirit of cleansing the body and mind before entering a sacred space. It's amazing to see these similarities across different cultures and religions. What is also amazing is how these places are examples of where humans augment the surroundings to make them more beautiful. The serene environment and the meticulous care taken in the design truly enhance the comtemplative experience. I agree this is like watching a slice-of-life anime!
