To me this seems to be a nice compact mobile set. No hassle with a separate interface and microphones, but everything together in a handy case for on the go.
You said that you would use your pink cable this time.
This mic sounds really good. Especially for a usb mic. But at 300 dollars, it just doesnt make sense to own it in my eyes. For that same money you can get an m audio m track duo, a shure sm57, and an se electronics v7. While it may not sound as good, those two mics will get the job done and then some. And its around the same price if not a lottle bit more. So i would just go with that set up instead of this usb mic, because xlr will always sound better them usb.
Or the podmic usb, 3 podmics, 3 sm58, or the mv7
Yeah, I think when you start talking about a microphone in the $300 level then you have to ask if this is an entry level, intermediary microphone and something that you can take with you when you upgrade to XLR devices including boards and recorders. If not you need to be able to flip it to that next new content creator trying to get into the game. You don't want a box of old microphones and cables that your kids have to clear out when they put you in the home.
Lol...dad can tell you all kinds of stories about Behringer
Happy that you’ll be returning the mic. That’s integrity. Everyone who reviews things they haven’t bought with their own money should do that.
Meh...I don't care either way.
Owning the mics don't change the opinion on them
One of the drawbacks to doing mic reviews is...MORE mics doesn't add to my life.
I have over 100 mics that I haven't touched since I initially reviewed them.
Hardly a benefit
Fair point. But you are able to maintain your integrity. There is a large number of “reviewers” who have difficulty doing so. Or who are simply happy to be more akin to sales people. Either way, cheers for this review. Love your work 🎉
Looks good exept a "flimsy" cable. I think the full set is a better deal... Everything you might in a small set.
According to my wife, no I should not buy “another” microphone. :)
Wives don't understand.
Best to buy it and just tell her the money went to a charity
@@DarkCornerStudios hmm, yes but I fear using the word ‘charity’ in regards to my gear. I mean, how many guitars does one “really need”?
@@mikebauer6917 as many as necessary
It's impossible to have too many microphones.
Perhaps we were listening to different aspects of the mic. To me, this wasn't very good. The top end sounds weak and muffled. (and im a person that loves dark mics). For the price, what problem does this package solve that doesn't exist. Two mics one cable (2 girls one.... never mind lol) I can name at least a dozen other mics you can get for that kind of money that will outshine the performance of this, (and I'm pretty sure you could as well).
It's clearly not intended for entry level people with the price. For those that don't want to get into dealing with an interface, yeah, maybe. But, again, for $300 a dual channel interface (UA volt 2 $189usd) and a couple of ProAR Austrian Audio wanna be mics ($50 each) will leave you in a way better spot to upgrade later on and likely sound better. I appreciate the look into this, as I often get asked by clients to suggest something for home use. This probably wouldn't make the list, but at least I can say I've heard it from a trust worthy source. Thanks :)
Is any microphone worth the money ?
I heard that they are merging with Prussia. Hostile takeover or some such thing.
They sound really good, but I'm torn between this and the Audigo Mic . I know that one has the software with it where you can change effects and stuff. It's around the same price as the Micreator. I can't decide which one would be better for just doing acoustic and vocals on a mobile.
For that price point you would also think that it would be a usb xlr hybrid at the very least. while it sounds good I can't see anyone dropping 300 for a usb mic when they could go the xlr route and have it be worth the price
U're checking a microphone and speaking about looks, color of the plates, and cables. I don't get it. What's wrong with you all people
Is it better than the Sony ECM s1 6:22
The only reason I am not buying this product is that I’ve bought a couple Austrian Audio mics already. If this had come out 3 years ago, I definitely would have paid $300 for this.
It is super cool...3 years ago this thing would have CRUSHED the usb market
Thank you so much for your opinion that is quite a diliniation!
What about the Beacn Mic. Has some top notch software to it
Never reviewed.
Not against it...but can't form an opinion until I do
The beacn mic sounds incredibly boxy
It dont sound good to me sounds to high but dull on the high end.
Sounds good looks awful definetly not for me
You do such great reviews and this is an interesting package but what do you think the sound quality difference between these and the OC16 are? I would love to see a shoot out between AA's two most budget friendly options
Yeah the oc16 in my mind is superior...but they are going to be for very different applications.
The oc16 is a professional microphone
