Estaban’s most sophisticated technique is his impeccable tremolo. And he can certainly get some speed in his runs ...All with his fingers, in the Latin style. He is certainly not an “average-bar” guitarist as some dolts suggest. His phrasing and tremolo is clearly advanced. Having said that, I’m surprised that he seems to always play in first position chords, employing lots of double-stops, and the occasional chord up the neck...but that tremolo...impeccably timed and phrased when he uses it ...ahhh 😎 I would think that anyone who studied under Segovia would have a more advanced chordal arsenal. I read somewhere he had a bad accident and has had to recover his playing ability. When you see his younger stuff, he does seem to be more technically brilliant then.
He is ashamed to show his face, hiding behind the grotesque leather hat and sun glasses. It is difficult to find the word to describe his playing ability and instruments. Wait a moment, hang on...I've found it...SHIT.
