Hello, is it possible to change the roll paper size with this software? I’m having issues where my Epson T3170x reads the roll size incorrectly when I insert really thin paper.
Hi can you please let me know what you selected for the paper in the epson control panel. Are you using Enhanced Matte, Premium gloss, or something else? thanks
I apologize for the delayed response. Just seeing this now. If you are using rip software it doesn’t matter what paper setting you use but I typically use standard glossy. Rip will override that setting.
Out of curiosity have you printed out a sample onto inkjet photo paper?, if so do you get a various greyscale or does the printer software not interpret the image file the same, eg., dot screen v constant ink droplet output. Cheeers Bob
Sorry for the dumb question but I set up everything the same way you did and all it does is turn my work to halftones once i send it over to the rip software. What am I doing wrong or is it a setting?
Do you mean it’s creating halftones where it should be solid? If so, that goes back to how the artwork is created. Spot colors need to be designated as spot colors not built as CMYK or it’ll treat the art like 4cp.
@@EmulsionGuru Yes I guess im confused because I have had this printer for a while and printed the same design many times and something in the software messed up so I reinstalled it and now its doing it to all my files that worked perfect once before so I didn't know if it was a setting or something within the software
@@EmulsionGuru It's a film positive black from Jantex. Right now it's giving us trouble with finding the correct drivers. We have to setup the printer manually. The printer will run, but will not actually print any ink. Last night I tested it and it just started rolling my entire film roll out. Now I gotta figure out how to get it to retract the roll so I don't lose so much film.🙄
@@KingKoopa1don’t know much about that black. I know filmmaker has the drivers for it. I’d recommend downloading their free trial and try running it with FilmMaker DTP+. Definitely worth a try.

Donde pones el enengrecido necesario ? o el programa automaticamente elije el mejor negro
Can I print B1 size sheet ?
can you print borderless print on this printer?
Hi, can use these printer films for offset PS plates?
I haven’t tested that but I’d say yes.
Can you tell me if the epson T3170 (no “x” at the end) can be converted into a sublimation printer using the sublimation ink?
No Brasil se usa a T3170 para sublimação. Tem o processo para desbloquear ela e ela rodar tinta para sublimação.
My printer won’t see the darkstar roll film. Any thoughts? Just says there is a paper jam after trying to load it
I would recommend trying Chromaline’s AccuJet or AccuBlack film. I have never had an issue with either of them.
Hello, can this printer print on photo paper of 240gms?
Thank you.

I only use it for film.

@@avodroccustomprinting8090 I would recommend creating a new queue to see if that solves it. Most likely a setting got changed.
Hello, where did you acquire the Accu Ink for this printer? Thank you.

Hi. Are you 100% sure on putting the black ink in all ink reservoirs? I'm setting mine up now for cad printing and don't require color.
With the FilmMaker rip it allows me to draw from all 4. I use all black.
@@EmulsionGuru I used 1 black and flush from Jantex in the other 3. I'm using Wasatch SoftRIP... Still trying to get it working.
@@KingKoopa1what black are you using? I have not used Wasatch with it but can tell you FilmMaker rip with our AccuInk work well together.

What's the difference between this and T3130x? Is this successor to 3130x?
This is the successor to the T3270.
Does this printer have a scanner?
I don’t believe so.
This machine can print negative film too?
Yes, that’s just in the artwork. Might need to adjust ink levels down a hair when laying down that much ink but should be good.
Ok Thanks! If I need to print film for phototopolymer plates ? It should be good also?
You can print photo?
Not if setup as an all black system.
Thanks, you are best
Y can print photo?

Sounds like you’re talking about a different printer. This one is the T3170x.
Waste of Film
How do you figure? Keep in mind you can use smaller rolls of film if it suits your needs better. We also have 17”, 14”, and 13” wide rolls.
