I strongly disagree with your statement regarding the bathing of pets, not being helpful to cut down with allergens. I grew up in a generational family veterinary practice. I believe it was In the 90’s, Harvard medical research on bathing cats proved to significantly decrease the amount of saliva and dander on their fur. This protocol alleviated allergic reactions in susceptible people. I don’t have time to look up the study but every client who followed the protocol reported less problems living with cat allergies and were able to keep their cat as long as they kept up with the protocol. Please try to find the study so it can be posted.
Washing cats with in a bath is highly disturbing and stressful for cats and they rely on that saliva as a anti bacterial cover and by removing this you risk making them sick. You also destroy the cats scent and also severely harm your cats trust. Dogs are different and most dont have problems with bathing but cats do.
I’d like to pose a question. Before overloading our already over stretched GP’s what ONE simple act could we all do - especially allergy sufferers, at home as first line of defence to combat allergens triggers? Might keeping our mattresses cleaner help?
You cant actually completely eradicate dust mites, however you can drastically reduce them by covering your mattress in baking soda, leave it several hours them vacuum, then use fine bed covers, wash every 3 days at 140 degrees. For family members with respiratory problems them plastic cover over the mattress is probably best under the normal bed covers. Get rid of feather pillows.
Do dust mites like to live on animals?

First mistake, you can see dust mites, they look like white specks moving around.
you can't see them without a microscope....... you're probably thinking of a bed bug
If u r washing your pet often maybe get rid of it for the pets sake as well as your own.
Horrible to put a cat in a bath, highly stressful during and after as trust is gone and cats natural scent is removed creating more stress.
don't remove me please lol
Second mistake never bath a cat, highly stressful to the cat and ruins there scent and ruins there natral anti bacterial saliva from hair.
Suffering allergy for extended periods, cause irreversible damage to body/brain.
Get rid of the pet. Men use toilet, woman are not allergic to men.
