I've been growing the apple blossom geraniums from seed and keeping them dormant over the winter with great success here in western Colorado. Beautiful flowers! Thank you for the videos; really enjoy them.
Oh I’m so interested to follow this journey. I sowed the same anemone (from swallowtail) in April and the few I have left are sooo small, still under grow lights in my garage. I’m inspired to try this! Not geranium-I think you may have geranium blooms for Christmas! What a lovely thought though :)
I ordered pelargonium seeds from swallowtail seeds and they did wonderfully! I had 30 plants and gave them to the ladies at the senior center. I’m definitely going to order some geum, yarrow and Eryngium seeds from them. Thanks for sharing your great seed haul!
Great to see all the varieties of perennial seeds! Thanks for sharing! Will look forward to seeing the outcomes of these plants😊. It’s fun to see your excitement about an opportunity with perennials and what you will be able to enjoy in your gardens. Happy gardening😊
I've never started perennials in summer. I winter sow them. I would love to see the process. My concern is will they be established enough to come back next spring. If it works for you in Canada, it will surely work for me in 5b-6a Massachusetts!
Nice! Their website has all the info for specific varieties and what temp they need to germinate. It looks like Geum doesn't need to be cold stratified. I'll be starting a lot of these soon and will be sure to do a video :)
Some would be fine to be sowed right into the ground. I won't be doing that though, some of the seed packs only have a 10-20 seeds and I can't risk it. I find the seeds I start indoors germinate more reliably. I will probably save some to winter sow though!

Nice! What a great way to save them for the next summer :)
Great selection of plants never tried to grow perennials from seed look forward to seeing the process.
Thanks! A bit more of a challenge, but I'm up for it!
Thank you for this video! I didn’t know I could buy guara from seed. It’s one of my favorite fillers in containers😁🌸☀️
I tried a few of their seeds this year in my cut flower gatden and so far so good...looking forward to trying some perennials this winter
Wonderful! They have such a nice selection!

Winter Sowing is definitely my favourite method! This will be a new challenge but I'll be sure to share the process :)
Any tips for starting the Geums? I got the blazing variety as well!

I am in zone 4 in MN. Will you be starting in the ground or in the house? Really hoping they can go directly in the ground 😊
