Quick question, is there any mechanical consequence to helping a sleeper along heavily toward their awakening or is it just an ST going"hmmm, yes, she is a harrowed now despite getting a critical success on her breaking point and having mental stats boosted to the high hells through magic". From what I understand at least, there is nothing stoping a Master Mastigos and Master Acanthus from awakening somebody quite easily and safely; the only danger comes from a Salazar situation where you go "Oh no! I have awakened a bad person!"
We as players and ST know that an exceptional success on the breaking point is necessary, mechanically. Narratively, one of the Watchtowers still has to send the Lustrum to the Prospect. That's why there are entire factions of Mages who try to study Awakening so they can help others Awaken. For my game, if the players come up with an interesting method to try to Awaken a sleeper, it MIGHT work once... It'll never work again.
