People act like a mycareer game spamming A to get the ball. Random rec full of bums that dont want to play their "role" in a 5v5 and want to lose
My friend and I played two games with you a couple of weeks ago, and I have to come to the conclusion that yes you are. You may have good intentions while hooping, or randoms have you thinking there are no good players left in the community. I shoot over 70% from the field, over 62% from 3. My friend and I were open on several occasions throughout the game, and you went up on multiple defenders instead of hitting us wide open in the corner. We didn’t miss a single shot either game. Literally. We won both the games, so I can’t complain too much.
2:28 I'm definitely that type of player, but of course I have a reason. When I play help defense, my man ALWAYS scores. As someone who mostly played with randoms from 2K16 - 2K22, I had to learn to lock down my own opp. Helping other people who should know how to play defense only lead me to losses
The reason the randoms don't play defense and try to ball hog and score on every play is for two reasons. One, is that they're too young or out of touch with what goes in on 2k and what doesn't. When they play my career they hit all these contested layups then come into the rec and want to do the same thing against a 95 block center with HOF anchor. In real life, some of those contested layups might go in but 2k is a whole different thing without different regulations for what goes in and what doesn't. The other reason is because a lot of people don't have the skill or time to grind badges quickly and get their build maxed out, so they use the rec to grind their badges, for examples if it's shooting they're gonna chuck the ball up every time they get it. 2k as a community needs to seperate players by how many games they've played in the rec, and allow the process of grinding badges to be easier for worse/new Players. Or else, this won't change.
@@45atanner i agree. When I got a non shooting big then yea I'm gonna be in the paint. But if he a good shooter like me then I need you to switch big homie
Truthfully playing PG you have a better feel of how the other 5 defenders been playing the whole game and being a middy player myself in 2k24 a lot of people don’t understand attacking the open space. That was a winning play, if you pass it’s the right pass, if you was going to shoot you took the right possible shot. W!
I never have a problem with volume scorers because I know when I’m the best scorer on the team, I’d hate for someone to just stop passing it to me. HOWEVER WHAT I DO HATE are the ones that can only score twos and don’t pass to the shooters to compensate. That’s mostly always an L.

im hoping this bigger court helps, I only play at the 5 so pnr should be better and no more being able to cover paint + wing in 1 step. it's also the "ball hogs" that can open things up, so I'll take them
My squad and I go back and forth on this all the time. The moment I point something out, they respon "my man only got two points". Yes, he does, but you're allowing him to orchestrate the offense. Or they're over helping, forcing you to pick up their guy, now your man scoring. Crazy out here.
Love your vids bro the comment you made about ppl being very technical about “he was open, this was open” but not understanding anyone can see that as u watch it back or a spectator is fax! Like bro we worried bout ppl pinching, baiting, etc rec is so toxic
I love that our play style is the same, legit think the same! Hate when people get on the mic and say you are the worst point guard you have 5 assists yet i carried them with scoring 40-50 pts on my opponents head and my team mates just wanna stand still and have their opponent guarding them tight, like how am i supposed to set up a shot for you if you just wanna stand still and not cut or switch spots, i get that they are tryna space out but if i’m getting doubled fkn do something so i can set a shot up for you 🤦🏻♂️ each year i swear IQ just gets worse and worse
Bra as much as a bucket as someone is no one is trying to watch someone shoot 5 straight times when you been hustling playing D, etc. I get if they can’t score individually by creating they own shot but part of being a PG is to SET up teammates not just pass it to them because they want it. As a SG/SF scoring is more exceptional but I hate when it’s PGs that shot hunt when they will eventually have the ball the whole game anyways
Shot hunting PGs can be a nightmare, but a lot of players don’t allow themselves to be set up. Their spacing is always terrible. It’s not just on the PG. 💯
@@OgSenseiAcelmao comprehension. It's about getting the opportunity to touch the ball. They have a 1v1 count for a reason. If you want to put up all the shots and dribble the clock out why go to 5v5?

The whole thing about playing as a PG is to make the right play. As a pass first PG, my first objective is to make the pass to a teammate. However, I’ve recently tried to create more for myself and I see exactly where you come from. I don’t care if it’s me or my teammates who are open. Whoever is open gets the shot. That first play may have been a little bit on the selfish side but I can’t blame you for it. Also, you ain’t selfish. You just want teammates with IQ. Hard in randoms
guard your man unless their is a screen or sum dont expect people to help you make sure your man dont score leaving our man open. if u cant play defense one person will always be open might as well not play on the defensive side at all. yall be on 6'2 guards and cant even play the perimeter and too short to stop anything in the paint.
@@ChaseBurns-kc7xg Nah that ain’t how it goes. If I wanted to play 1V1 I’d go to the ones court. It’s a team game. Sometime you gotta help your team mates, that’s why you have em. Everybody gon slip up once in a while even if they got good defense.
There’s a difference between being a ball hog, and being a bucket getter. I had this experience yesterday, but I wasn’t the one going through it, it was the other team 😂 It was 2 guards (pretty sure they were both PGs) on the other team, these guys were tryna left right every possession and got boxed. My matchup quit within 2 mins of the game bc he didn’t even get to touch the basketball. The main guard playing PG went 0/11 before he decided to quit, by that point everybody except the other guard quit the game, and the PF stuck around til the last 30 seconds. The other guard stayed, shooting like 8/25 or somethin, dude only had 20 pts that entire game. Those dudes were ball hogging, and sold their team lmfao, I had a nice 12 pts and some steals so I was chillin. We all was in double figures too, I think the guards on my team had the most pts overall though. There’s nothing wrong with getting buckets in this game, however it is wrong to be trying so hard to get buckets, that you’re actually costing your team a chance to win. I’m not saying everybody is like that, it’s just starting to be more common now that people have main character syndrome.
Yea, you do ballhog. But you can get away with it because you're a good player. You basically said in the video that you only want them to shoot when you pass them ball to get your assists. Teammates will tolerate it if the game is close and see it as the best option to win, but its not fun for them to probably just be disinterested.
It’s not that I only want them to shoot when I pass, but if I give up the ball as opposed to looking to score, that’s how I’d like it to be. Because most of the time these guys aren’t good playmakers.
first quarter, on my big, I won't switch or help on defense because I am watching the guards on the other team to see if they pass or if they cook their defender. If they don't pass, I'll help in the paint if their defender is getting cooked. I almost always help on pick and roll. In transition, I am running to the paint for blocks and defensive rebounds. I always see guards doing the same and leaving the corners open for wide open transition threes.
That fact that people. Be staying on 45 two at the time but corner being empty is mind boggling. Corner was and still is the easiest and biggest % open shot. But people are scared to go in to the corner
The corner man is rarely passed to on 2k unless it’s cherry picked fast break shot . I know this cuz I’m a supreme corner sitter in 2k till I know the offense is going to 💩
@@Flameofblaze7corner shooters are mainly needed when the PG is an inside out (drive/kick out), sometimes you can backdoor but you gotta be in communication with PG.
@@CoachK_ I'm not targeting you specifically, but this mindset annoys me. To me its the same thoughts as people who don't want big men scoring. "You're supposed to rebound and defend!" @@Spawnamvs for one, a spot up that can create his own shot from tight spots like the corner is rare. yes not everyone gets the opportunities they feel they deserve, especially playing with randoms, but when you play with your squad these topics arent even a discussion.
As much as i be playing rec which is a love and hate relationship , i would have to say you didn’t ball hog you made the right choice to shoot that shot. you may never know the person who’s actually making shots the whole game can end up selling wide open and cost the game. Trust me ik, I’ve been there plenty of times
the dudes who complain the most about guards, are people who would drop donuts on PG, and would also only score off of fast breaks n someone else assisting them. Then that same person, if you miss them ONE TIME, will get ok the mic talking crazy. Even in the first quarter as a PG, you’re tryna figure out your teammates tendencies and the other team, but if you miss someone in the first 30 seconds of the first quarter; they’ll call a TO. Good floor spacing is a EASY, 15+ assist game, but randoms don’t know how to space the floor, then when you try to explain it to them, they just cuss you out
ball hogging can really be misinterpreted a lot. some games as a PG there isn't enough offensive production from everyone else, or worse players being on builds that don't provide complimentary advantages for other builds such as being on a non floor spacing build so now u gotta deal with condensed floor spacing. it sucks, every game isn't a walk in the park, so yeah we want the proper lineups out of randoms in the rec, doesn't always be like that. there's only 1 ball on the court.
I score when I can score. But if I see my teammates open, then I hit them so they don't complain, sell, and quit. I play 2 guard. I can get a bucket whenever i want. But everybody eats B. At least until they show me they can't play
I go into random rec looking to not get on the mic and just catch and shoot and get steals but then I watch a bunch of chickens run around so I have to get on comms to tell them to relax on offense… never ball hogging in mind if you like that and frying your man!
You can ball crazy but I couldnt do this. Couldn’t be me. In pro am I can but random rec smh nah!!! I’m all about winning but damn I wanna play also lol enjoy your POV for this video. You’re not wrong. Keep up the work 🫡
Day 1 of asking Dime if he can make a Kobe/Ant like shooting guard as one of/his first build for 2k25. I'm talking about a build 6'6 pure 3 level scorer that has great physicals (mainly speed) and can play ENOUGH defense to not get torched by the occasional matchup that can actually play.
I mostly play C in the rec and I will play help D up until a certain point. If I'm playing great D and helping but they keep dishing off to my guy or my guy is grabbing the boards and scoring, then I'm gonna eventually give up on the help. Wings and guards can't expect the C to cover for their bad D all the time. As a C you can be playing awesome D covering for everybody, but then your matchup is like 7 from 7..... nope, I'm gonna stick to my man, you shut down your guy. Put some attributes on perimeter D instead of putting it all into shooting and dribbling.
THANK YOU MY NIGGA IM A C as well and I be helping on the guards up top to but if my nigga is scoring and getting bounds im leaving them to die on tht island that’s why the other guards and wings should be rotating up but Im also up there too cuz my matchups I get are C that can shot as well like me then niggas get mad at me
Yes and no. Like yes the right play is to pass the ball to the open man, trust in your teammate and all that, especially if he’s been playing well. But, I think the RANDOM in random rec makes it hard trust that they’ll do right thing. It’s not like you have chemistry w the other people you’re playing with. The distrust of others intentions make it a hard decision

I’m not saying you are a ball hog, but when you do look a the stat sheet it does suggest it. You as the PG taking 28 shots and only one other person from your team having more than 5 shot attempts doesn’t actually look appealing. Especially when it appears that your teammates were making their shots. You’re scoring is obviously needed as you know how to get a bucket easily at any time, but sometimes it’s hard for teammates to get going when they’re barely getting touches as well….shoutout to you tho I enjoy your content
what you are talking about is only a problem when people wanna prioritize scoring and "being involved in the play" vs just winning the game it's insane ive literally seen people not pass they own teammates the ball just because they where scoring
The first clip when it was a three point game. You didn’t ball hog in the slightest. Your teammate went top of the key which applied pressure on the double to make two choices it was ultimate the defense fault for not one of them sticking onto you and making you force a bad shot with the shot clock winding down.
Honestly I would say you are in a good way cause you’re scoring the ball at different levels in ways to make the defense move once they do that you pass so I would also say no cause you know what you are doing and that’s trying to get the team open off you putting pressure on the defense by scoring
6'1s on 2k25 got pretty ass stats for style you like to play 90 3ball having 6'7 wingspan :D I think spillboy mentioned it. Answer to your question is if all squad can't make a open shoots or make a right read fuck em...you shoot as many bullets you can if they want to win....if not it will be L regardless so who gives a fuck if you take all shoots or no....if you have good teammates then it's different story.
Id say u made the right play u had a lane n took a layup. A good layup in most cases is better then an open 3. Though both are easy shots the open 3 can potentially be missed, ive nvr seen a layup that doesn’t get blocked with an open lane not go in lol. For ur game winning play thats one of those me personally id pass to the open man but that my play style. Even if ur taken crazy shots, if there going in, i got nothing to complain and will keep feeding you to do ur thing till it proves to not be a good decision anymore

I've saying all year why is everybody scared to sit in the corner? And then don't get me started with the constant cutting. I was trying to utilize a man with 96 driving dunks but he kept getting cut off. It was his man or the center, it was his teammates. People see other players scoring more than them so they do everything in their power to disrupt what's already working.

Me going up on multiple defenders with people wide open in the corners IS CRAZY! I’d have to see it to believe it 😂 salute anyway fam 💪💯
I feel like it’s a difference between being a ball hog and knowing you’re the bucket getter on the squad! 🏀🐗
💯‼️
2:28 I'm definitely that type of player, but of course I have a reason. When I play help defense, my man ALWAYS scores. As someone who mostly played with randoms from 2K16 - 2K22, I had to learn to lock down my own opp. Helping other people who should know how to play defense only lead me to losses
I hear you bro…it’s a tough situation with randoms. 💯
FACTS
2k as a community needs to seperate players by how many games they've played in the rec, and allow the process of grinding badges to be easier for worse/new
Players. Or else, this won't change.
This man started preaching and I felt every bit of it.

im hoping this bigger court helps, I only play at the 5 so pnr should be better and no more being able to cover paint + wing in 1 step. it's also the "ball hogs" that can open things up, so I'll take them
I would say it was about taking a smarter shot wasn’t a ballhawk play
My squad and I go back and forth on this all the time. The moment I point something out, they respon "my man only got two points". Yes, he does, but you're allowing him to orchestrate the offense. Or they're over helping, forcing you to pick up their guy, now your man scoring. Crazy out here.

One thing I hate about rec randoms is everybody forget wtf spacing is , how to rotate , understanding WHEN to cut.
Nah bro, you aint wrong, everything you saying straight fucking facts
Salute my g! 💪💯
So you just want to score?
Shot hunting PGs can be a nightmare, but a lot of players don’t allow themselves to be set up. Their spacing is always terrible. It’s not just on the PG. 💯
@@OgSenseiAce Yes alot of people want to score not win and its sad.
@@OgSenseiAcelmao comprehension. It's about getting the opportunity to touch the ball. They have a 1v1 count for a reason. If you want to put up all the shots and dribble the clock out why go to 5v5?

When you KNOW you can get a bucket TO ME the art of the game is to figure out the puzzle. I'll swing the rock and play defense until they let the game slip. If I'm the primary ball handler it shouldn't be no desperation for a bucket. Once they cold as ice ❄️ ain't nothing nobody can say when i go on my run 🤷🏾♂️

People say I’m a ball hog too. But I try not to make PGs. So if I get the rock in a scoring position, I’m looking for a bucket
There’s a difference between being a ball hog, and being a bucket getter. I had this experience yesterday, but I wasn’t the one going through it, it was the other team 😂
It was 2 guards (pretty sure they were both PGs) on the other team, these guys were tryna left right every possession and got boxed.
Dime you my guy But we know what to expect with these randoms cmon dawg 🤣
Yea, you do ballhog. But you can get away with it because you're a good player. You basically said in the video that you only want them to shoot when you pass them ball to get your assists.
Teammates will tolerate it if the game is close and see it as the best option to win, but its not fun for them to probably just be disinterested.
It’s not that I only want them to shoot when I pass, but if I give up the ball as opposed to looking to score, that’s how I’d like it to be. Because most of the time these guys aren’t good playmakers.
Preciate you keeping your word and showing the jumpshot.
You already know fam 💪💯
@@Dimework just came back to say this jumper is definitely as smooth as it looks.
first quarter, on my big, I won't switch or help on defense because I am watching the guards on the other team to see if they pass or if they cook their defender. If they don't pass, I'll help in the paint if their defender is getting cooked. I almost always help on pick and roll. In transition, I am running to the paint for blocks and defensive rebounds. I always see guards doing the same and leaving the corners open for wide open transition threes.
Nun but facts bro I play the same way as pg. Everything you saying is facts.
If you shooting at a good clip then you’re just the number 1 option 😂😂😂😂

That fact that people. Be staying on 45 two at the time but corner being empty is mind boggling. Corner was and still is the easiest and biggest % open shot. But people are scared to go in to the corner
I’ll never understand it bro…I hate when mfs do that shyt!
"You're supposed to rebound and defend!"
Responding to his statement about not getting the ball with "Oh that's your job unless you have a certain point guard" is why people tune out of games imo
@@Spawnamvs for one, a spot up that can create his own shot from tight spots like the corner is rare. yes not everyone gets the opportunities they feel they deserve, especially playing with randoms, but when you play with your squad these topics arent even a discussion.
As much as i be playing rec which is a love and hate relationship , i would have to say you didn’t ball hog you made the right choice to shoot that shot. you may never know the person who’s actually making shots the whole game can end up selling wide open and cost the game. I need to see some work from you early on 25 bro. Please keep grinding.
the dudes who complain the most about guards, are people who would drop donuts on PG, and would also only score off of fast breaks n someone else assisting them. Then that same person, if you miss them ONE TIME, will get ok the mic talking crazy. Even in the first quarter as a PG, you’re tryna figure out your teammates tendencies and the other team, but if you miss someone in the first 30 seconds of the first quarter; they’ll call a TO. Good floor spacing is a EASY, 15+ assist game, but randoms don’t know how to space the floor, then when you try to explain it to them, they just cuss you out
i laugh every time you upload a vid because you been saying shit i been saying for years ! 😂
😂🤝
ball hogging can really be misinterpreted a lot. some games as a PG there isn't enough offensive production from everyone else, or worse players being on builds that don't provide complimentary advantages for other builds such as being on a non floor spacing build so now u gotta deal with condensed floor spacing. it sucks, every game isn't a walk in the park, so yeah we want the proper lineups out of randoms in the rec, doesn't always be like that. there's only 1 ball on the court.
I score when I can score. But if I see my teammates open, then I hit them so they don't complain, sell, and quit. I play 2 guard. I can get a bucket whenever i want. But everybody eats B. At least until they show me they can't play
i use this build i like it a lot you can drop a lot of dimes and shoot and the build just feels different movement wise
Big facts bro! People say SWB doesn’t matter, but it definitely makes a difference. This is one of my favorite guard builds. 💪💯
If someone cooking and he doing it within the flow of the offense and we winning its all good lets get that dub.
I feel that! 💯‼️
I go into random rec looking to not get on the mic and just catch and shoot and get steals but then I watch a bunch of chickens run around so I have to get on comms to tell them to relax on offense… never ball hogging in mind if you like that and frying your man!
