Anybody remember when Xzibit was hyped up to be the newest big star on the west after Chronic 2001 and the Up in Smoke Tour? He released the double platinum album Restless it was a classic and one of my first albums I got only in 5th grade
@@themadrapper101 love that album. I didn't really become a HipHop Fanatic until 5th grade myself...arguably 7th grade is when I went all in, but I hears My name is when I was in 5th grade and was hooked. Got introduced to all of Aftermath and the legends in the making through that streamline. My lil bro however, was EARLY. He was buying WestCoast connection and NWA in like 2nd grade 😂 he grew out of it as he got older but I remember going through his old stash of CDs as a teenager just curious what gold lil bro had in there. I wa sin my late teens too, maybe even 19 or 20...anyway I found restless and was blown away. My buddy Joe was a bug fan of it back in the day, and I absolutely LOVED Xzibit on the Chronic 2001 and every feature he did. I was a big improvement Bizkit fan for 2 albums lol Significant other and Choclate StarFish and the horror flavored water, and Xzibit was on the latter of the 2 and even killed that. I recall my bro buying a bootleg Xzibit Cd on a trip to New York back when he was in 5th grade and I was in 9th too. Just never did my own album deep dive for whatever reason. I was a HUGE STAN at the time and prided myself on knowing EVERY Eminem feature and mixture appearance or live performance recording etc. Somehow I missed the Don't approach me song! Shit slapped and was such a pleasant surprise in am Era where Eminem had disappeared and returned with release which I appreciate more now, but was bizarrely confused and disappointed with at the time. Restless was so fucking good. I gotta say Obie Trice Cheers is one of my fave HipHop albums of all time btw. He's so underrated! His alcoholism and proof being killed and the whole downfall of shady for awhile derailed his legendary climb and nothing really hit like that one album..bottoms up is good but Cheers is a certified CLASSIC. Club bangers, deep introspective complex lyrical songs. Emotional dark poetic hypnotic fire, whacky goofy tongue in cheek humour tracks and all..love it. I got to see him live and Dap him and his bodyguard up b4 the show. I'm in a small ass town and Obie was crossing through to a larger venue but a local streetcar ship owner was from Detoeit originally and had the connect having Obie come through to lil old Saint John NB Canada lol Exhibition Park raceway of all places, where local.cointry acts and flea market swap meets ate held 😂😂😂 this was around 2007, so past his prime for sure but not all that far removed from my regular Playlist. Especially at that time when an album could easily stay in heavy rotation for a few years. I drunkenly freestyled for him and was 18 or 19 and in my glory lmao dude took a solid 2mins to say what's up and vibe b4 his bodyguard took him away. Just saw your profile pic and needed to share the love brother. Take care man ✌️💯

Fire! Happy to see Real Hip hop again.
The Reincarnation of the G-Funk!
Doggystyleeee has a dope catalogue already at just a young age.
Dope. My first time having the pleasure of hearing dude. Got a modern snoop with some Nipsey Bravado and a dash of Kurupt. All that without being a trash emulation. Comes off real Authentic. I hope this Superbowl and New Death Row Records acquisition usher in a few years of fresh WestCoast talent again. Much like the Game and Black Eallstreet era, the Top Dawg ent Era, the YG and Dj Mustard and Problem Era...there's always a nice rotation if Westcoast talent that pop out every 3 or 4 years. Love to see it.
