'How do i put myself out there _without_ a stage'... wow. That line hit me - social interaction and big events (conferences, sports, political conventions, seminars,...) will never be the same. Time for the infinite game for one and all. Just a thought - the new 'stage' may be virtual/online conferences and i wonder is this virtual reality's time to shine with a physically-distanced container for interaction; may even turn out being more interactive than in real life, certainly more of a level playing field. A brave new world - and hopefully not the dystopian sort. Stay optimistic. Great work Simon + Co.
Eventually stages will come back though. It’s not like this pandemic is going to permanently end conferences and sporting events. Hell if people forgot 08 after a few years of good times what makes anyone think this is going to permanently change our behavior.

Stopped midway. Now I know that I am in 're-invention' mode. My plans to open a small Cafe next year, solely from savings, has come into question. Drawing down those savings at this time is essential; and comforting to know that I can. My thoughts turned to how I could adapt my plans to allow for - anticipate - and bridge events like this. Social distancing is only temporary - we are a social species. I will be looking at how to keep operating in non-traditional ways. Thanks for this confirmation.

To be honest, Simon sounds similar to Joel Osteen. I watch him for motivational purposes as well snd still currently reading one of his books "Blessed In The Darkness: How Things are working for your good." When Simon mentioned darkness, that book came to mind. In a way, things will work out for your good if you reinvent yourself and have a different perspective.
Great stuff Simon. I couldn't agree more. There will many "white spaces" that open up during this time that will need to be filled by people/companies/services. The people/companies willing to change/adapt will thrive and grow. The ones waiting for things to "go back to normal" will struggle or no longer be in business.
Interesting thoughts, so we all will learn new ways to better express ourselves, in the most genuine way, to adapt and change to this environment, and in effect, reinventing ourselves (or our companies) . Seeing your staff's faces was significant for me. That's how we're all feeling. When the one guy said "find new jobs here right, like within the company" that gave me pause. I'm a photographer doing mostly corporate events and dinners etc. The rest of my income is weddings and such. Every revenue stream I've relied on for the last 18 months (since leaving my lecturing post) has been made essentially illegal by this virus. All public gatherings have been banned here in South Africa and now we're under a 21 day lock down. I'm still trying to figure out what to do now. And if my business will even exist after this.

Heck ya. Everyone likes to think and say things are amazing different or revolutionary and new generations are different and instead things are changing as they always do and will. Yes maybe faster but these things always change and challenges come.
What we are going through now is absolutely unprecedented. No one under 75 years old has been through anything close to this. It is good to be optimistic, but be realistic too. Keep up with what is going on on a global scale. Plan to recover and thrive, but keep your eye on things going on now that will affect those plans when this is over. It is still early.
