The way Lincoln was looking up at Mommy while she was talking. Bonnie has such an amazing bond with each of her children…but the bond between mommy and baby of the family is something extra special! Sending lots of love and positive healing vibes ❤

Well Mr. Lincoln and I have something in common. I lost mine too. I was about his age and my older brother got annoyed with me and slammed the heavy garage door on my pinky and it came right off. My parents did the same thing you both did. They put it on ice and rushed me to the doctors. The doctors told my mom the same thing that they couldn't put it back on. My Mom completely lost it and told them they will put it back on no matter what. They ending up putting my pinky back on and somehow it healed perfectly normal. They were shocked! I'm 40 years old now and it still shocks the doctors at how well it healed and the fact I have feeling in it. I will be praying for Lincoln. I know he will heal up and it will all turn out great!

This is such a story of parenthood. I avoided trampoline parks for years and finally took my kids for my sons 4th birthday, he broke his leg within 5 minutes of getting in there. On his birthday. It was terrible. I guess this is a sign we need to follow our instincts.

My grandpa lost about half of his pinky finger in a lawn mower accident when he was a kid - the fact that it’s gone is one of my favorite things. He jokes about it and types differently on the computer because of it and I love it. It makes him unique and he embraces it just like we all do. Every little injury and scar just makes you more YOU!

This summer I was cleaning all of our kitchen gadgets/appliances. My hubby does the cooking so I don’t know what half of them are. Deeply cut the tip of my finger {it’s still numb today}. After your video I looked up what a mandoline was {remember I don’t cook} and was like oh my heck THAT’S what I cut my finger on! Those things are NO joke sharp! I feel ya, Lincoln! All your kids are amazing, but I honestly could not see any of the others handling this the way he has. Its like a cool battle scar for him now that its all over. Like nothing ever happened. So how exactly did it happen? Was he just checking out the mandolin to see what was up, or did he try to cut something with it? Or do you guys even know what really happened? I know it was an accident, but I don't understand why you even had it left out on the counter, knowing it's dangerous. I'm a chef and have a mandolin and I NEVER walk away from it if it's out. I only have it out while I'm using it, then I immediately wash it and pack it away. It's a great tool to have in the kitchen, but it should always be kept out of the reach of children, same with sharp knives and matches and lighters. Anything can happen in the blink of an eye. I'm glad it wasn't worse.

It’s not as traumatic issue since I was born with this, but I have fairly severely crooked pinkies (called clinodactyly) and the only way having abnormal digits has affected me is because I worry whether they’ll affect an activity…they almost always don’t. Praying this will be a hardly noticeable issue for Lincoln, but in case it is a hindrance, make sure he knows there are almost always ways around it! For me, it means I play guitar a little different than people with regular pinkies. It should be manageable, God willing 💕

Bonnie, my dad worked at a saw mill and cut off his middle, ring and pinky finger. It hasn’t changed his ability to do things in life at all. Praying for quick healing Lincoln!

Use a steel mesh glove with the mandolin. The guards don't guard well enough.

Had something similar happen when my two boys was little. They was arguing under a tree and playing with their little cars and one took a shovel to stop the other from getting the car. The shovel got the tip of his fingers. So much chaos their dad wasn’t doing well with this (weak stomach) I run it under the water to see how badly it was and the tip was hanging by 1 tiny shred of skin. Their dad well by the time we got to the ER I sat with my son as they worked on him while nurses attended to their dad. They were able to save it no surgery they used another method. And his finger was totally fine after healing and can’t even tell it at all. When I saw the title my heart hurt for you all and instantly took me back to yesteryear’s. Sending love and prayers. ♥️

So the real question is did you throw away the mandolin? I got a nasty cut from using ours and I was using the guard. My hand slipped and I knew instantly I was hurt. My husband still uses it but I feel sick to my stomach even looking at it and it’s been two years. Hugs to a quick and clean recovery.

OMG! The picture of dad on the floor with feet in the air, doctor takes a look and says "he's good" and then turns back to the patient ..... so funny. 😆

Aww, poor little Linky, lost his pinky - sorry, couldn't resist! As a parent, it hurts so much when your kids injure themselves, its because we can't fix it. My son had a bike accident when he was little, and you could see his teeth through the cut on his face. His poor face was so swollen, and he couldn't eat. It still makes me cry 15 years later. You did exactly what you should have done, and he will be fine. Tell him girls love a good scar, so he's going to be popular! Insert tik tok song here! Love to you all xx

I bought a mandolin for our kitchen. The first time I used it, I sliced the stew out of my finger. I am a grandmother, your mother's age. I play piano and played professionally touring for many years. Now, in retirement, I paint. This accident scared me so bad that mandolin went straight in the trash. We are praying for sweet Lincoln.

That is really brave. When I was nannying for a little boy that lived across the street from my parents and his sister, who had cerebral palsy and was mentally challenged my sister, and I were sitting on our front porch and heard yelling, and turns out the little girl had accidentally stepped on a shovel that was sitting on the little boys toe, so I’ve been through this. I actually tried to put his toe back on in a couple days later his body rejected it, so he ended up without it anyway which now, as an adult looks like the very tip of his toe it doesn’t even look as severe as it looked at the time.
