If you look at other countries surf competitions you can see they have lifeguards on stand by on their jet skis in case of an emergency like this. Where are those helpers?? Usually they are on stand by behind the waves. I have been to competitions in the US and Australia. If you watch on ESPN in other countries they have lifeguards on the water. Riptides are no joke. Bad organizing again.
