You were right. Same exact thing. The connector was corroded at the bottom from water getting in. Man you saved me a lot of time and money! I was searching Porsche forums, and the net for weeks and no one had a straight answer. Even took it to my Porsche dealer and he just replaced the door switch and wanted me to come back another day to search for the problem. Thank you again!
I am having a similar problem, will check the connectors next week. Did you get a new connector or did you fix it differently? Any idea where to get a new connector or what the part number is?
@stefandenengelsman2540 yeah I know the part numbers for the connectors and the pins. Just gotta read the part number on the connector and order the correct pig tail sizes for the pins.
@@stefandenengelsman2540 if you want to get the actual part, I use Pelican Parts for all my Porsches. I have a Boxster, Cayenne, and a 911. They have tons of diagrams, tips, tricks, they respond by email within 24 hours if you have any questions about a part, and they have everything
This is exactly what my Cayenne is doing. I've been searching everywhere for a solution and this is the only good information I've seen so far. Thank you!!
I hope it helps brother. Note I believe this cayenne was involved in a collision and they didn't put the connectors on correctly or they were exposed to the elements causing the corrosion to start. Keep us updated if you locate the issue
@@MyHomeGarage I plan on looking at it this weekend and I will let you know. I was going to start at the door panel, so I'm really grateful for your video. I even took it to the dealer last Friday. They put a new door switch and told me to drop it off tomorrow, but I don't really want an unexpected fortune, so I'm going to inspect it myself!
It's funny you say that, I had a Touareg just before I purchased the Cayenne. 😂 But every time I would buy parts for the Touareg, the guys at the parts store would always mess with me, telling me I'm buying Porsche Cayenne parts, to put on a old Touareg. 😂 Thanks for the information, I'll invest in buying my own scanner. And if you're ever in Chicago again, at least for a few days, let me know, because a good Porsche mechanic is hard to come by in Chicago. 👍🏽
Haha. Yeah it’s the Porsche tax lol. They can be intimidating but once you realize a cars a car and as long as you have the service information you can resolve and diagnose most issues. They become less intimidating
Parts numbers are written on connectors. And then you need to order correct size wire. I’d have to go and find them email me I’ll send you a picture. MyHomeGarage@protonmail.com…
Hey! Got exactly the same issue, but the corrosion is too bad on the female side (car), any idea what is the part number and how to replace that ? BTW, your video is awesome!
Terminals housing 7P0-937-722 / 7P0-937-702…. Wires with terminals 000-979-226-EA / 000-979-242-E…. Email me if this isn’t is there is more written on packages but I believe those are actual part numbers
My terminals are perfectly fine but the carpets were wet from air conditioning. If I took the fuse out #14 and put back in the window worked. Eventually that stopped working. Now my window is stuck down. Recently reconnected two pinkish wires that caused the brake propulsion warning. Any thoughts on what is causing the power outage? Speaker works. Gas latch fails now and happened same day window control and lock control went out.
Hey bro, I got a similar issue with my 2009 Porsche Cayenne. The power locks on the driver side door isn't working. Do you have a video explain how to fix my issue? And if you do, could you please tag me in it? Thank you
We’ll the 2009 is previous generation. The communication and wiring is completely different. If you supplied me a wiring diagram I could tell you everything you need to know. But a hood place to start would be wiggling that harness between the vehicle and the door. Broken wires are very common.
@@MyHomeGarage hey bro I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. Unfortunately, a lot of TH-camrs don't respond to their viewers. So I definitely appreciate it. I must say I like how detailed you are in your video, and I wish you were in Chicago, because I would definitely want you to work on my car.
@@BarbermanMalik no problem. Even if I can guide you in the right direction. If you had a scanner you could check to see if the switch works and rule that out. I’ve been to Chicago . We picked up a car there in Joliet. Just always remember the cayenne and the Touareg share electronics. So make sure you search the net for any issues or solutions that work for both.
