On the road again. I was singing that. LOL. Willie Nelson. Eleanor was lovely. I can understand plastic, but the wooden cutlery puts me off too. I would rather not eat. Happy Monday. Wishing you a great week. x
I used to always use Manchester to NYC via Dublin for the preclearance but I did Manchester to NYC direct last year both with aerlingus and the direct was far quicker through security at jfk than dublin
See the weather in Dublin didn't disappoint. I'm 70 and was bought up to believe it was rude to wear a hat indoors, if you were a man. Times change I know, but it always rankles with me. When I see a gentleman wearing a hat indoors.
Yer know what, it amazes me when I watch your Vidz that many people still bring on a backpack plus case and take up double the room in the overhead compartment, they should be considerate like you and check the damn case in!!!
east mids have the new trial security area now, so u dont have to take liquids or electronics out :) took me literally 2 mins to go thro at the end of october :) going from east mids on tues for benidorm :)
I once had to go to Dublin for the day to attend a business meeting. My company booked me on Aer Lingus in business class out of Heathrow. This was back in the mid-90s, when EI offered a champagne breakfast to business class passengers. There were so many in business class on that early morning flight that the economy section was about three rows at the back! That early morning champagne buzz made it a great flight! 😊
I've only ever flown from Manchester internationally, as it's the most convenient for me to use. I always went from and to T2, as all my journeys were west to east. I always found it a pleasant enough place to be in, but then, it's the only experience I've had so can't draw any comparisons.
I saw you at the airport last week you whilst were checking the screens by the aer lingus desks at the airport but i was busy screening on the oversize Baggage inspection belt lol , i'm actually in the background very early in the video :) .. it's T2 with the 3d scanners it's much better Lee .. so we've had both you and Geoff carter go through in the past two weeks lol ..
Thank you for filming the vlog. Great information because I'm going to St Louis next year for a family wedding, I think I will fly from Dublin to save time in US immigration
Another great video, Lee. I have dual nationality, so I use my Canadian passport going to Canada or the USA and my British passport returning to the UK. Makes life a lot easier and no visa payments.
Back fourth back fourth ✈️ , don’t you get fed up with it . Great to clear immigration in Ireland I did that on the BA001 from LCY Shannon New York on the A318 it was lovely when there was 2 hour lines at jfk
Aer Lingus is part of the IAG group which was formed when BA and Iberia Merged. Have considered flying with Aer Lingus to Florida with the kids would save so much time at Border control in MCO which always use to be a nightmare but the new terminal there might of solved that problem.
Gatwick was the most efficient airport I’ve flown with recently, don’t know if I was lucky but parking, check in, security, and customs and baggage when returning was so fast. Nothings been close recently at any other airport.
How many times do you reckon you’ve been to America in total (including when you lived there)? I’ve been around 25 times, mostly in the last few years. And how many countries have you been to?
I've been flying from Manchester Airport since 1973. At terminal 1 (which was the only terminal) where you are airside used to be landside with the large chandeliers. You could go there and use the cafes bars shops etc. You could drop passengers off outside the doors for free or go into the car park and hand your car over to a guy when you used the chauffeur service again for free.
13:53 Smirnoff Blue 50% 1 lt at £12.99; is one of the rare bargains in world duty free at uk airports, but they do try to hide it behind the Red Smirnoff which is only 40%. Otherwise it’s an very expensive duty free shopping experience. If your after a cheap litre of Jameson Ryanair do a litre bottle onboard duty free flights for €20.00 but it’s a gamble if they have it in stock or not 😅
20:45 that Aer Lingus breakfast is excellent but it’s very hard to encounter and buy these days 😅 they only load I think 5 and it’s just in flights before 11am. You could pre order a few years ago but they stopped that. Also the hot breakfast is only getable on A320/321 flights to/from Ireland UK and Europe NOT the ATR flights on Aer Lingus regional flights.
Hi Lee, we flew Aer Lingus to Los Angeles on a tour in 2018. Our flight to Dublin from Manchester was on a propeller driven plane, but going through American immigration in Dublin was brilliant. Landing in LA was straight to baggage reclaim and we were gone!
I don't have global entry and they didn't take my finger prints at JFK a few weeks back, and we don't need USB C, I was delivering a VW yesterday only USB-C sockets highly annoying.
When me and Leanne went in September. It was less than 40 minutes to get through immigration.. but ended up waiting over an hour for our private pick..
Hey hun I am here watching you . don't like Manchester airport . I prefer Liverpool John Lennon Airport I love the way you put your thumb up and smile . it makes me smile aswell xxx❤❤
Another security funny moment was in America. Wife had her hair done and dyed it. Which i said made her look like Rosey West. So up to passport control we walked in NY. Scaned my Eyeball and Checked me out. As i walked forward i said you want to watch the Lady behind because im sure its Rosey West. My wifes face was a picture and my 2 sons were rolling on the floor laughing. Security guy said is he with you to my wife. She said yes sadly. Had some good fun with airport security over the years i must admit.
Lee. Can't really understand why you were not really happy with Aer Lingus. I've used them on DIRECT flights from Newark and JFK to Shannon. Except for Irish food, everything was great. I think you rated them a little lower ONLY because of a connecting flight.
I'm heading over to New York in Feb on Aer Lingus, so that was a great watch 👌. Along with fiddler on the roof & Leprechauns, nobody actually says top of the morning in Ireland 😂😂. Forget Supermacs , you need to try a chicken fillet roll from Spar😂. CBP in Dublin is a big draw for the airport & one of only a few outside of the states. Top videos, especially the EV content.👍
I’m from Dublin and have flown to the us number of times and it’s a gift to do pre clearance here. One time I flew threw Gatwick to Orlando and was an hour and a half waiting to go threw at Orlando wouldn’t be doing that again
i have a 1960s green aer Lingus bag from when my Dad worked as an aero engineer for McDonald Douglas they gave the bags for people to put there duty free products in !
I don’t understand why people are giving such a problem if silver fox got your package cheaper here then over in uk what’s the problem he got you deal and it’s always nice seeing you back here USA :) welcome back for two days waiting for the video while you’re here
Top of the morning Lee, Jesus Wept, sounds like a bit of Paddy Whackery take it from an Irish man nobody and I mean nobody in Ireland ever ever said top of the morning to anybody.
I’d say 90% of the time when I fly to Europe, I fly through Dublin. I absolutely love using Global Entry it’s so great that they have a US port of entry there. Dublin airport is super convenient and Aer Lingus is great they always offer cheap upgrades to business class.
Lee, while you were talking about the life jacket and whistle the guy behind you was eyeballing you like you were nuts, but you caught him picking his nose!
So weird you doing this video because me and family are doing the identical trip for Xmas in New York and was wondering how it all works. So this video came in very useful so nice one Lee 👍🏻
I think Manchester is my least favourite airport, always a hassle trying to get through there. I don't even mind Heathrow in comparison. My new favourite is Newcastle
Fantastic video Lee! Travel day videos are great! Manchester airport isn’t that bad! T2 has the new scanners which are fab! Only issue was the DJI mic 2 noise suppression it made the sound awful :-( I never use that option it sounds like you were speaking in a fish bowl 😂😂. Keep up the great work Lee! Amazing!! ❤❤
So I hear you’re heading back Downunder Lee, to Melbourne in Feb (my Mum’s home town) looking forward to that, let me know if you need any tips on good places to go, reckon you’ve got to do a Goldcoast plus Outback trip someday soon too…
Lee as long as your global entry is renewed you should be good to go. The new card took a while to come in but was able to travel without the new card and use the global entry line.
I should imagine the grogginess is down to the Aircraft Air Conditioning, my wife feels terrible pretty much after every flight and I felt groggy on a recent flight back from Zante. Onwards my Friend!
Lee, I understand T1 will be closed when the upgrade to T2 is completed. Not sure if the plan is to demolish or upgrade T1. We always plan to fly Virgin or TUI from T2 (far better experience) if we can. Strangely Aer Lingus UK flies from T2, I think.
Great video as always We much prefer Aer Lingus to RA We think Staff are friendlier & no extra charges like RA for hand luggage etc though do agree in cabin prices are expensive that’s expensive Dublin & Failté ( welcome) 🍀💚 of course the dominant colour was green lol 🍀Glad you enjoyed your flight x👍👍💚
The pre clearance is the best I travel to NY quiet abit it's very handy Aer Lingus staff are always so friendly but the US carrier's also fly out of Ireland aswell and can be cheaper then Aer Lingus Shannon Airport in Ireland also does flight's to the US so there is plenty of options to shop around for good prices.
Hi Lee - the easiest way to get to Manchester Airport is by train - it takes you into the airport and only a short walk to all the terminals. Also there is a huge revamp happening where most of the flights will be going from T2. Love all your videos - I live just south of Kendal so know all your local hangouts in this area, keep safe and thank you. Now onwards
Aer Lingus - the best airline Ive ever been on. Used to go to Dublin twice a year, always friendly staff and enjoyable flights.
If I was flying Air Lingus I’d always ask for seat 2B and make them acknowledge it. 2B sure!!😂
On the road again. I was singing that. LOL. Willie Nelson.
Eleanor was lovely.
I can understand plastic, but the wooden cutlery puts me off too. I would rather not eat.
Happy Monday.
Wishing you a great week. x
Hi Lee. Came in from work and put this straight on. Brilliant vlog. Enjoy yourself and take care❤
Thank You x
We love flying with aer lingus from dublin to usa 🇺🇸 can't fault them
From a well travelled Dubliner, good video... Interesting to see the transit perspective through Dublin from UK to US...
Hurtling into the ocean at 500 miles per hour, I'm sure glad I have a whistle and a life jacket..
Macmaster, your my favourite blogger, keep up the good work mate 👍
Nice 😊
Do love the calming music you put on your videos, Lee, with your editing.
Thanks Roger.
Me too Roger, the music really works.
Aer lingus. I flew manchester to jfk i loved aer lingus. Great staff, food and movies. Very attentive and caring.
I used to always use Manchester to NYC via Dublin for the preclearance but I did Manchester to NYC direct last year both with aerlingus and the direct was far quicker through security at jfk than dublin
Top of the morning says nobody ever in Ireland.
The supposedly Irish 'House of Pain' used to say it. Did they make it up?🤔
See the weather in Dublin didn't disappoint. I'm 70 and was bought up to believe it was rude to wear a hat indoors, if you were a man. Times change I know, but it always rankles with me. When I see a gentleman wearing a hat indoors.
Another great Vlog enjoyed every minute keep up the good work
Loved traveling with you. Don't have too much fun with The Silver Fox. Be careful in NY.
Have you tried the non alcholic guinness......its brill xxGreat vlog n soothing incidental music too xx
Yer know what, it amazes me when I watch your Vidz that many people still bring on a backpack plus case and take up double the room in the overhead compartment, they should be considerate like you and check the damn case in!!!

MISTER MACMASTER Another excellent vlog 👌🎉

We were at T1 Manchester last week its an old dump , only 4 seats to sit down on while waiting for gate to open and no where to have a brew .
Lee, I pray for you for the luck of the Irish: "May the sun shine warm upon your face, may the wind be always at your back".
I flew Aer Lingus Manchester to Dublin back in 1967, twin prop plane with outside toilet.
When Thomas Cook failed 5 years ago and left us hanging we came back to Seattle with Air Lingus, great airline and great people.
You always look really happy when you are traveling ❤
Always look forward to your videos on an evening Lee.
Love these videos Lee , makes me so jealous. Love the whole airport experience. These are by far your best content. Keep up the good work .
I've only ever flown from Manchester internationally, as it's the most convenient for me to use. I always went from and to T2, as all my journeys were west to east. I always found it a pleasant enough place to be in, but then, it's the only experience I've had so can't draw any comparisons.
Great video as always! Jaysus you’re almost at the 200k. So proud of you
Luv ‘Aer Fungus’ flew with them several times in the 90s and 2000s…
Another cracking vid. A long way to go get a bag fixed buy hey…it’s NYC so always worth the trip!
Terminal 1 at Manchester is closing next year. All moving to terminal 2. Think that’s why they’ve not got the new scanners there.
Great video Lee! Not one but TWO flights! Great stuff! Enjoy New York!

10 out if 10 for the volg love it
Quality vlog Lee and put together superbly (as usual). Onwards 😊…

I was there for almost 12 years.
You’ve probably flown at least 50 times from the UK to America then. If you still lived there then your channel might be called TheBigMacMaster.
Dinosaur Pajamas, need I saw more, Love your smooth music choices Lee, Thanks.
This is a very nice ambient video today Lee ❤. Have fun Catherine

I'm also going to Australia in about February's time
Hope you can meet me The MacMaster
2:30 If you're lost already, just ask someone where the AIRPORT is. It must be near by, somewhere close.
Im assuming Lee is sat in new York editing somewhere supping Jameson lol
If lee is drinking jameson's hope he doesn't lose his bottle?!
12:58 What is zis phone, lol, that's funny little 20 seconds 😊

Aer Lingus incredibly nice staff
I met shannon on aer lingus she was a nice girl!
We always fly with aer lingus to the 🇺🇸 so handy doing your customs clearance in dublin
Top of the morning Lee, Jesus Wept, sounds like a bit of Paddy Whackery take it from an Irish man nobody and I mean nobody in Ireland ever ever said top of the morning to anybody.
Maybe he is ignorant, but jibes like this were once common in England. Always said with a stupid voice to intimidate more.
I’d say 90% of the time when I fly to Europe, I fly through Dublin. I absolutely love using Global Entry it’s so great that they have a US port of entry there.
Dublin airport is super convenient and Aer Lingus is great they always offer cheap upgrades to business class.
Don't get venison in the food hall at Dublin airport,it's really deer.
Love Ireland. I'd have got off there! 🍀
Yesss the airport is back im happy now cheers mate 😁
Those seats looked very narrow so it's a good thing you weren't any wider Lee. 😂
Lee, while you were talking about the life jacket and whistle the guy behind you was eyeballing you like you were nuts, but you caught him picking his nose!

Aer Lingus is top tier for me, and the wee go raibh maith agat on arrival.
Does it have to be an Uber or do they have ordinary taxis?
The amount of times I’ve traveled through terminal 1 at Manchester airport and next year it’s going, so many memories 😢
So I hear you’re heading back Downunder Lee, to Melbourne in Feb (my Mum’s home town) looking forward to that, let me know if you need any tips on good places to go, reckon you’ve got to do a Goldcoast plus Outback trip someday soon too…

For the information, the front of the food menu it says "Bia", this means "Food" in Gaeilge (Irish Language)
bìa pronounced as bee a
I should imagine the grogginess is down to the Aircraft Air Conditioning, my wife feels terrible pretty much after every flight and I felt groggy on a recent flight back from Zante. Onwards my Friend!
They are closing T1 next year due to upgraded T2
Looked alright those two flights.
Gaz Yorkshire.
My most favourite video mate travel day onwards my friend let's go and don't forget duty free 😉

Let's go ❤ I love Irish music and food and history etc

Duty free!!! Bailey's for 1 litre in Sainsbury's with a nectar card is only £9.99. Where do they get their prices?
