      So you are roofing company who only offer roof replacement and have no option for the home owners who could use little TLC or roof repair? I stand corrected: don’t tell me I need a new roof if you cannot repair it. So the only option you have for me is replacement because you chose not to do repairs? How can I trust your recommendation? How often you tell home owners their roof can be repaired and they need to call someone else because you don’t do that kind of service.

      @@RoofingInsights3.0 We no longer have that conversation with a homeowner. We don't advertise that we do repair work so even if someone calls in and asks about it we tell them and are honest that we don't do it. We can either recommend someone local or we say if indeed you do need a replacement please call us back and we can certainly provide an estimate. That's the business that I'm in, that's the service that I offer and that's what I choose to do. Example... When your at a heart doctor appointment you don't ask the Dr. to look at your feet do you? You're a good guy Dmitry but I just think it's a little abrasive topic for me. How many guys overcharge for small repairs? Now that's a topic!

      Doctor analogy makes no sense. It’s actually makes sense for me. I wouldn’t go to a doctor who only do surgeries. Roofing companies who choose not to do repairs are sales organizations who do disservice to the home owners. No reason for it. I am sure you are successful but would More successful if you do repairs.

    • @RoofingInsights3.0
      @RoofingInsights3.0  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Everyone have complaints. But If home owner calls roofing company and they told him he needs a new roof but they don't do repairs: can he trust them? Not all roofs needs repairs. Its crazy that 70% of roofing companies don't do repairs. What a disservice to the market. If you do repairs right you will make money and you will do both replacements and repairs. We dont need new cars every time we have an oil leak. We bring cars to mechanic shops for inspections, not to dealers. Home owners with leaky roofs should be calling roofing companies not roofing dealers.

    I agree with this fully all the way. Repairs are essential and honestly the way I see it. If you do a repair, you do a good job majority the time it’s a review. As well when the roof needs replacement they are going to call the guys who helped them couple years ago with the repairs. Small things I get why some wouldn’t want to do just because it just not worth the time and pay to the laborers. Having a minimum price amount for repair job helps me out a ton.

    Question, my last roof in 2015, the roofer DID NOT ask for a down payment, seems today, most roofers asking for down payment of up to 30%. I understand there is alot of material cost, but I know from being an industrial equipment mechanic, that we get 30 days credit for materials/parts from our MFG. We CANNOT ask for money up front and then have to bill on net 30, not even as good as roofer as in "pay when the job is done". BTW, this last roof of mine (2005) failed county inspection 3 times until the roof company literally tore off one complete side of the roof and did it again, THEN it passed, and THEN I paid!!! So, as I look at buying a new roof soon, I sort of refuse to pay up front. My feeling is that if the roof company does not have enough credit with their suppliers, then maybe I need to find another roofer company> Do you agree?

    • @BaliCurrent
      @BaliCurrent ปีที่แล้ว

      You are not paying for the roof out of pocket, the insurance is. Roofers typically request payment for materials once they are delivered to the job site. As for insurance, the homeowner's insurance typically covers the cost of roof repairs or replacements, and the roofer is paid by the homeowner or insurance company once the work is completed and inspected. In some cases, the roofer may work directly with the insurance company to ensure payment. Often, homeowners try to pocket the money themselves or keep supplement money.

      The man can have a successful business without having that profit center as part of his business and the way you challenged him was basically saying he’s unethical just because he didn’t provide that service and that’s absolutely unprofessional on your part. There’s plenty of businesses thriving today that have outside subcontract people that they refer. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion and I’m not saying you don’t but when someone disagrees you come across argumentative. The same topic can be debated in many industries example : I spent 30 years in the collision repair industry in Atlanta market. My business is still operating on its 46th year. I owned it 25 before I sold. We would never do touch up bumper repair like these mobile services do at car dealerships. We either removed it did repair and panted entire bumper which is the correct way. So you going to say a multi million dollar business I’m speaking about makes it 46 yrs being unethical? I’m not challenging your knowledge I’m simply saying there’s more than one way to skin a cat and if others find their perfect model good for them. I debate you at times because I feel you need to be challenged like you do others. I have extensive experience in image consulting, styling and apparel business. Hence the reason I questioned your poor decision on wearing sunglasses on an inside interview. I’m involved in another business and do speak with first hand knowledge. I suspect we will cross paths one day and get to have a personal one on one conversation. One last thing, do you own Storm Group Roofing?

Not to mention 500 other things. And it’s a sign of shadiness, wouldn’t call anyone shady just because they do any of the above, but I think everyone knows what the problem is, and traveling contractors don’t have advantage over local roofers.
