This is how most of my blitz games end :D So often when I get a winning position I get too focussed on the winning plan that I completely ignore the counterplay (in time trouble). Those two connected juicers really dominated your rook. Good example of why we should never assume a recapture is the only move.

Yes, but mostly just don't assume recaptures. Be aware of all your options even if you will usually recapture.
