Fun fact: On the technical side, AI Dr. Mario and most other instakill characters use a glitch that makes it possible to force the enemy fighter into a custom state, that then instantly sets their life to 0, killing them. However, it's possible to use _another_ glitch to counter this, and many super OP characters (including Rare Akuma) use this to make those characters and other one-hit-KO attacks completely irrelevant. High-level cheap MUGEN characters are basically an arms race to see who can find the most loopholes or workarounds.

Rare Akuma is the literal god of Mugen. Most legendary character in all the community. It always SEEMS like it can be done, but he has literally a billion different ways of getting the win, be it through combos, stat interactions, metagaming, he ALWAYS wins, and you can see him do it in a completely new way over and over again. This character is emergent gameplay incarnate. That said, i would love a more balanced, toned down version of this, with more vinesauce-specific characters. As funny as those overblown shitpost sensory overload spectacles are, the fight that entertained me the most was the Doomguy vs Duke Nukem one. It was actually readable and an even fight. Imagine having a bunch of Tomodachi and other vinny characters having a tournament like VineWrestle, with chat betting on the outcomes. That would be AMAZING to watch, but i really do think such a mugen version would have to be toned down and cleaned up MASSIVELY to have the best effect, and keep vinny from quitting too early because the meme explosions are just too much to bear for more than 50 minutes..

Same here! I don't really have much experience with character creation, but I do with presentation (menu screenpack, lifebars, etc.) which this and the previous mugen Vinny played had no work in
so this makes it a 2nd time that something famicom fighters related makes it onto a vinesauce stream (with the first being joel in 2018..). a shame that vinny didn’t get to see dig dug outside of the character select but it was nice to see him regardless!
As a big fan of Quote and Cave Story, I would have liked to have seen him do more. Kinda wanted to see what other references they put into his moveset. Everyone in the comments here talking about their Touhou waifus and I'm just here watching an hour long video to see if my man Quote busts out the Bubbline or Nemesis.

Rare Akuma is a classic and kind of a gauge of if your character is worthy of "X-tier" status, more or less. You need to be at least as broken as he is to be in that class of insanity. Though as I understand it there are far more broken characters than him, but he has the fame advantage (not to be confused with the frame advantage)

Rare Akuma is the literal god of Mugen. Most legendary character in all the community. It always SEEMS like it can be done, but he has literally a billion different ways of getting the win, be it through combos, stat interactions, metagaming, he ALWAYS wins, and you can see him do it in a completely new way over and over again. This character is emergent gameplay incarnate.
That said, i would love a more balanced, toned down version of this, with more vinesauce-specific characters. As funny as those overblown shitpost sensory overload spectacles are, the fight that entertained me the most was the Doomguy vs Duke Nukem one. It was actually readable and an even fight.
Imagine having a bunch of Tomodachi and other vinny characters having a tournament like VineWrestle, with chat betting on the outcomes. That would be AMAZING to watch, but i really do think such a mugen version would have to be toned down and cleaned up MASSIVELY to have the best effect, and keep vinny from quitting too early because the meme explosions are just too much to bear for more than 50 minutes..

so this makes it a 2nd time that something famicom fighters related makes it onto a vinesauce stream (with the first being joel in 2018..). a shame that vinny didn’t get to see dig dug outside of the character select but it was nice to see him regardless!

As a big fan of Quote and Cave Story, I would have liked to have seen him do more. Kinda wanted to see what other references they put into his moveset. Everyone in the comments here talking about their Touhou waifus and I'm just here watching an hour long video to see if my man Quote busts out the Bubbline or Nemesis.

Rare Akuma is a classic and kind of a gauge of if your character is worthy of "X-tier" status, more or less. You need to be at least as broken as he is to be in that class of insanity. Though as I understand it there are far more broken characters than him, but he has the fame advantage (not to be confused with the frame advantage)
