Hi Cristina I used a recipe from a Moroccan art and craft specialist. It included equal amounts of pea glue and corn flour (2 cups os each) plus table spoon of vinegar , table spoon of baby oil or vegetable oil plus a teaspoon of grated white wax and a teaspoon of glycerine. The clay is beautiful to work with.
I know your comment is 3 years old but what is "white wax"? Is it a simple white candle wax or a bee's wax or is it carnuba or other type of wax? Thank you.
The ingredients you mentioned in the recipe of the Moroccan artist seems more acceptable. May I know the exact name of his/her TH-cam site if I may. Thank you
Thanks for sharing this video. But let me share my own way of making it, which I find easier and not to debate whether your microwave does its job at the right timing or not. I boil it. And I add lemon instead of vinegar (haven't tried vinegar yet), and I use glycerine (haven't tried baby oil yet too) and this makes the clay remain flexible and not stiff like the original cold porcelain mixture. I made roses and other designs and they remained flexible for many years even if I lived in a very dry climate back then. Hope this will help some of your watchers.
thanks for sharing ... i own you and everyone who helped to build up this recipe a big thanks ... i've tried it and it's realy flexible and great ... thanks
Thank you for sharing. I have done it with half quantity for each and added glycerin instead of baby oil. And put it in microwave 30 second in the first time and 20 second for the second time because it was less than yours. It worked well. Next time I will put the same quantity as you put with baby oil and it will be better. But I didn't understand the period in microwave, you put it for 40 seconds in the first time and then how long you put for the second and last time. Please explain it for me with thanks
Hi. The durability really depends on the glue you use :) mine is really flexible and durable its slightly comparable to Modena's durability tho its not waterproof.
Hi mam, your flowers made from home made clay but petals are flexible like plastic 👍 but my flowers come out hard like stone 🙁. How do I improve . Please suggest 🙏
You have certainly opened my eyes! I like the fact that it does not seem as fragile as flower paste..... but I am still a little confused as to adding colour and dusting. I am definitely going to give it a go - after I have watched your last three videos again another couple of times. Thank you so much.
So I just made it watching your video Christina, . I think it looks great but would you ( in future) add osint whole your kneading it or just as you use it?
Thanks so much for sharing this. I am having problems with my own, so have tried yours. (I am very new to this). However, although the finished clay looks and feels right, when I re-knead to prepare for using, it goes sticky again. Can you tell me where I'm going wrong, please? I'm getting frustrated as I do so want to have a go before next year...
I'm a beginner to making gumpaste flowers so Cold Porcelain is REALLY new for me. It would be great and great on my budget if I could make what I need. Did you ever come up with a Cold Porcelain Recipe that you like, or has anyone on here??? I would really like to know of one. Thank you Christina and anyone else that has seen what I'm needing. TY!
Hi. thank you for the recipe and your flowers so nice . My question is that can I use this recipe to make flowers and put it on cups and teapot and then wash it without break it ??
Hi Christina. I had messaged you on FBook and thanks for your reply. I tried making this recipe, but it turns out hard, not as flexible as what you show here. I followed the recipe EXACTLY.
hiya, i'd never had this problem but I'd heard people mention it , every singe time when using DIY paste, hard to tell why but I guess it's one of the limitation of diy cp , something to do with local humidity, probably

Hi! In my country common pva glue is very tack. You don't need to put your clay into the microwave and you still able to get perfect consistency. The problem is.. My clay is really fast too dry. I'm working on realistic miniature and before I add more details, the surface is start to dry. It does happen to you too? Or it's just me? Do you have any suggestions? Maybe I can add water or something?
Hi, i just adore watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. I would like to ask, do you use pasta maschine for cold porcelain? If yes, how do you cope with its stickiness? Because mine sticks a lot to pasta mashine, but using with hands is very good. Thanks for your answer.
Hello Christina! Luv your videos. I have a question: Is it possible to bake the cold porcelain? Have you ever tried it? And does adding paint change the makeup and behavior of the Clay? Thank you so much for teaching us all your techniques! 😉👍🌹
Very interesting. Good video ....... I found a new paste over the weekend .... playing with it, waiting for an order to be delivered .... very exciting. Your video is excellent in that it shows/explains the different steps and subsequent results. When I began I was working with the PVA glue that handymen use - not good. I found Elmers PVA did the trick. Sangeeta Shah's recipe is good. I'll be in touch.
Lyn Waring What is the difference of PVA glue you used before with the elmer glue? I have problem with my clay, I can't add more details to my creation because it's too fast to dry. So I thought it's because of the glue
Elmer's School Glue works best, for me. It's trial and error - 10 seconds at a time worked for me. Be patient and good luck. It is worth the effort to be able to make your own cold porcelain
Lyn Waring There's no elmer glue in my country :( I guess I'll experiment with different glue brand and find a perfect recipe that will dry a little bit slower so I can add details for my miniature. Anyway thanks for the answer.
Well, it is better to go with craft/school PVA glue. Woodworking PVA glue was to strong in my experience. I'm in Australia and it is so hard, sometimes to source 'stuff'. Good luck and don't give up on your first batch.
Hi Christina....I loveee watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing with us. And the flower is so beautiful too. I hope one day you make tutorial on how to make this flower.
