This was me when I was young. Nothing but my father’s son, Saving my money, Dreaming of glory Twitching like a finger on a gun! This was one of the songs of this era that gave me strength to get out and find ME.
Man, thank you! I've not heard this in decades. Completely forgot this one. Its funny how I remember every word. Thank you for keeping great music alive. And for me, especially this one 💖
Glad you found this one, it has special meaning for me. Just after high school graduation (81), I saw them live in Central Park. Two days later I moved to Colorado to explore life and find my passions.
I had Garfunkel's Breakaway album with this song and it remains one of my favorites. Every track is fantastic, especially "99 Miles From L.A." and "Waters of March".
They performed this on their 2003 Old Friends tour. There are You Tube video of them performing this on different concert stops, they were 62 years old during the world tour. When they recorded this, they were in their mid 30's.
It’s funny- I have listened to this song ever since I was a kid in the mid 70s. It had a melancholy feel, even when I thought the line was “nothing but the best of times back in my little town!” ….Now that I know the actual line, it’s even more sad….and even more accurate for me
Greetings and love from Germany again. I was lucky to saw Paul once live on stage in 2015 here in Cologne. It was in 2014 as he decided to go on tour together with UK legend ´Sting´ to perform together some of Pauls and some of Stings classic hits. Awesome compilation. There are actually live videos on YT from the concert i visited. Great unforgetable expierience. Deep inside i´m a Metalhead since 1985 but with a huge horizon and fine taste for amazing music. As you read some background history of this song there was one thing i noticed that maked no sense to me. So, Paul has written this and said it wasnt autobiographical. Therefore i asked myself why did Garfunkel statet it was bout his own childhood. Well, i doesn´t really care...it was just a little thing i notice. Great reaction video with great music..like always, my friend. And i absolute love your research before every song you do...have a peaceful day, mein Freund
You should really check out Art's album called Breakaway. If you love this song, you will love this whole album. It's been one of my favorite albums of all time.
Great song. Everything they did was great but Paul is the real talent in my opinion. Late in the Evening,Me and Julio down by schoolyard,50 ways to leave your lover and That was your mother are my suggestions.
Thank you Sal for keeping great music alive. Fantastic duo and wonderful song. Two voices sounding like one.
The quality of the music, voices, and production are just immaculate, but Paul's lyrics are what pushes their songs over the top.
Wow! I haven't hears this gem in ages! I love your reaction. Your facial expressions were how I feel inside when I hear it!
Man this one takes me way back, thanks! Still Crazy After All These Years by Paul Simon is a great one too 🔥
This song needs more reactions! ❤one of my favorites by them
This has always been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. So excited to see you review it!! This was fun! Thank you.

Good song - and it was a track on BOTH Art and Paul's solo albums, both great albums, worth a listen.
This song is not played nearly enough. What a gem.
I haven't heard this song in years! I was in the 5th grade when this came out. Loved it then and love it now. Thanks for reminding of this song.
Simon and Garfunkel are always great. Amazing songwriting and beautifully harmonies.
as a kid, I was so sure these two were just folk artists. No idea how I didn't notice all the rock in their music.

Glad to see you again. I must have needed a smile.
I love Simon and Garfunkel, too. Have you reacted to their "The Only Living Boy in New York?" Arguably their most haunting harmonies.
I never get tired of this song. It's way too good.

I have not heard this song in years 🎶I had forgotten how beautiful it was 😌 Thank you Roger and Salvo ♥️

Will always love these guys...saw them live in 1983. One of the best concerts ever. Great song! Thanks Sal.
Always loved this song. Glad you stumbled onto it.

There’s a video on TH-cam of them singing this together around the time it released on Saturday Night Live.

Thank you Sal for another banger! This is a true classic.
CLASSIC!!

j'adore vraiment ce titre...magnifique..
Haven't heard anyone react to this underrated S&G gem. Thanks
🌸 I've never seen a reactor do this song so thank you for this!
You should react to "Keep The Customer Satisfied" It is a BANGER!!! It's a Masterpiece!
US Billboard Hot 100 peak # 9 song Length 3:51, Simon and Garfunkel assumed the name Tom & Jerry in their very early years of both of them.
Still crazy after all these years is a good album
My favorite song by the pair
Wow, I still have the 45 of this song!
Sleepy little old towns....for the newly wed and nearly dead......"nothing but the dead and dying back in my little town!"
Did I hear you read that this was #1 and highly successful? I’m a mad fan of S&G and I have never heard this before in my life.
🌸 it does make me sad though every time
Irrespective of the brilliant lyrics and melody it sounds like a single voice. Maybe it is,
i can't tell ...haha!

Love your reactions and stats but still waiting for a David Gray song 🎵 from you. Regards Barbara from Scotland xx
Love this song, too bad they didn't collaborate more.
A great forgotten song … thank you
Great song. How about Queen "Don't stop me now"
Next you should try Old Friends / Bookends, & you may need a tissue.
That's my favourite. I think I'll have Bookends at my funeral! "Preserve your memories they're all that's left you" 😢
Please Please Please listen to Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill How Great thou art.. you’ll freaking die!
Good song! Could You react to The Cardigans - Carnival ? .90s Alternative pop. th-cam.com/video/7bK5EPjGri4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FnY8hxx4WP0aLH-2
