Congrats on 200k net worth!! I’m so glad I found your channel this year you really influenced me to prioritize investing and not just saving. I’m 27 currently at USD 80k in investments + retirement and my goal is to hit 100k by the end of next year! Your channel has been so motivating for me ❤🎉
Gabby, thanks for being so raw about your debts and gains. I feel like others on this platform are afraid to talk about what they owe and what they currently hold. so thanks and please be forever raw about money and finance. don't change!
@@GabbyPeterson17 Hi. do not know if you said this and i missed it. will people with the old budget tracker get an upgrade when the new tracker is out. or they will also need to get the new one too?
@ it will be treated as a new product. You will have access to the existing one forever, so you can use that for 2025. But if you want the new one it will be a separate product. I will run a discount in the new year for the new one to get it at a discounted rate however
I think one thing to note is that the markets have been crazy - yes, compound interest is part of it, but the ~30% increase in the markets this year helped a lot and is far from typical.
Yes absolutely! The markets are up a ton right now. But I am also investing for the long term so the ups and downs are just par for the course. I am certain that when I need most of this money for retirement, that it will be up as well!
thank you for this video ! would very much love to see a video from you about how to keep your relation to money healthy, not obsessing about it, and also how to deal with time regarding having your full time job + side hustles xx
This is a great idea!! Done! I have struggled with over obsessing ALOT so I can definitely speak to this. Definitely also struggled balancing everything at first as well. Thank you for the recommendation!! 💗
Congrats on hitting $200k networth Gabby! That’s so awesome 💖 such an achievement! I can’t wait to see the 2025 tracker, looks like it has a new colour scheme too which is so fun!! X
@@evanchisamorejohnston5819 my managed accounts are managed by a roboadvisor so not too sure. But most of it is in ETF’s like XSP, SPY, FCUV, FBAL, XEQT, FCGS. Small amount is in individual stocks like TSLA, AAPL, ATZ etc.
Congrats on 200k! Love your videos & how real you are, it was really nice to hear someone acknowledge the privileges they had to reach this goal. I'm currently 24 with a net worth of 65k CAD, hoping to reach 100k+ by 30, been watching all your videos for motivation :)
Thank you so much! Yes absolutely so important to mention the help I've had. Starting to invest straight out of uni rather than paying off debt is abnormal for most. Wow congrats on your success so far!! You will get there much faster than you think! The hardest part is the first 50k
This is amazing, Gabby! Well done! 💰💕 If you're comfortable sharing, do you have any plans to use the inheritance money for something? Or is it for retirement as well?
Thank you girl!! Absolutely, I am hoping to use it for a down payment and depending on how much I need then the rest can be for retirement since I am also contributing to a home savings account and would likely buy with David as well. But plan is definitely for a home. We are waiting however to afford a bit more house since were not interested in buying a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment and thats all we can afford in Vancouver right now 😭 so likely a longer term goal.
Awesome update! im a little confused when you said you maxed out your TFSA and something to do with the inheritence? is that sitting in another tfsa as cash but wasn't listed in your list? thanks
Thank you! Not a problem, its a bit confusing. Most of my TFSA is my inheritance since I have had it since I was a kid, I have been transferring money from the inheritance into my TFSA from when I turned 18 and contribution opened up. I also have been contributing to it myself for the last few years, the managed TFSA is entirely my deposits from my work pay and in 2024 I started contributing myself to the self-driven TFSA and track what I bought so I can do these update videos and separate things. But really when I sign into my account my TFSA is much higher than what I shared. Hope that makes sense.
I have an IG linked in my bio! It's more so a personal IG, but who knows maybe in the future I'll start one specifically for this channel. And thank you so much!
I guess the only 100% guaranteed amount is my cash which is 10%. However I am well diversified in Canadian, American, and global markets along with crypto so my hope is that it is extremely unlikely I will lose it all at once. I am a bit higher risk because I am investing for the long term and wont need this money for a while so I prefer a higher equities to bond ratio.

I was thinking the same thing. Context is so important when you look at how investment numbers have evolved.

Yes, I would say probably $45k-50k are my own deposits!
