The casuals arent actually the people complaining. The Casuals use the spirit ashes and get through the game fine, its the people who want a challenge who are disapointed that the game isnt balanced with them in mind. Though obviously its still doable.
Except they don't want a challenge, they want to never adapt, not learn moves, not change their builds, and just jump attack through everything with their hammers.
Good point. I beat the game just fine using my usual dark souls "bonk it until it stops attacking" method. But it wasn't fun.
@@SimonCleric When your "adapting" is using spirit summons, or using some OP shield or perfume. Then yeah, they shouldnt adapt.
There is nothing wrong with criticizing the artificial difficulty of the DLC. Stop defending nonsense.
It is balanced around not summoning. People just need to git gud
@superlucci Summons and broken items is not adapting. Adapting is using different methods for each boss according to their weaknesses and moveset etc. You cant just roll up to each one planning to just roll or use a shield. This isn't a combat sim, you are fighting gods lol.
Elden Ring was definitely my 1st Fromsoft experience. All I used to play was NFS and Every single GOW. It took me 13 days to beat Placidusax. I didn't fully understand stand builds on my 1st play thru. Now NG+3 and The DLC Im enjoying myself because I actually have nothing else to compare Elden Ring to except LOTF which is not on this lvl of character intricacies when it comes to game size or thought need to overcome the games challenges. Like your vidand new sub!! 💯😎
I had trouble with Metyr because she had two attacks I cound't figure out to avoid. The big explosion and the two spinning lasers. Then I remembered there was an item called Uplifting Aromatic. I crafted a few and then that's it. It helped me tank both attacks for me to beat her.
Congrats on the clear, when in doubt let those cookbooks help you out!
I think that the main DLC critism about the DLC difficulty is mainly due to the fact that the game is just fresh new. Every from's game a cycle where at first they say that the game's too hard, but then sliwly shift towards understanding the bosses and recognise their true greatness. Like dawg the DLC hasnt even been out for 1 month chill☠️
True! We can’t all be amazing at something first try. The game has always been a good test of patience and this was a nice reminder for sure
Ngl makes me wanna buy the dlc but i still haven’t gotten the full experience of the game with all of its content glad to know that with the dlc i have alot to look forward too good video man honestly surprised you don’t have more subs
If this helps convince you to give it a try, then all the better! Considering the price point and the changes, I think it is a worthwhile purchase. Thanks for checking out the video!
Its been mostly great but the last boss is unbalanced in the phase 2 and not fun past that point.
The difficulty of the bosses are not that big of a deal for me but relanna taking a quarter of my health with a hit while a normal foot soldier takes almost half of my health is the thing that shows that 90% of the diffulty of this dlc is enemies hitting way harder
I love the difficulty. It makes me feel like I’m playing DS1 for the first time again. Figuring out new strategies to win just casual encounters with the axe soldiers makes it so I don’t take things for granted.
Those reflections in your glasses are wild bud
Lmao fire right?
Nagh it was hurting my eyes 😂
@@mattdefreitas525 will be blind next video for you guys then 😩
@@thedynamicentry I'm only playing, it was perfectly fine 🙂
Im a casual and i love the game ive been play since it came out im lvl 513 ng 7 i use summoning ashs cause i think some are cool and fit some builds i summon players cause why not sometimes it can make fights more fun its hard ya but honestly thats why its a great game
I happily use all the cheap tactics possible and it was still kinda hard. (Sekiro is still the hardest game though.)
We've got tons of tools at our disposal, might as well take advantage where you can 🙏🏻
I actually think the difficulty is pretty much relegated to how lazy you are with the fragments, but you just have to repeatedly run through a world of cookbooks and smithing stones to scale accordingly. Fights in general slapped disregarding fromsofts usual camera issues. This one's probably personal but if there was idk 30 more weapons? A few more Aow and spells. And they replaced a few of the smithing stone drops, then exploration would've felt truly rewarding rather than a required task? Might not be phrasing that right but you hopefully understand 😂
Don't worry, we get what you mean! I think the addition at least 10 more ashes of war (maybe even just 2 or 3 more per new weapon type) As well as greater spell diversity or maybe a few more unique spells may have been really solid!
Regarding the lootdrops, I can understand if it was meant to make the grind easier, but I totally agree. I would have loved better diversity in the loot pools. Picking up a Smithing stone 3 after a fight in the DLC can be disheartening at times.
The difficulty is good. The problem is a lot of people summon/mimic tear through the entire game and dont learn how to play the game and then get stonewalled when the only solution is getting good
This is the silliest thing to say let people summon all they want. You are what is wrong with our Soulsborne Community the supposed git gud crowd. Stop making us look bad with this silly non sense.
> Uses part of the base game mechanic
> "Learn how to play the game"
So how far do you draw the line? Does leveling stats also counts as playing the game wrong?
@@JohnDoe-ok1rf Levelling stats is not playing the game wrong, however in the Souls game there is a challenge run called the SL1 run or in ER RL1 run where a person beats the game without levelling. He is just a sub part of the community, who looks down on people for using spirit summons, it's extremely silly smh. It be better if he honestly just said those people that summon need to get the Revered Spirit Ashes and Scadutree Frags.
This is challenge for veterans, but I must say this game must be one of the most unforgiving entry in the souls -series.
Took 4 hours for Radhan and 4 hours for Bayle. But i solo defeated all the bosses in the DLC. I was also guilty of mimic tear abusing Malenia. But i defeated all the DLC bosses by myself. No summons or mimic tear. Ive even gone back and spent 2 hours fight and defeating Malenia solo. The DLC is very hard. But i learned a lot of about all the bosses. And have had a much easier time on my newer character going through the DLC again
I summoned all through the dlc and beat it a few days ago and I'm about over it.
I wish games with better combat would come out like dmc would have a better world and story
@bombyo3634 Elden Ring has a great story though. It's just not told to you like other games
@@andrewsebree4333 Someone said elden ring has lore. Which isn't storytelling it's just history.
Everything in elden ring is after the fact. I want a game with actual story telling as it's happening this type of lore then figure it out is horrible to me.
I get people love lore and google stuff but I want to actually enjoy the story and then look at some lore.
Thus I want a better story and game play. Dmc open world would be more intense then this.
i watched my dude with ng 0. i was shocked that he can take like 5 or 6 hits before going down. he killed like every boss in about 5 tries. the dlc isnt hard, but if we go in with ng whatever that can be crazy hard.
I entered at NG0 myself, and after getting a good amount of fragments, I'm feeling great! As for my NG+ buddies? They're having a tougher time for sure and it shows.
No one's killing the last Boss in 5 tries on NG without supreme cheese or prior knowledge and preparation. You're either lying or omitting some important details about your "guy".
Most of the bosses where not that hard more so annoying. Only shit i aint like was radhan but i felt like the dlc could have had a little bit more story and more boss lore.
Dark souls 1 is more frustrating 😭 not harder but everytime I die I wanna turn off my pc lol
No, the DLC took all the worst aspects of the base game and made them worse, autistic Bosses being only one of those bad aspects. The DLC was a regression in FromSoft's soulslike formula and I hope that they go back to the drawing board with their next title.
Just found Mesmer today and no I think he's actually pretty bullshit
At least it keeps the shitters in animal crossing.
Commander Gaius is still shite. You can't see the attacks he does and not to mention the damn ass huge random hitboxes he does.
Other bosses - almost every on of them - have too many hits per combo which you have to dodge before you can hit them. Certain bosses do 5-6 hits before you can hit them. For Elden Ring's mechanics it just doesn't work. For Sekiro it might or even Bloodborne's rally mechanic ans fast movement.
Regarding Gaius: If I had to guess, the issues with the hit box may be attributed to his mount. This is just a guess on my part, but if the game is registering the two of them as separate actors, it could create some really scuffed situations as they bend and turn. (Again, just a guess I don't have modding tools on PC to check, and I mainly play in PS5)
Regarding the other bosses: I also agree there is a steep increase in the attack rate across the board. It can feel super oppressive at times. While the twisting and flying of the lion dancer didn't give me too much trouble, Rellena and Mindra made me suffer for playing super aggressive like I tend to
I beat renalla first try at level 130 first try with 2 scatree things and it wasn't hard. I don't think it's that much harder than the base game, especially I'f you use the mimic tear
It's not actually that difficult, I'm experienced but not a no hitter or anything like that. I one hit all the bosses I had left after I got 14 Scadutree, except Radahn and Bayle ofc. I've heard all sorts of crap talked about difficulty. Lol obviously the complainers are not experienced dark souls players, Elden ring (if you use mimic tear etc.) was quite a lot easier than the others, maybe not DS2, which I can no death, can only get about half way through no death on Elden ring. I don't think any boss was as hard as Orphan of Kos, therefore it's not too hard (in relation to other souls games). I'm now progressing quite happily with my bow only and a mage with 40 vigour.
However, I think the game is way to large, with way too many very empty areas, which it's just not fun to search every inch of as you need to do with souls games. Therefore the game is not perfect! I have some other criticism too, but not as serious as the emptiness.
You obviously used a cheesy build, therefore, your opinion doesn't matter.
@@verde5738 Cheese and armour, maxed flasks and all that. Cancelling, pfffft I should be banned from playing Elden Ring!
The DLC was too easy. Only 2 bosses were very difficult. I didn't even use summons
DBDL took me 13 tries
Rellana took me 4 tries
Putrescent Knight took me 10 tries
Bayle took me 48 tries (underlevelled af though)
Golden Hippo took me 9 tries
Gaius took me 1 try
Scadutree Avatar took me 2 tries
Metyr took me 2 tries
Jori took me 2 tries
Midra took me 13 tries
Messmer took me 3 tries
Romina took me 1 try
Leda and gang took me 6 tries
Radahn took me 73 tries.
Cheesing the game doesn't count.
@@verde5738 I didn't. I literally mentioned how I didn't use summons
@@fili0938 There's plenty of ways to cheese without summons, and that is what you did.
@@verde5738 Define cheese then.
Not even close to perfect but difficulty was fine
I don't think it's too hard for casuals. The difficulty is no longer enjoyable for casuals. Since the casuals are casuals they know/understand what they are actually frustrated about. The base game has this problems and the DLC double down on this problem, how to deal with attacks are not clear or intuitive in this game. And this is not fun to deal with.
That’s only one boss though.
@@DemonEdge82 not one quite a few.
Most of tbe weapons aren't that great.
Blasphemous blade still rules most of the weapons which is disappointing.
Light of miquella and scared relic sword another base game weapons is literally all u need even without light of miquella since its after the dlc those 2 base game weapons can destroy the dlc there is no reason to get any other weapon.
The point is it should be a point i wanted weapons that were sooo different u had to try it. This dlc wasnt that for me.
The game is easy. Sorry.
Who the hell calls sekiro the hardest? You have a block that negates 100% damage 90% of the time.
Ive heard a few people say that but its all opinion
Sekiro is the hardest from game by a huge margin as a whole.
Although the final DLC boss is the hardest boss they have ever made.
@@Kirahie you have stealth as an option and a literal pocket sand option. More then any other fromsoft game, combat can be trivialized and there are very few bosses that have an immediate answer to the no stamina block besides a grab literally telegraphed with a giant warning sign above their head
Which game is the hardest in your opinion? 🤔
@@thedynamicentry I'd say eldenring. The games have just progressively gotten harder so it kinda by default takes that slot, with sekiro really only getting anywhere near that title if you have no idea what you're doin
Pro tip: If you don't say the name of the game right, record another take rather than just using the one you've got.
I wonder how many others decided to skip this after you called it ShadowS of the Erdtree. It isn't plural. Why would I care what you have to say about a game when you don't even care enough to get the name right?
Thanks for watching!
Weird ass criticism ngl
Oh no he said the plural version of shadow
THE END IS NIGH, DOOM IS UPON US
How will society ever recover from such an awful mistake
@@itspetahhh5304 😓
@@theyluvxavien5244 you're right, its totally normal to get the name of the game you're making a video about wrong.
