A good remix is a transformative work: it takes the original song and lends it new meaning and context, creating something different and new. Linkin Park's original was a bittersweet, soulful meditation on the impermanence of our relationships and our lives. It speaks to the pain--but necessity--of letting go. Glitch Mob's pounding and distorted remix throws out the melodic and gentle elements for something harsher and angrier. The chopped up and rearranged refrain becomes not about acceptance of loss, but defiance in the face of anguish, of not going quietly into that good night.

Its amazing. I love linkin park and I live glitch mob. As always, the remixes are amazing, holding enough of the original to pay tribute but enough of glitch mob to also be theirs. Wonderful

I remember finding out about Glitch Mob when Drink the Sea got put out on iTunes for free in 2010. Back then I used to listen to almost exclusively alt rock like Linkin Park and Rise Against, but I was starting to get into EDM when I started listening to Deadmau5. I remember listening to Animus Vox for the first time back then with my best friend at his house, and we were completely blown away by the uniqueness of the sound. It's fun to remember the excitement for the future I had as a kid
