  • NEW report from Redfin: home sales posted the biggest year-over-year decrease in 4 months yet housing inventory is still climbing. Meanwhile, the US median sale price reached a new record high yet price reductions soared to at least a three year high.

    To give you a quick mortgage interest rates update, according to the Mortgage News Daily the average 30 yr fixed rate mortgage is around 7% for the current mortgage rates (at the time of filming this video for those with excellent credit).

    PLEASE CONCENTRATE ON OUTRAGEOUS HOME PRICES THAT DOUBLED SINCE THE PANDEMIC AND NOT INTEREST RATES. THE PROBLEM IS HOME PRICES NOT INTEREST RATES.

      Realtors don't speak about homes prices. Conflicts with their pay check. PSA: Set 6% realtor commissions are no longer a thing because of the lawsuit against the NAR for driving up home prices. Commissions can be negotiated. Moral: negotiate, negotiate, negotiate; commissions and home prices. Depending on the area, home prices are up 40% in 4 years. We have to get these home prices down. Be protective of your money! Home prices are only what buyers are willing to pay! We have to send the message!

      Government spending increased 25% since 2020. That money has to find a place to land. The people that got those moneies, many through fraud, are having no trouble buying up houses.

    Most people in this generation does not understand interest rate has been as high as 14% to 18% historically, thats why people need to save money for a down payment.

    Corporate buyers can sit on large housing portfolios forever and do so to keep $ up These large investors who see too much risk in commercial real estate are moving money into single family homes and condos to either hold or rent. No incentive to sell. Don’t think it’s the group who have the low mortgages. Last year’s cash buyer was around 42% . Govt needs to limit corporate buying and foreign investment as other countries do-and make sure it’s actually policed so that simply starting another LLC allows you to start buying again. Corporate greed (price gauging) is destroying the American dream. Enough!

    It's crazy how you're paying a higher monthly mortgage compared to three years when people were locked into a 2.8%. Another crazy thing is house prices haven't gone down, which the lender is giving a less amount to loan. Now the buyers pays less for a house, puts more down, or just willing to have a higher monthly mortgage payment.

    All these reports seem topsy turvy. In another set of news, apparently jobs added another 200k

      True. Data coming in is varied. More jobs added in June than expected but unemployment rose from 4.0% to 4.1%.
