I love to paint miniatures for your warhammer 40k, age of sigmar and & d&d games. How to speedpaint Taus Space Marines, Blood Angels, Salamanders, Stormcast Eternals, beastclaw raiders, 75 mm scale models and miniature busts! How to paint warhammer, how to paint D&D figures. I really like that you don't expect your viewers to know everything, like some other painter around here. You address a lot of things I'm afraid of while painting, build up structure with too many layers or F Up the whole miniature. It's very refreshing, you got a new subscriber.
Now, this is the sort of tutorial/tips vid I can get on with. Like, sure I heard the same basics elsewhere but the hunour and the fact you dealt with the frustration side of it and the fact trying to be perfect is just gonna f*** it up more kept me in it. Nice.
I’m a new subscriber. My first impression is that you’re teaching about the frustration, truth, and learning curve of this hobby in a style that no one else is. I’m not even a “gamer” genre painter. Your content is compelling and I’m a new fan.
Aww I’m so glad you think that way! I will keep at it then! 👻
Your best video yet! Thank you.
I appreciate your taste in whisky as much as your painting tips; nice B)
Ooh that’s a super nice compliment!! Or an insult, if irony it’s involved uhm lol
I had to stop using a rat palette because my cat was constantly chasing it around the hobby room 😂
In all seriousness- great video! Love the no nonsense techniques you teach here
Didnt they bring it back on your lap tho? Ahah
What us a rat palette bud ? Iv seen the wooden ones and the wet ones and home made.
I approve of the choice of Caol Ila
I do love you nameless youtuber i watch quite often. Here's a subscribe.
Ahah thanks and I’d rather be nameless 👀
Look she's actually teaching people things! Careful
Very practical, love it. "You're gonna fuck it up, move on". Amazing. Subscribed
Video about feathering would be great, always had problems with that kind of blends
Super useful video, thanks!
Great video! Thanks.
my biggest issue with my rat palette is when it up and walks away and I can’t find it … I’m sure that’s why I always end up licking my brush. Don’t judge me.
Just wanted to let you know that I took this video on board and it’s really helped me sort out my power swords!
I just found your channel today. Not only was it good info, you're hilarious. GG
Glad you enjoyed 🤭

You are great!
Am I tho? Ahah
Awesome video, thank you. A friend and I have just started with WH 40k and have a box set to do. Seeing all the fantastic models was rather daunting so it's great to see some techniques :D
Im glad I can be of help!! If you just started you might wanna check out my beginners tips playlist! Those videos have some good advice for someone who just started, maybe they can be useful!!
I would never lick a brush... ::whistles innocently:: Awesome video! I struggle so hard with this and now I'm ready to try and give it another go without beating myself up.
Thank you :)
Great instructions and thanks for the humor 😂
I dont want to play that grey drinking game, I ide run out of alcohole
That’s the whole point
My illustration professor liked to make his brush pointy with his lips.... he's dead, just say'n. I enjoy your videos and I love your sarcasm.
Do I see a cause effect pattern there? Lol thanks mate ahah
I love you so i just subscribed 😂
Love your content, this is like a complex zenathal highlight before the contrast paint ? Looking forward to trying it out, and yes we love you too❤.
Thanks!! Actually it’s more like an under painting, but it was just to show how blending can be really easy!
💓💍👀
You’re loved. Got the subs. Now clean up those edges and keep the contrast content flowing
Thumbs up for Caol Ila.
🥃 👍😀
I like your straight forward approach to everything swearing included.
In Italian I’m even worse lol thanks 🙏🏻
@@ataraxiapainting so you are Italian, but I guess you don't live in Italy.
@@renniedegiorgio2528 nope I do!
An interesting thing is that blending isn't as important when doing nmm. The most important part is high contrast and getting the reflection points right to sell the illusion of something reading as mettalic. However on skin, that's when blending is super important, because if the blends suck the skin looks like utter crap. Wich is why for skin tones I always use oil based paint because blending is super easy and I can always erase my work with mineral spirits since oils take a couple of days to dry.
Uhm i don’t completely agree. It all depends on what you want to achieve. Sometimes it’s way easier to do smooth blends rather than leaving the brushstrokes. Those brushstrokes, the good ones, are really hard to master. Thanks for the input tho, especially about oils!
Did you say Andy Warhol’s model for Golden Demon?!
Yes! He mentioned it in one of his Patreon exclusive videos
@@ataraxiapainting Oh, Andy Wardle! I Heard Andy Warhol and got confused. For a lot of reasons.
Brush licker for life, come at me fam. There's a reason I don't do oils.
Can’t tell you how many times I regretted using them
theres a giant hole in your ear
Wut?? Where???

use retarder to enhance working time.
So many jumpcuts. I see a lot of imitation of other content creators, but it feels like you're pushing it a bit too hard to me, personally. I would drop one camera.
Imitation in the editing you mean? Honestly I’m just trying my best to keep the viewers engaged, it’s kinda hard these days not to make people click off. Thanks for your feedback tho!
@@ataraxiapainting Hi! Yeah, I can see several influences. You take a little bit of Squidmar for the like, quirky behaviour, and a bit of the cuts from Miniac and it's not bad persé and it might even do wondrs for your or the channel. I just felt it was a little bit too much. Not a major factor, but sometimes distracting from the subject.
I really like how Ninjon balances out his cuts and painting advice, so, I guess that would be my goto for what I personally like in a video.
Thanks for responding ;)
Edit: and I forget, the painting advice in the video is sound and detailed.
@@Oyxopolis personality wise I don’t take inspiration, it’s just me in the max cringe way ahah. Also I don’t watch much content of those creators tbh so I think my influences are elsewhere and outside the niche for editing and cuts. It’s very hard to find a balance… I don’t have a cult following like ninjon, I’m trying to build my audience from the ground up. Hard to tell if many viewers might think like you.
Maybe this kind of editing doesn’t really work in our niche??
@@ataraxiapaintingmore popular content creators don’t have a lock on “quirky” or how many jump cuts/cameras they use. All you have to worry about is just being yourself and putting out the content you’d like. The rest will take care of itself. 😊
