In a mall, when the jewellery store got rob, mall security will be the first response and contact the police . If the mall security delayed to contact police, police will not be notified until the third third party called. If that happens, the robbers will have no rush and do their crime at their own pace. Do you see the missing link? Look at the footage again in the last Fairview Mall incident and you notice linkage.
maybe they already contact police. but the fact is, for police to react and arrive will take 10minutes . the robbers are all ling gone already. even if they arrive, robbers only have hammer , the police in theory can not use guns. so they can only chase them to catch them .
@bossanesta You may be right, and I think it is worth to investigate. Police definitely has non lethal way to stop the heist. Place like Markville Mall, police station just less than 2km; Police station to Fairview mall is 3km. Kinda no excuses for late coming to the scene.
@ i am no expert and dont have much knowledge in how police work. but i think it go thru certain process. someone call 911, and call center will call the closest dispatch to the location. there are process happened in the background that will for sure take few minutes . i am pretty sure robbers will have a person to watch or listen to radio to see when will the police come. i am sure these are organically crime , when its harder to steal cars, its easier to rob jewelry shops . you dont even need a gun or special equipment to rob. just need hammers and get away cars. when there are bunch of masked individual. any one with a clear mind will not stop them . not a lawyer but in case any one forget, citizen can not use gun or violence to stop robbery, they will put themself in court room. so being a hero will end up in jail.
