Am constantly astounded by your off the cuff analysis of the lyrics on the songs you react to. Rundgren himself would probably give you two thumbs and praise yr big brain 😁
@@BlizzardSeeker Yes, and never any bad language or attitudes. My grand kids can watch his reactions and learn from him at the same time hearing some of the best music ever produced.
I don't know why you don't have 300k subscribers. You have the best breakdowns of any music TH-cam channel in my opinion. You also don't get in the way of the song, which a lot of even good reactors will tend to do sometimes. Keep putting it out there and I'll keep listening!
I first discovered JM (Jarvis) back in January 2023, he had only 462 Subs and 38 videos. My first was #41. I subbed and since he has done 113 New artist to him like Todd from my request and 418 songs. He is without equal for reactors on YT. Humble yet so insightful/intelligent comments, with a great smile.
Hello, It's Me...... HUGE Radio HIT. Todd has been making great music with many other artist for over five decades. Thanks again for adding another legendary Classic Rocker name to your awesome Playlist. Number 113
The only thing better than Daryl's Place in Upstate NY is Daryl's Place at Todd Rundgren house in Hawaii. It seems off topic, but I really think you would appreciate any or all of these requests!
Huge Rabbit hole here, brother! There is so much music to get into. Todd is a multi- instrument performer, top end producer, and and accomplished writer for himself and many others. You will no doubt get a ton of requests by your subscribers, enjoy them. But, im going to give you a couple that might be overlooked.... "Black Mariah" and to mix it up a little "Last Ride" where he hooked up with Darryl Hall (of Hall and Oates) at his home in Hawaii. Both songs and performances are years apart and both fabulous for the ears. Enjoy!!!
This song is a huge one in my life. And every time I find the opportunity I will put this song on in my car with about 3 of my friends and we will sing it out at the top of our lungs with the windows down. We would have people joining us at stop lights and in traffic. A classic! ❤
Some Favs from Rundgren's playlist ....We Gotta Get You A Woman.... I Saw The Light....It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference.... Can We Still Be Friends....Bang The Drum All Day.... Todd has a bunch of great tunes.
I've loved TR for many many years and I just laughed so hard when you called him out on his final verse. Well done and well stated (he would agree 50+ years later!) Go see him live if you get the chance before he quits!! He still tours and rips @ 76 and can still sing.
Todd is such an amazing artist the corporate suits tried to limit his creative ability but he was having none of that! a true pioneer in music! i still have this album!
Some of the noteworthy musicians on this track: Moogy Klingman on organ, the Brecker brothers on trumpet and sax, and Vicki Sue Robinson (Turn That Beat Around) among the backing vocalists.
I watched one of my other reaction channels react to "I Saw The Light" just yesterday which is another great song of his. It would be my next suggestion for you.
One of my favorites. I sing this on drunk karaoke night. WE GOTTA GET YOU A WOMAN I SAW THE LIGHT. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS. He was also a great producer. He produced Grand Funk Railroad and Bad Finger among others.
I've been a Todd Rundgren fanatic since seeing him with Nazz in Wildwood, New Jersey back in the late 1960s. They even have a song called Wildwood Blues. Such a huge collection over the years of pop songs, the Philadelphia Sound, and progressive rock. He's produced major artists as well. Quite simply a genius! PS: This is a faster version of the original Hello It's Me by Nazz which was a slow song. Give it a listen!
Todd Rundgren is my favorite musician. "Hello, It's Me' is the first song he ever wrote. He recorded a slower version of it for his first band, Nazz, in the late 1960s but another guy in the band sang it (Todd was the songwriter and guitar player at the time). When he went solo in the early 1970s, Todd re-recorded 'Hello, It's Me' to this version, and also sang lead. This song appeared on his third solo album and was one of his few radio hits. That said, Todd is a musical genius; also a legendary producer. He had a side project, a progressive rock band called Utopia that he did alongside his solo career. I just saw Todd in concert a few months ago, and he is still a fantastic performer at age 76. For a future reaction, I suggest checking out his song 'Fair Warning'. It's one of my favorite Todd lyrics and the r&b vibe to it.
Todd is a musical savant and had some huge hits in the 70s before turning to prog/rock Utopia and aiding many others in the studio. From the same album, do Black Mariah, an absolute banger of a song that puts a spotlight on his great guitar playing. Excellent choice, worth pursuing, enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎺🎶🔥
Lots of good Todd stuff out there...Love the Utopia band albums. This guy had so many different sounds....incredible stuff. I think my favorite song is, "Just Another Onion Head."
Todd had a few hits but his catalog of music is very deep. He also wrote and produced for other artists. Late in the song you hear his voice fluctuate, thats his actual emotion as his girlfriend walks out of the studio at the end he leaves to chase after her. Such an underrated artist.
I love the layering in this song. Been watching you for a bit and finally subscribed. You are such a pleasant personality and very articulate. I love your smile, too.
Excellent comments (as usual). Nailed it. A 'sorta' breakup song; yet trying to get some 'if you think I should' is lame. I guess he leaves it up to her. But isn't that always the case? Still a great vibe.
JMBoy this song was written by Todd when he was 17. His girlfriends father made her break up with Todd cause he had long hair. This is the second version of the song , it was originally recorded by Todd with his first band , The Nazz. Original was at a slower tempo compared to this , this is more mid tempo.
To this day I'm astonished at how perfectly the music captured the mood of the lyrics throughout. It's almost magical.
*His song "Can We Still Be Friends?" is hauntingly beautiful.*
Always loved his music when growing up
Me too.
Am constantly astounded by your off the cuff analysis of the lyrics on the songs you react to. Rundgren himself would probably give you two thumbs and praise yr big brain 😁
JM is certainly the best at what he is doing.
His analysis is uncanny!

MILLIONS have someone in mind when they hear this song.....
This is on my "Sunday, cleaning the house" channel... how can you be in a bad mood listening to some smooth 70s?🤗
Great reaction!🎉❤✌️
I KNEW you'd love this one. What's not to love? Todd knocked it out of the park with this one.
I’m 59yo and listen to everything from Metal to
Country. This is one of
My favorite
Songs.
There are some Songs that cross all Genres and this is one of them. A pure Classic.
Todd is such a great singer/songwriter who was at his peak, in the early 1970s. He wrote many hit songs for other artists. Very underrated talent.
Also a Producer as well with bands like XTC.
todd Rundgren is a tragically underknown artist. Brilliant in every sense of the word.
If any song sounds like the early 70's, this is it.
Thanks for the unbelievable memories ❤

Todd played all of the instruments in this recording
The entire Something/Anything is a very, very rewarding listen. A 70s classic, must have!

I absolutely love this song, I love it when people review it. Thank You.
Todd !!!!!!! ❤
We loved Todd. Also check out Nils Lofgren who was associated with loads of bands. Great in his own right. And more Todd naturally.
I love Todd! My favorite musician and he is still writing and performing.❤❤❤

I have this album and love that false start. Most would have just cut it off, but it shows that people made this, not some perfect computer.

You can't forget "You Left Me Sore". 😂
@@stevemancuso9236 Good One, complete with opening chatter.
So agree with your choices!
It Wouldn’t Have Made Any Difference- great pick. You don’t see people mention that one often, but it is really a great song.
I'm Marlene, so of course I would add Marlena!
❤❤Still love this song after all these decades ❤❤
JM... If You had just one dime for every time this song was dedicated on radio.... Serious $$$$ Bucks
man what wonderful song reminder of good times

Love is the Answer with his band Utopia.
I'm so glad your turning yourself on to such great music.
I guess you know Todd raised Steven Tyler's daughter.....
Recorded LIVE... in The Good Old Days Of Classic Rock.
Todd is such an amazing artist the corporate suits tried to limit his creative ability but he was having none of that! a true pioneer in music! i still have this album!
Your Waiter is very glad you liked your tasty treat for the day. See you again the next time you drop in the Classic Rock/Classics Restaurant.
This gives me goosebumps still, 50 years on.
He is a top shelf producer as well.

He’s a great writer, musician and singer. Many have covered his inspiring tunes.
This song was everywhere when it hit!!
Todd is on a same level as Zov, they can do it all by themselves with virtuially any instrument.
Great song great reaction, you should check out the Isley Bros version
The Isley Brothers do a banging cover of this song. So does Mary J Blige.

…..well said 💪🏾
Fun fact: Todd played the blistering guitar solos on Meatloafs Bat Out of Hell. Also produced the album.
Interesting!
BTW.... This tune was/is quite popular... good numbers
I Saw The Light is a great song
Thanks
He plays every instrument on this double album. Listen to "Black Mariah" next.
Double album! First three sides are only Todd doing all voices and instruments. Fourth side is recorded live without overdubbing.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m of the understanding he played all the instruments on this song .
Excellent comments (as usual). Nailed it. A 'sorta' breakup song; yet trying to get some 'if you think I should' is lame. I guess he leaves it up to her. But isn't that always the case? Still a great vibe.

There's just something about this song...
What's the point in having a cake if you can't eat it.
Maybe it's about his daughter he can't be with
Unlikely. The song first appeared on the debut album by the Nazz, released in 1968 when Todd was only 20.
This song was written by Todd when he was 17 about his then girlfriend. Her father made her break up with Todd cause he had long hair.
