I agree; the High Five interchange is truly an engineering marvel; driving along I-635, in particular, allows drivers to get an excellent vantage point of just how spectacular of an interchange it really is. Besides the High Five, there's also a pretty cool mix of older and newer stack interchanges along the length of I-635. Overall, it's up there amongst my favorite urban freeways in the country.
I don't care if you're in L.A., Seattle, or Atlanta which I reside, Texas has the best thought out, planned, and executed highways in the U.S. This is coming from a Civil Engineer. Thanks for your videos.
I'm going to disagree with the boring comment, too. It's true that for the most part our freeways are not all dark and smooth and glistening and neat but they're anything but boring. We have pretty nice approaches to our business districts, our interchanges are the biggest in the world, and since they're so wide and heavily-trafficked they look awesome at night. And our rural freeways are, imo, more delightful than those in the Midwestm with rolling hills, forests, ranches, desertscape, etc.
wow i think i remeber in 2009 we went to dallas we got on southbound central expwy ramp to eastbound LBJ loop it wasent high like the other ramps but woow you got to be kidding its freaking awsome ps so like i told you on your facebook page so iits the LBJ toll which is gonna be the widest freeway in dallas not stemmons freeway
So I can't comment on your Austin video because TH-cam is telling me that it's "private" (even though I just saw it on your profile page). Just wanted to say, great job. Austin is my favorite city in the southern part of the country.
Cool video. I'm from the Arlington area so I recognized most of what was shown. Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this. (Perhaps one of Fort Worth could be made? )
Fear not. I've been doing field work out on the artery system of the Horseshoe interchange Improvement Design Build Project downtown over a two month period this year. That area is going to change very soon. It's going rougher driving that stretch in the coming years with construction.
I think the tolls will only be specially designated lanes, not the whole freeway. it's supposed to be similar to the HOT lanes on 91 in Cali or the HOT lanes that are being constructed along the Virginia side of the Beltway
Yup you're also right, but I never been with my car in Toronto, and I finally whould say that your highways are generally bigger than here. For true, highways in Montréal are not pretty large for our size of 4 Million peoples... so, Welcome trafficjam...
I highly doubt it. They're two engineering marvels on their own (the Autobahnen and the Texas Interstate Highway network), but one can't compare with the other. The Autobahnen are notoriously smooth and controlled to allow drivers to develop high speeds. Texas freeways are built to withstand (and optimize travel time for) more traffic than any other freeway network in the world, with concrete surfaces, lots of lanes, and high-capacity interchanges.
Hold the hell up!!! You mean they are making LBJ a tollroad from Central Expressway to I-35E????? You gotta be kidding me!! that has to be the most traveled part of Dallas!
@@Tatura. Ok Thank You! They’re Willing To Completed in Late 2024 635 East Like I-635, I-30 and US-75 Including Freeway 🛣, HOV Express Lane, Frontage and More on Mesquite,TX, Garland,TX and Dallas,TX!
LBJ from 35 E to the High 5 looks like Beirut right now but things are starting to take shape and excavation begins this summer on the depressed hot lanes....at $2.7 Billion it should blow the Katy Freeway out of the water and take its crown......

Looking at this vidro and seeing 635 now, Jesus Christ it's so unrecognizable, it's crazy to see how much an interstate can change in 13 years.
nice music, nice freeways, I love Dallas. I guess it can't get better than this! Thanks for the ride!

Dude That Interchange is incredible!

The stack is more impressive from US 75 though. And the ramp lengths... mindboggling! True Texas style and I love it!

A mix of great music and well done videos with magnific views! Im your fan dude!
I forgot what 635 looked like without the tollway
Great video all the way, and I loved the way you showcased the "High Five", that thing takes my breath away whether in person or video.
Texas has the best highway system!
I checked, and the signer is Norvegian.
Wow ! I'm totally bluffed ^^ What a nice highway and music ! Highways in USA are biger than here in Canada !
5 stars dude !
I consider dallas small now ahha after being here for too long.
NelichXCandii what area of. Dallas do you live in ?

I miss my those days driving on the highway.

Austin ain't the South. North east texas south east Texas and east texas is the south
Wait - but if Austin is south of northeast Texas, and north east Texas is the south -
Huh?
@wipandco Norwegian, actually.
Believe it or not, I thought it was Spanish at first.
I love the freeway videos.
Bella tusiudad natal Dallas
The freeway is now done and it is smooth as fk for motorcycle riding

4:10 Yes, that was a 5 level interchange. Thats why its named the High Five
Nice music Btw 🔥
The LBX Express is done and now We Walt to 635 East is done until 2024 or 2025.

assaultislove just look now
Exactly. They might not have any potholes on the autobahns, but they sure don't have any "high fives"
@skgw2010 Take that to the bank! It's nice to hear that an engineer approves our highway systems. Personally, I think they're great too.
Iselilja by The Blizzard with Gaate
I love it
Germany's authobhan is probably smaller than texas's interstate system lol and that's just come state with also a smaller population
Song in my language, norwegian. :)

Very good video, but the music is... weird. Is it Icelandic?
I pass 635 every time I go to work. The have started construction on the new 635 as we speak. It will be finished in 5 yrs!
Three
Lol
which famous people lives in dallas? whats music?
that high5 is nice!
Wonder how many people daily have Panic attacks on those narrow top ramps.
@ScrewdUPClickV2 Lol, I stand corrected! U are definitely right.
I think with this HIGH FIVE interchange we took a large crap on the ancient Romans in civil engineering
Hold the hell up!!! You mean they are making LBJ a tollroad from Central Expressway to I-35E????? You gotta be kidding me!! that has to be the most traveled part of Dallas!
well, if you still travel to I-635 between Central and I-35E, there’s new express lanes that are underground.
The interstate 635/interstate 30 interchange looks old
The interstate 635/US highway 75 high five interchange looks cool
They're currently renovating the 30/635 interchange in Mesquite.
@@Tatura. You’re right! They’re Building and Construction 🏗🦺 🚧 The New 635 East Project Correct?

@StayingBack71 Dude, I live in Dallas for my life and I still am afraid of the High 5 lol
this was recorded at actual speeds lol
Chinese are also building
@ScrewdUPClickV2 Germany could go toe to toe with the Autobahn
