Thanks Anthony! I love your video's, I'm getting ready to buy a Savile Row 3824 from Qedusa. I am looking forward to it. Its replacing a Parker. Keep the video's coming!!
Antony I like your shavemac custom and I'm thinking of getting myself one like yours. The handle is the #142 in the configuration and 26 mmknot with 60mm loft?Thank you, new in your channel and fan of your videos. Thank you for each one of them.
There are some silvertips that are top notch and don't break the bank. The razorock and the Deluxe shaving co. are two. The Deluxe is a 30mm monster silver tip that is heaven! and the Razorock chubbies and their HMW are a dream. All these brushes can be had for 59.99. And the handles are the best!!!
Bro, some day just say " I'm doing it " and for $131 experience the best brush !! Your love for this hobby, you deserve it !!!! Your face will love you !!!! ;-)
Sir, if you dont mind me asking, what is the exact model # of the #7 brush Thater silver tip and the #4 Thater 24mm brush ? Where can it be sourced in the USA ? Thanks, much appreciated.
#7 looks like the 'Heinrich L. Thäter Series 4125/2 I 26mm Finest Badger Silver Tip' ~$125 These vary in size between 22mm and 32mm(!) #4 looks like the 'Heinrich L. Thäter 4292/5 I 25mm Two Band Finest Silver Tip Bulb' ~$160 You can get Thäter brushes in the US from Straight Razor Designs, Maggard Razors, Bullgoose Shaving, RoyalShave, Fendrihan and possibly others. Here's their website -- www.badger-shavingbrush.com/
Howdy Anthony love your videos. Got a question for you. Whats your thoughts of the Simpson Chubby super badger brushes as they didn't get a mention in this video as I'm thinking of getting one? I've got a Savile Row 3124 and love the shit out if it just awesome. If you don't recommend a Chubby what super badger do you like? I do like the Thater as well. Cheers dude.
Thanks for the videos Anthony. You nick shaves and busta got me into wet shaving and making videos. Just waiting on a better camera. What do you think of synthetics?
I'm not a fan, I own a Plisson and have another one being built as we speak but there ok !! I'll take a Badger all day long but it's all just a personal preference Bro !!! Shave On Bro
Everyone is different, depends how much more backbone your talking !! Shavemac D01 2 Band has a lot of BACKBONE !! I don't think Thater 2 Band has that much Backbone personally !! Shavemac, is a much better choice, IMO !!!!
Sucks they changed your teams name. I really thought they only changed it to the WFT only for like a year till they think of a better name but it looks like they were serious about that name! 🤷🏼♂️
Hey Anthony I'm planning on getting my first silvertip and can't decide between Thater or Savile Row. The two brushes I have my eyes on are Thater's 49125/1 and Savile Row's 3124. Would appreciate your advice! One more question if you don't mind, what does 2 band and 3 band mean?
The brushes you are looking at are both great !! 2 Band simply means there's 2 Bands of color ( usually black and the tips are off white ), 3 Band simply means there's 3 Bands of color ( usually tan, brown and off white ) !!! With all that said, I'd buy the Savile Row !!!! ;-)
Thanks! I was sort of leaning towards the Savile Row over the Thater. Love the look of the handle and I hear the tips are a bit softer and has slightly more backbone. In honor of my first Savile Row brush I'll name it the stallion :) I refuse to join the Plisson club haha
Hey Anthony, I've thought about using a tub of The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver on my brushes. It does a great job cleaning and conditioning my sable watercolor brushes. I might try it on the cheap, old pure badger in my closet. The stuff also smells fantastic. I would use a shaving soap in that scent.
Lol... Thank u, oh wise one. Btw, I like my boar brush - just wanted to try something a lil softer and hold water a bit better....but didn't want to spend $100 tho. I know that may be asking much to purchase a badger but I figured if anyone may know of decent badgers out there for a good price, "The Stallion" would know. I dig ur vids too, Bro. I learn alot from u guys (Nick, Busta, Con, Geo, u). I appreciate the help.
+Anthony “The Stallion” Esposito Thanks bro. Excellent info. Btw, ur opinion on a decent badger to purchase (but one i wouldn't have to do any re-glue)? Something less than $100 (if even possible?) ? Thanks again.
+THEARTISTROMAN Again Bro, just kick in another $31 and get a Savile Row Silvertip and you will own the best !!! That's my opinion of course !!!! You won't regret it !!!!
Out of curiosity, what do you prefer about the Thater 2 Band to the 3 Band? I've got a 3 Band and it's my favorite brush, I like it more than my Savile Row. I've heard the 2 Band is a little less soft at the tips with more backbone from some users and from some other users I've heard the tips are the same in softness but the 2 Band still has more backbone. What do you think?
With me it's not just one component or one trait, it's hard to explain !! For me, I like balance !! Let's take Simpson for example, I believe there to densely packed, they have good backbone and there nice and soft but the flow through isn't great !!! I guess it's all subjective but I just like a perfect balance of Softness ( but not too soft ), Backbone ( but not too stiff ) and the Flow Through ( which is the big one for me ) !! There is nothing worse when you know there's lather in the brush but it won't let it go !!! I just feel that Savile Row and Thater 2 Band have that PERFECT balance for what I like !!! ;-)
The Thater 3 Band, IMO, is a little floppier than what I like !! Now don't take me wrong, I'm actually not calling it floppy, it's just off a little for what I like !!! Bro, with all 10 of these brushes the difference is very small but there none the less, and I'm picking up on the small differences !! And again, I can't stress enough, this is just MY OPINION !!!! I hope I explained myself ??? I just seem to believe that Savile Row 24mm knot is the absolute perfect balance of Softness, Backbone & that so important Flow Through !!!! ;-)
Anthony Esposito Gotcha, thanks for elaborating! And yeah, I know it's your opinion only but I like your opinions because many of your favorites are up there with mine. I agree with you on the Simpson's. The only Simpson I really love is my TSN M6 LE because it's actually got some flow through and isn't too stiff.
Jerry Ferguson The type of badger hair. Badger hair of 2 Band variety will have a black base and then white tips. 3 Band will have lighter base, then a black band, then the white tips. 2 Band hair is generally thicker with more backbone.
I watch all these shave den and top 10 and whatever videos and i just have to wonder what you all do for an occupation. If it wasnt for Christmas money, i wouldnt have had the haul i got this month. Must all be doctors and lawyers.
+Paul O Some people golf, collect wine, firearms, stamps, gamble.... Whatever you do, don't get caught up thinking you have to buy all of this stuff. I have 7 soaps that I love and can't live without and own 4 brushes that I love.
+Tony Marinelli I NEVER imply anyone needs to spend $1000's on gear to get a great shave !! I get just as excited about my shaves when I use a Gold Dollar and TOBS Cream as I do when I use a Filarmonica NOS and ADP !!!
Anthony Esposito By no means was I implying that you have said any such thing. In fact, I have heard you say just the opposite, that you don't need to spend thousands of dollars to get a good shave. Brother, you're golden with me, sorry if this was taken the wrong way.
AYO STALLION! ::bows:: Lemme ask u...i been wet shaving now for approx 6 months now..been using a boar brush (omega 16006?) and feel the need to step up to a badger. Asking ur professional opinion on an introductory badger brush, for a somewhat novice wet shaver, at a decent cost (is under $100 crazy to ask?). Please help me Ant Obi-Wan? Ur my only hope.
First off, I'm NO PROFESSIONAL !! LOL !!! Second, there's guys that LOVE boar brushes !! It's just what feels good to you but if you wanted to get a Badger for $100 or less, I'd recommend throwing in another $30 for a grand total of $131 and get either a Savile Row 3324 or 3824 and you'll have the best Badger Brush out there !!! LOL !!! That's just my opinion Bro !!!! Frank's Shaving makes some nice Badger Brushes as well for under $100, I have one (had to reglue the knot in but it's nice) !!!
Would be nice if you put links or at least full names of the brushes in the description.
Best regards
A great line up on brushes....Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Bro
Nice job Anthony! No surprises here! :)
;-)
Thanks Anthony! I love your video's, I'm getting ready to buy a Savile Row 3824 from Qedusa. I am looking forward to it. Its replacing a Parker. Keep the video's coming!!
Is the 3824 still your number one? Thanks Anthony.
3824 or 3324, both are AWESOME BRUSHES !!!
Great video dude. I'm in the UK . Any ideas where to buy a Savile Row ? Cheers
Antony I like your shavemac custom and I'm thinking of getting myself one like yours. The handle is the #142 in the configuration and 26 mmknot with 60mm loft?Thank you, new in your channel and fan of your videos. Thank you for each one of them.

Savile Row 24mm is TOPS
There are some silvertips that are top notch and don't break the bank. The razorock and the Deluxe shaving co. are two. The Deluxe is a 30mm monster silver tip that is heaven! and the Razorock chubbies and their HMW are a dream. All these brushes can be had for 59.99. And the handles are the best!!!
So jealous, I'd love to own a Simpson, or Thater or Saville Row, but on bricklayers money I have to make do 😢
Bro, some day just say " I'm doing it " and for $131 experience the best brush !! Your love for this hobby, you deserve it !!!! Your face will love you !!!! ;-)
Nice job Anyhony, although I hear Nathan Clark is fuming that he didn't make top 5
Is he ??
Only kidding! 😉

Simpson IMO, are too dense, the flow through on Simpson isn't great !!

I need to UPDATE this list !!!
haha I hear you every month my opinions change. Variety is the spice of life I guess.
Justin Billings I've got a few more brushes since this video !!
I like the savior row but I think I want more backbone what would you recommend? the thater 2 band bulb?
Everyone is different, depends how much more backbone your talking !! Shavemac D01 2 Band has a lot of BACKBONE !! I don't think Thater 2 Band has that much Backbone personally !! Shavemac, is a much better choice, IMO !!!!
Sucks they changed your teams name. I really thought they only changed it to the WFT only for like a year till they think of a better name but it looks like they were serious about that name! 🤷🏼♂️
Man! I don't even have enough brushes to do a Top 5 let alone 10. :)
;-)
You da man!! Savile Row 3824...Brush of the Gods! Looking forward to STM 2015 LE 3124 :)
Bro, it's the HOTTEST brush I've ever seen !!!!

***** your going to love it !!
Anthony... how do you care for your brushes? I want my savile row to last for years.
Main thing, RINSE REALLY WELL !!! The Ph in soap is biggest killer !!!
thanks!

IMO, there's some bad badgers out there, so don't judge all badgers by one !!!
Same with boars, I personally like Semogue 1305 for a boar !! I also took a SOC and had the loft lowered in a vintage Rubberset that's nice !!!
+Anthony “The Stallion” Esposito Thanks bro. Excellent info. Btw, ur opinion on a decent badger to purchase (but one i wouldn't have to do any re-glue)? Something less than $100 (if even possible?) ? Thanks again.

Is the Savile Row 3824 stiff enough for leg lathering?
Its fine for any lathering
+Anthony “The Stallion” Esposito great. I got on the waiting list.
I didn't know you like SR brushes haha
;-)

What's your view on synthetic brushes?
They have no SOUL !! Not for me !!!
your beard looks very silvertip I wonder if it is soft like my rooney
No Kent?
I'm not a fan, sorry Bro
Anthony Esposito its cool man, to each their own. I love mine, but the prices are pretty damn high.
Alexander Bryant I'll take a Savile Row or Thater over Kent
Anthony Esposito is that because of the handles or the bristles?
Alexander Bryant I'm all about the performance Bro
Badger is so lame once you try boar.
Badger is KING
Had to thumbs down for chewing gum in the video.
Had to thumb down your comment for being a little bitch
