lmfao noooo wayyyyy ...I'm 3rd generation Indian (from when my family came from Kolkata to Trinidad) and we're never allowed to slack off, forget about exam time, not even during the semester can I stay up past 12 without my parents asking me if I can't sleep why am I not studying. But its honestly never been a problem for me to study seeing as I love learning and always had a book of either mathematics (regular, addtitional, pure, applied), chemistry or biology in my hands since I was 3. I used to have to fight my parents to stay up and read a book. One experience I distinctly remember was when I had gotten a toy flashlight for the first time from a party bag and I used it out staying up for 3 nights in a row reading and ended up getting my books confiscated for a whole day. Let me tell you I cried and complained to my aajie (paternal grandmother) but was told to go play on the swing set or listen the bhajans playing on the cassettes. Instead, I sat in a corner and waited until the next day to ask for my books back.
