My new favorite breed. I used to train a Selle Francais, and when I saw this trot for the first time it actually moved me. Which is weird, it’s just an animation. But; this breed has long legs. Longer legs than any other warmblood, the french just likes legs on their horses. They’re SO bouncy. The highlights of this breed is the schwung of the trot and the wonderful uphill canter. Good job, Star Stable! I currently train a KWPN imported from the netherlands. She’s a young showjumping horse and has the same reddish coat as the new bay Selle Francais (when she isn’t sporting a full body clip practically down to her skin). She also moves VERY similarly - Note; Showjumper. I’m glad to finally have a horse so much like her in Star Stable. There’s no obscured differences between Star Stable’s 3 latest warmbloods. I’m impressed by how different they are, and how they’ve managed to capture characteristics unique to their breed. No simple task considering how blurred the differences between each warmblood can be. Safe to say, I’m happy.
This comment is awesome. Honestly, the Selles are awesome. Like you said, the gaits are true to character. I love how bouncy the trot is, it’s just a bit too stiff for me, lol.
@@CopleyOne Yep. Also like you said, how they can distinctly characterize warmbloods and still have them true to the actual breed is outstanding. Especially since warmbloods are so incredibly similar. I hope the American Saddlebred doesn’t disappoint!
I do think the back legs are a bit stiff and the full gallop from the side looks fine, but the bouncing ass in the back makes me laugh and cry at the same time 😅 Overall it’s not bad for a new Gen from the older models so it’s 9/10 for me.
I don’t think the trot is terrible. And for the fast gallop it’s a powerful gallop but yeah something with the back legs is off… it’s very stiff. And when it’s sped up for the faster gallop it just looks so bad imo. From the side it’s decent but the view from the back is so weird the legs like bulge out 😭
i dont really like the fast gallops in the new horses anymore like, I wish when the fast gallops were flowy and all in sync and now they are just off and bumpy and stiff
Game developer here. It took me awhile to form my opinion about the Selle. I like what they're trying to do, however.. I bought one and I was really impressed with the coat color. (The sooty buckskin) The animations definitely threw me off, like they did for most people. I totally agree with what you said about the animations being out of sync, they DEFINITELY are, but once I levelled the horse up and got it going a bit faster those animation faults seemed to vanish. I will say that something nobody has commented on is the level of animation. They appear to have completely redone their movement. There is movement on every part of the horse (including the belly, upper shoulder, upper bum, etc) that has not been previously seen on other horses. I noticed that the vast majority of horses in game don't have movement above the center of the horse. My point: THEY ANIMATED ALL THE MUSCLES. YAY! That being said, this was their first horse attempting this level of movement, and I would say it did pretty well.
watching this is refreshing after getting off the game seeing someone try force a club member to buy the black one because it was the "club horse and coat colour needed" and anytime someone told the girl to leave that club the other girl was like "shut up the black one is the best anyway after buying it she will love it"
This happens so much on my server. Like people not even in a club will try and force you to buy the breed THEY want. Like bro stop it. Its like 40 or so bucks for a horse.

@articice3184 oml same. The club was made so little ago. Like i understand certain coats are more desirable them mis matched ones. But they weren't even in the club yet, they were trying out. The owner was just bullying people you were getting close to the horses. Or the player trying to enjoy the coat they picked getting made fun of. Like my sc not yours. My poor Ardennes got made fun of in a show due to the coat color i picked. The amount of starter or non star riders i see get made fun of over coat colors is awful. Let people be. If we all use the same coat and horse it would make the game so boring.
i ran around looking for the horses in moorland the same way you did LOL that place is actually the very first place you start in the game with the first justin quests
i bought it thinking that the fast gallop wouldn't look as ridiculous but it bugs me so much it looks like its crippled or something from every angle i hate it omg
I got the bay one, and I thought it was soo wobbly at the beginning, but as I did more races and levelled up more, it decreased, and it became more stable. I do think that it feels different than other new models, but it's not bad, it's just different.
I'm glad you mentioned the gallop! I wasn't convinced I liked it at first, but after running around all day I'm in love with their gallop now. It's a bit goofy, but it feels so fluid and like you said - sporty! The bay has quickly become my favourite horse to race with for that reason. I just hope SSO fix the speed bug soon because I am losing these champs so hard lol.
i adore the coats (besides the chestnut thats just.. too saturated and perfect. like plastic), i felt it was a good mix of simple and complex i like the gallop even though its def odd i love the special move for the bounces, just wish they could ALL do that idk something about their movement is definitely odd. i do like the skittish animations though. gives them personality i think it'd be cool for sso to add pasture turnout or something? doubt they would because then we don't pay sc for stable slots but. id love to see a mechanic where you can see like 3 horses walking around, trotting, etc in a pasture. maybe even adding the laydown animation for all of them..
They feel so bouncy and happy, to me the gaits feel almost like the horse equivalent of skipping. I'm not an expert so I don't know if that's realistic but I love it anyways!! Riding this horse literally just feels like you're frolicking around happily it's sm fun
i personally love these horses, i agree they have a certain something about them that is unlike any other horse we have in the game. i like that they keep making horses unique to their breeds and selle's are known for being quirky and flighty so this definitely represents them!!
Something tells me your dream SSO horse would be a Dutch Warmblood that has the same steel gray coat as the Selle Francis you have. 😏 I agree the first few gaits of the Selle Francis horses look wonky, especially in the back legs. At the same time, I love that they have so much personality! My favorite is the sooty buckskin pinto.
OMG someone finally said something about the buckskin pintos face like I honestly love the coat, but there is something about the face that’s just off about it I don’t know what it is but I think it’s because like he doesn’t have a face marking and I feel like star stable, always over does the face markings on like every horse, but this one needs it 😂
They are super bouncy. I always notice that all the special gaits and such tie into the normal gaits. So them being bouncy could just be from there little jumps. I rate them a solid 8/10. 1. There legs are pretty stiff in the beginning. 2 they do the idle animation sooo much. 3. The coat variations are pretty bleak. The muti colored one is pretty but its face is off putting. The speckled one is adorable. 4. There super skinny and Scrony. There WHOLE body is animated. Like they animated all the mussels. The gaits may look goofy in the beginning but they kinda grow into it in the end. Lastly in my server people are already yelling at each other to buy only a certain coat. And you get yelled at for bouncing lol. I enjoyed your rateing. Sometimes people like watching other buy it first before they spend 40 or so bucks on a horse.
This!!! I would so much prefer riding a relaxed, happy looking horse in game. I just wanna run around and have fun on my horse who looks like it is also having a fun time with me. The stiff neck is the main reason I didn't get the Selle.
Ngl I had quite a different oppinion on gates. I feel like most of the gates are fine but I HATE fast gallop. It looks so frantic and like the horse is trying so hard yet is barely moving 😐 It's for sure my least favourite warmblood in the game. Belgian warmbloods remain as my favourite still
A shame it wasn't recording for you omg 😭 I'm still not liking the rear, and the gallops aren't the best either. They don't really stretch their legs out. And when you pointed out the back legs I could see how awkward they looked. They look like the bottom half of a person jogging or something 💀 Idk, I'm not sure if I regret buying this horse so quickly, despite telling myself that I would wait on them. I do agree that some colors are very repetitive and boring too. Also I remember someone on instagram was hoping sso would make the horses' jumps more realistic rather than just floating up into the air, which I can kind of see with this horse. And yeah, I agree about the new race too! There isn't much feedback to give because it isn't new in any way, shape, or form. Though the stone jumps with the hedge and purple are really horrid in my opinion lol. I really want there to be actual competitions though in this game! Where we have the option to watch others participate and also participate ourselves.
The walk is alright, the trot's nice, the CANTER I do have an issue with -- the neck is way too stiff, it looks like it's lame in one of the front legs. The extended canter is really nice, and the gallop is nice and flowy and COULD be really lovely, except for the fact that the front legs don't quite extend fully, they land slightly bent which looks very unnatural. All in all tho, solid horse
everyone in global was complaining and dissing the gallop but i think it looks so good and realistic. better than the belgian, even. the walk and trot is so bad tho and im glad im not the only one that noticed it. its literally just the back legs and i hoped they would have tweaked it before releasing but they didn’t
they're very pretty and cute but they're so fiddly when standing and the fast gallop is not my cup of tea with the rotating butt ..it could be cute like the Mustang animations but something's just off...but they're pretty sooo not regretting my buy x)
Ok to start the horses ass galloping is just something else. The legs look very stiff and are shaped a bit special the coats are boring but i’m glad they made a steal grey. Also just you wait till the weird rear the persons feet are like half way up the horses neck 😭. overall it’s giving frog but it is growing on me
the animations should have been worked on a little more in my opinion. like, make the walk more forward and swaying more. along with the trot. the trot should be more forward and have a bigger stride. the canter, fast gallop are both okay ish. the gallop should be spread out more. less box-like and more extended and forward. the rear is reused from the Belgian warmblood. and most of these animations feel reused from older models. star stable is working hard, but not hard enough on the animations.
I feel you about the chestnut coats they can be cute but idk man they're not exactly my favorite Also in regards to the selle's trot i saw people compare it to the gotland pony's trot animation and now i can't unsee it - those back legs do be kinda funky but I'll take it i suppose wats the name of the song in the bg i like wen u use it in these more chill videos it matches well lol i just cant seem to remember wat its called to find it
Owner of a chestnut mare IRL.....I share your chestnut opinion they are my LEAST fav coat color and yet MOST of the horses I have owned have been Chestnuts...oh and not just chestnuts but Chestnut MARES and I am a gelding person lol.
I do agree that they made this breed look a bit deerish. I think the Dutch warmbloods do look better and have better coat colors. I think the jump animation is probably better on the selle francais, but I’m not too impressed with them.
I am working on a horse game similar to Stardew Valley, but you're running a ranch instead of farming. I was wondering if you thought there was enough demand from the community to accept a top-down 2d pixel art game focused around horses? Almost every game I see is 3d and really focuses around the riding of the horses.
I bought the steel grey as well and I think it's super cute, but there is just something....weird...about the way it moves. I cannot put my finger on it and I can ignore it if I'm just going about my daily business, but something is off. So disappointing since I feel like the last couple horses have been pretty decent in the animation department, but then we get this. Also I was super disappointed about the refusal thing as well. I was half hoping it'd end up like other games where you get a refusal if you try to jump too close or too far, but nah. I had my hopes too high lol.
the horses do refuse in the race BTW, but it’s very random and i think it might depend on the horses level/stats and players level/stats i did the race 3x with my level 2 selle and it refused twice , and i did it again 3x with my max Dutch warm blood and there was no refusal lol
tbh, star stable tends to make great looking horses, but when it comes to the animations it makes me *not* wanna get them anymore LMAO. they need to fix some of them because if u got a horse running around like that irl, people might think you're feeding it food that dislocates its poor legs ☠
I love everything about these horses except the animations and I literally never understood people complaining about certain animations before until now... I can't stand how bouncy and distracting the fast gallop is my rider is flopping around 😭 the back legs are so weird idk what it is
the timer for the show jumping is so short like i have to basically gallop the whole time like can i not just do a relaxed canter or trot i know its sso but damn 😭 lol
on my server, the only one ive seen people riding is the buckskin. like, were we all *that* starved for a buckskin that doesnt look like a whole ass block of yellow cheese or something lmao
I like the selle francias, but some of they're gaits do bother me. Like they're trots, it looks like a chicken to me. But i really love they're slow gallop. And they're pretty well designed horses. And i definitely dont regret buying mine hes like the only horse i really ride anymore lol.
2:11 Yeah well... thats cuz i want to hear your opinion to help me decide. not as like yours matters more than mine, but because you point everything out and it makes it easier to decide and then later on be happy with the horse instead of seeing something you would have pointed out in the video and then not liking the horse. you basicaly point out everything good and wrong with the horse and it makes it easier to develop my own opinion as you explain where you are comming from as well.
I like all of them but they aren’t my favorites. I think we’re getting new coats for the equestrian festival so I’ll probably wait to get one after I see those.
I used to play SSO on a non gaming laptop, it had 4gb ram and it was ok but did have some lag. You can play SSO for free for a few days too, maybe just try and see if it works

What really throws me about this horse is the idle. It is just too jumpy, and for me a horse idle shouldn't be that animated when just standing around. It would have been better as an extra move or something. I just can't buy this horse and sit on it jumping around like that, even if the horse breed itself is a bit "animated" in it's irl movement. If the SSO Selle Français did dressage, it would lose many points because of all that jumping about.

I almost got the blood bay or pinto but I hated the mane styles. I wanted a long natural mane, but for some reason, they edited it for this model and it looks stringy and pathetic.
Dude, the back legs in almost every animation (especially fast galopp!) are really awkward. I really like the look of it, they did a nice job but this is just bad... And also whyyy is the neck so stiff???? Also no horse would naturally hold its head so stiff and high when resting... Somebody please explain? If they fix this stuff, I'll buy one.

Tbh the fast gallop looks great for the selle. It is very stiff, same with Dutch warmblood’s. Something is off about the trot though I hate it

I have the same issue with lag. GTA , red dead, the isle, POT, all on highest graphics with 60+fos. Star stable? Lowest settings, 15 frames 😭

Owner of a chestnut mare IRL.....I share your chestnut opinion they are my LEAST fav coat color and yet MOST of the horses I have owned have been Chestnuts...oh and not just chestnuts but Chestnut MARES and I am a gelding person lol.

I do agree that they made this breed look a bit deerish. I think the Dutch warmbloods do look better and have better coat colors. I think the jump animation is probably better on the selle francais, but I’m not too impressed with them.

I am working on a horse game similar to Stardew Valley, but you're running a ranch instead of farming. I was wondering if you thought there was enough demand from the community to accept a top-down 2d pixel art game focused around horses? Almost every game I see is 3d and really focuses around the riding of the horses.
I bought the steel grey as well and I think it's super cute, but there is just something....weird...about the way it moves. I cannot put my finger on it and I can ignore it if I'm just going about my daily business, but something is off. So disappointing since I feel like the last couple horses have been pretty decent in the animation department, but then we get this.
Also I was super disappointed about the refusal thing as well. I was half hoping it'd end up like other games where you get a refusal if you try to jump too close or too far, but nah. I had my hopes too high lol.
the horses do refuse in the race BTW, but it’s very random and i think it might depend on the horses level/stats and players level/stats
i did the race 3x with my level 2 selle and it refused twice ,
and i did it again 3x with my max Dutch warm blood and there was no refusal lol
tbh, star stable tends to make great looking horses, but when it comes to the animations it makes me *not* wanna get them anymore LMAO.
they need to fix some of them because if u got a horse running around like that irl, people might think you're feeding it food that dislocates its poor legs ☠

I love everything about these horses except the animations and I literally never understood people complaining about certain animations before until now... I can't stand how bouncy and distracting the fast gallop is my rider is flopping around 😭 the back legs are so weird idk what it is

I like the selle francias, but some of they're gaits do bother me. Like they're trots, it looks like a chicken to me. But i really love they're slow gallop. And they're pretty well designed horses. And i definitely dont regret buying mine hes like the only horse i really ride anymore lol.
They give me baby vibes, I think it is cuz they have such gangly and wiggly bodies and legs adore mine though lmao🤣

2:11 Yeah well... thats cuz i want to hear your opinion to help me decide. not as like yours matters more than mine, but because you point everything out and it makes it easier to decide and then later on be happy with the horse instead of seeing something you would have pointed out in the video and then not liking the horse. you basicaly point out everything good and wrong with the horse and it makes it easier to develop my own opinion as you explain where you are comming from as well.
I like all of them but they aren’t my favorites. I think we’re getting new coats for the equestrian festival so I’ll probably wait to get one after I see those.
I hope they are become the fastest horse in game cause they should be with that gallop and jump.

I used to play SSO on a non gaming laptop, it had 4gb ram and it was ok but did have some lag. You can play SSO for free for a few days too, maybe just try and see if it works

What really throws me about this horse is the idle. It is just too jumpy, and for me a horse idle shouldn't be that animated when just standing around. It would have been better as an extra move or something. I just can't buy this horse and sit on it jumping around like that, even if the horse breed itself is a bit "animated" in it's irl movement. If the SSO Selle Français did dressage, it would lose many points because of all that jumping about.
Honestly its weird to me that noone pointed out their rear (and probably hard stop idk) being the exact same as the bwb. Like bro.. sso, you could at least change it slightly?
I love the recent warmbloods , from the Belgian , Dutch and now the selle Francis they are the most realistic sso has come out with.
I almost got the blood bay or pinto but I hated the mane styles. I wanted a long natural mane, but for some reason, they edited it for this model and it looks stringy and pathetic.
I always want a long natural mane on my horses. They should really make more long mane styles it would make me so happy

Dude, the back legs in almost every animation (especially fast galopp!) are really awkward. I really like the look of it, they did a nice job but this is just bad... And also whyyy is the neck so stiff???? Also no horse would naturally hold its head so stiff and high when resting... Somebody please explain? If they fix this stuff, I'll buy one.
