Camelot is the poetry associated with the reality. It is the marriage of reality and idealism. A beautiful creation that will never be forgot. There will never be one like that again. But RFK Jr. is doing what he was destined to do- breathe life into that time to create a Camelot of the 21st Century that will never be forgot.
We're coming up on the 60th anniversary. I've always hated that "Camelot" reference. It has zero to do with JFK's Presidency, aside from the fact that the play Camelot was popular back then.
It goes deeper than that. It was one of JFK’s favorite musicals. Mrs. Kennedy claimed he played it a lot on a record player before he went to bed. He loved the final song which had the lyrics “Don’t let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief and shining moment, that was known as Camelot”. In many ways, those lyrics can symbolize Kennedy himself. A lot of people at the time felt that way as Camelot had been a big hit.
I remember Disney's Camelot. I remember dead Disney associates Camelot. I don't remember Kennedy's Camelot ever being built. Kennedy Camelot... Disney camelot...
Why didn't he stop himself from going? It was entirely his decision. He was warned by many sources, and knew many people and groups were out to get him. He was not known for listening to warnings very often although he did avoid Chicago after a man named "Lee" called the Secret Service and warned them there were assasisnation plans in Chicago. Read JFK and the Unspeakable: why he died and why it matters by J. Douglass. The FBI and Secret Service assured him they had it under control. He had guts.
No. 1 President in the world forever.... Huge loss for the whole world....
