  • Kravice falls are just a short 30-40 minute drive outside of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 80ft tall falls form a semicircle around a pool that is perfect for swimming and splashing, even for kids. It is a popular spot for day trips from Mostar, Dubrovnik, and Split. If just coming for a day trip from Croatia, it can be combined with Mostar and Blagaj, but I recommend spending a night in Mostar.
We drove in from Baska Voda on the Makarska Riviera, stopping at Kravice Falls on our way to Mostar. It was the perfect pit stop for the boys to get out, have a snack, and spend some time splashing in the falls.
In the summer, a few local restaurants set up little stands where you can buy lunch, a snack, or a drink. We had the cevapi, a very popular local dish of little sausages in flatbread, which has now become one of our favorite foods. The water and falls were calm enough for the kids to play around in the pools and climb on the rocks under the falls.
It’s a pretty popular swimming spot for both locals and tourist to spend hot summer afternoons. But, if you are coming from nearby Croatia, the crowds are much smaller. And, we liked the falls better than Krka.
