- This tutorial shows one of the ways to scale a model from an arbitrary to a real world scale.
In order to do this, you need to have a reference measure taken on the real object. It will be used to calculate a scaling factor to bring the model to the desired unity of measure.
Thank you man! I use the same technic, but not knew about CTRL+H. A big hug.
Really good tutotial, thanks!
Thanks for the clear process and description. Meshlab is pretty cool!
Thank you! I couldn't find that menu item to save my life... The menus in Meshlab are pure insanity.
Build by nerds without UI knowledge ;)
Thanks, this was helpful. 👍
nice video! FYI: the short key on Mac is " Shift + Command + H "
Thanks for the explanation. It was quite informative.
Thank you for this tutorial, it is very helpful!
I wanted to ask you is it possible to determine specific angles on a 3D model using Meshlab? because i can't seem to find this information anywhere
What a helpful video!
When I press 'control H ' on my iMac the programme closes - I was trying to view the model that had been made 3000 times bigger by the scaling factor. Is control H a mac instruction or PC - what is the mac equivalent.
Keep up the good work!
Jonathan
+Jonathan Sandler the short key on Mac is " Shift + Command + H "
Can you rotate the model while measuring? The only clean surfaces i have to measure between cant be seen using the same camera angle, thus I cannot measure the distance
Thank you for your effort. I would like to know if we can make a best fit plan to measure from it?
Can MeshLab create screen image icons of the OBJ file so there is something quick to preview what the Obj is in Windows Explorer ?
Hello Mister P, nice video, can you explain me, how to import and then after edit export mesh to original coordinates?
Hello Mr P. Meshlab,
What is the linear unit of measurement that the Meshlab takes?.
Best regards
Adrian
Hello Mister P.
Is it possible that you provide the files for some of the tutorials as links in the video descriptions?
Thank you,
Nicolas
Hi! Can you use XYZ-coördinates from certain points to scale a model to real life measurements?
Your videos are AMAZING!
just make sure you make a . (DOT) in the scaling number. not a , (comma)
the object just disappers when using a comma. never to be found again!
happend to me since I use the german QWERTZ keyboard.
thank you so much for this comment! I didnt even consider that could be the problem and spent a lot of time trying to figure out what i did wrong
Well fuck me. Thank you so much for this. Ive been struggling with finding the model after resizing
Before getting the scale factor, should not the model be in orthographic view?
That was truely easy;) Can you already say when your next upload on scaling will be? There is no way of scaling without real-world measurements, right?
Very instructive video. Thanks!
Hey, your tutorials are really good, I would like to transfer a texture from a model to another, how can I do that ?
Thanks !
Why doesnt this app have basic views like any other 3d software?! front, back, left, right, top, bottom?!?!
thanks bro.
Dnag why is he explaining it sooooo sllloowwwlllyyy... is he showing this to kindergarten or so? He also forgets what scale the document or file has as a standard.
What a wack program, he clearly show a major bug!
