My parents bought loads of goodtime Vhs tapes thinking it was disney. They didn’t know the difference. So yea, that’s my childhood -also I still remember the lyrics to their song. It’s a good song lol-

And to be fair it's a really nice version of the story. The Disney live action version actually used some of the same story beats as this version did, which I really found surprising.

Dude, Goodtimes' bread and butter was releasing cheap versions of the stories Disney put out--they've done it tens of times and purposely released their versions around the same time Disney did to fool customers in the direct-to-video market. The only reason they didn't do that with this one is because Disney's came out in 1950 and obviously predated Goodtimes as a company by decades. Technically, they did it legally because it was based on the public domain source material but don't kid yourself, they made this 100% to capitalize on Disney popularizing the story in the first place. Again, adapting Cinderella isn't the problem. Tons, and I mean TONS of movies and books have done the same, but this version is just soulless and obviously had little effort put into it. Sorry if you grew up with it, but that was the kind of company Goodtimes was.

But after some digging on Google, I found out that I had an audio cassette with this song and other kids songs on it that I used to listen to often during long car rides. It was called "OLD McDONALD'S FAVORITES" and the songs included were: Old McDonald's Farm / Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush / We're A Team / Dream On Cinderella / Simon Says / Home On The Range / Start With A Smile / Polly Wally Doodle / Picinic Song / Kookaburra / Poison Ivy / Who Stole The Cookie From The Cookie Jar. MYSTERY SOLVED! Now back to the review :)
Well, how do I put this? Goodtime's Rudolph had a heavily flawed plot, the villains were actually in the right (with their rage and actions justified) and they spent a lot of their budget on celebrity voices like Gene Simmons and Whoopi Goldberg. Which left the animation choppy and repeated in a number of places. And the human-like characters are very multi-ethnic, which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but when the struggles are about conformity and being bullied for not being like everyone else, it kinda clashes. Truly, it was Norm of the North before Norm of the North. But hey, if you like Goodtimes, that's perfectly fine.
My little sister used to watch this on DVD every night. However, she would fall asleep before the movie ended. So the DVD would go back to the title where they played that god awful song. Worst of all no one would be bothered to get out of bed to sort it. And now the words "dream on Cinderella" haunts my childhood. True story

I really liked the opening song , and that “where have you been song” & found the movie it comedic (probably not for the intended reasons) I hated everythig else by goodtimes though lol
i love how this Cinderella has like a hiding place for her special things in the box behind the three bricks she has to pull it out to make a space and then insert those bricks back to make it the same. 😂😂😂 the fire sound in the fireplace is also satisfying asf.
How come there are boring scenes with cat chasing mice for like a half of the film. And they have annoying squeeky voices. Meh at least this version is more focused on Cinderella. Also this Cinderella have more character in my opinion. I only liked a film about her arranging a royal bal because focus was on her not mice and cat.

To be honest, though, the Disney one never really addressed how Cinder-ella got her nickname (do we even know it's a nickname in the Disney version?), whereas this version actually shows her sleeping by the fireplace... so that's something this version has going for it, despite being a low budget film.
chad... i highly suggest that you review dingo pictures movies. they are the worst disney knockoffs i've seen and some of the lines are so bad they're funny. same goes for the animation.

I love to see you review The Last Unicorn or The Princess and the Goblin. They are not knock-off movies, but are rather really good hidden gems of movies. I loved them as a child.

This version has a special place on my heart because it was my favorite movie when me and my sister were little. Looking back on it, older, and with more experience in storytelling, I can see its flaws, but it has more strengths than you gave it credit for. I liked the duet between the prince and cinderella. I think it gives a sense of them actually caring that the Disney version lacks. I can admit that most of the reason I liked it when I was younger was the bright colors and details, but it has its merits. Dream on Cinderella is a good song, anyhow.
I would love it if you review one of the Barbie movies. They're relatively trash, but have some great moments. I'd recommend Barbie Princess and the Pauper, the love story is okay and the music is pretty good, but it has just enough ridiculous moments that would be worthy of a video
I think he should review the Magic Slippers. I really do not like that one because of it's message which is the exact opposite of what ballet is about, from my understanding of it.

Based on how the movie looked in the review.. I might actually like this movie ó.0 The songs to me were nice. The song about girls should dream isnt bad because they did add the part that her dad became wealthy from hard work. Plus, i like the artstyle. It's appealing.
As someone whose parents bought them the knockoff little mermaid, the only thing i liked about it as a kid was the opening number... i can assure you, i did not have a goodtime watching that film...
My family sent me the Polish dub of the Little Mermaid knockoff when I was a child, bless their heart. Even then I thought her head was... abnormally large.
Love the fact that the score "mother knows best" is playing in the background at the begining and end. It would have been even better if skellingbones started singing his own rendition of it XD
I actually have a lot of nostalgia for this movie! It came with a castle and Polly Pocket sized Cinderella and the prince. It was so fun to see it again, great video!

Honestly, this one seems pretty... inoffensive compared to the knockoff stuff. It's the exact same story, just with more mediocre animation, sound, and songs. Nothing really seemed to deviate much from the Disney movie. Kinda just a boring thing to review, I guess is what I'm saying (especially since the original story is also pretty trash). Although, it's hard to shake The Legend of the Titanic from my mind, so maybe I just have a high standard for knockoff stuff. THAT movie is a trainwreck knockoff if there ever was one. Just be prepared to be compared to Jontron if you review it, though.

chad... i highly suggest that you review dingo pictures movies.
they are the worst disney knockoffs i've seen and some of the lines are so bad they're funny. same goes for the animation.

I love to see you review The Last Unicorn or The Princess and the Goblin. They are not knock-off movies, but are rather really good hidden gems of movies. I loved them as a child.
Jeetaruey the princess goblin was my childhood! Every one else in my family seemed to hate it but I loved it! I thought that I was alone!

I actually really liked a lot of the Goodtimes movies, and to be honest, this Cinderella rendition is actually really decent in my opinion.

This version has a special place on my heart because it was my favorite movie when me and my sister were little. Looking back on it, older, and with more experience in storytelling, I can see its flaws, but it has more strengths than you gave it credit for. I liked the duet between the prince and cinderella. I think it gives a sense of them actually caring that the Disney version lacks. I can admit that most of the reason I liked it when I was younger was the bright colors and details, but it has its merits. Dream on Cinderella is a good song, anyhow.
I appreciated the Single Ladies joke, but then again,, I appreciate any reference to that song.
I would love it if you review one of the Barbie movies. They're relatively trash, but have some great moments. I'd recommend Barbie Princess and the Pauper, the love story is okay and the music is pretty good, but it has just enough ridiculous moments that would be worthy of a video

I think he should review the Magic Slippers. I really do not like that one because of it's message which is the exact opposite of what ballet is about, from my understanding of it.

The songs to me were nice. The song about girls should dream isnt bad because they did add the part that her dad became wealthy from hard work. Plus, i like the artstyle. It's appealing.

As someone whose parents bought them the knockoff little mermaid, the only thing i liked about it as a kid was the opening number... i can assure you, i did not have a goodtime watching that film...
My family sent me the Polish dub of the Little Mermaid knockoff when I was a child, bless their heart. Even then I thought her head was... abnormally large.

Or a style that can't seem to decide between 70s shoujo anime, especially on Cinderella, and western TV cartoon style.
Honestly, this one seems pretty... inoffensive compared to the knockoff stuff. It's the exact same story, just with more mediocre animation, sound, and songs. Nothing really seemed to deviate much from the Disney movie. Kinda just a boring thing to review, I guess is what I'm saying (especially since the original story is also pretty trash).
Although, it's hard to shake The Legend of the Titanic from my mind, so maybe I just have a high standard for knockoff stuff. THAT movie is a trainwreck knockoff if there ever was one. Just be prepared to be compared to Jontron if you review it, though.

This brings back good memories. My dad used to put on the Good times Cinderella for me all the time and I remember being little and adoring that movie.
