My Dad's friend was on the South Korean Rescue chopper the same chopper that rescued some of the Sewol survivors. Months after the Sewol sank the Rescue chopper crashed landed near apartments I had no idea my Dad's friend was on the chopper, all 5 crew were killed it reminded from movie Stand By Me Gordie's friend Chris was killed. The movie will always reminded when a friend lost their friend and never forget in anyone's mind but we all know the sadness will never go away but for now it sometimes just we had to let go and move on. When Sewol raise up to the surface during salvage seeing her coming out of the water as a modern ghost ship and it still gets to anyone. Looking the images and videos of the wrecked ferry it feels like their spirit are still inside the wreck ferry that didn't get the chance to get out and we won't forget that disaster on April 16th 2014 may lay rest to the victims.
Oh my goodness! Rest in peace to your friend's father, that is so incredibly sad. I already thought the death surrounding the rescue was sad and surprising but that is just horrific. I love Stand By Me! That movie always gets to me 😭 I'll never look at it the same way. I agree - seeing that ship brought back up sent a shiver down my spine. Knowing people died on board and there were remains when the ship was raised is just so eerie. Also, thank you so much for your love and support for the victims! ❤️
Unreal how many captains and officers just drop their duties and honor at the first sign of trouble. Gone are the days of captains reminding their officers and passengers to "Be British" while rowing away from them to safety.
The more I learn about this tragedy, the more I can't help but suspect that it was deliberate. I realize how far fetched that sounds, but considering all the things that happened before the incident as well as what happened during it, I'm not convinced it wasn't intentional.
Lee is definitely the worst captain. He actually broke the law set by government, (required to stay on the ship until all passengers are off). Others were breaking technically a tradition or law set by Coast Guard (ie have an evacuation plan and guide the crew to rescue the boat). Don't face repercussions unless person dies or is Injured.
I wonder if you can do seaescape cruises next. Their ships had "not so mysterious" fires in the mid-late 1980s and in the 1990 the ship named scandinavisn star became the climax of their methods...
In the big picture It was an insurance scam run by seaescape. Scandinavian star was bought on paper for 21.5 million dollars. Then insured for 24. On paper it was only wort 10.8 The deal with 21.5 was as fake as fake...
I think this crew is the worst in recorded history. There would have been less deaths if they'd done absolutely nothing and just abandoned the passengers. Their actions not only didn't help save lives but actively increased the death toll IMO ALLEGEDLY
Thanks again for the content
Thanks so much!!
"A tragic story, the most haunting aspect for me when it comes to the wreck, is the fate of those poor students. Exelent Video Once again miss 😁 👍🏽

I think there always is the possibility!
Good Job on a sad , Subject, 👍 Elinor RIP to all
Thank you so much! This one definitely made me so angry with how mishandled much of this story was. Cheers!

That's very true! It's pathetic that he told the passengers to stay in their cabins and didn't even try to evacuate them.
I wonder if you can do seaescape cruises next.

I'd love to do another cruise line controversies episode! I'll have to look into that! Thank you!

Okay!
(1) I did not know Israel had Submarines and (2) Why an Israeli Sub be in Korean Waters?
Edit: WAIT! She still hasn't been scrapped?
Right? I'm confused about that too!
