I saw Judd Hirsch perform on stage in London in a play once. He's a true actor. Brilliant performance to the core. Deeply truthful. I'm so lucky to have seen him acting live.
Was the show "Art," by any chance? My wife and I saw him in that. Later we rode the elevator with him to the bar across the street, and my wife spoke to him. I just stared at the elevator door, to be polite the way folks do where I come from, and since I didn't turn around, I had no idea who the guy was. Good thing really, because I wanted to ask him what Marilu Henner is like in bed.
@TheRandomView I saw him on my first visit to NYC in a 2-man play called "I'm Not Rappaport". It was off-Broadway in an intimate little playhouse. So awesome!
Judd Hirsch must sleep in a time capsule. This guy looks like he aged 20 years in the last 50. He's just as amazing today as an actor as he was back then.
Agreed. I like actors of all ages but the 50 & up group are always my favorite guests. They’re almost always the funniest and most interesting to listen to. It’s just a shame that some rarely (if ever) do talk shows.
Judd Hirsch is almost 88 years old and he looks and sounds amazing! Honestly, I looked him up on Google because I thought "what a sexy guy!". Well done you!
wow..... I am so happy that I got the chance to see this. I LOVED Taxi... and he reminded me of my grandfather who drove a taxi in Wichita Kansas... I would always watch any series he was in and now at 87??? I will seek out this show... I never knew he was 22 years older than me.
I’ve always liked Judd Hersch but how have I never seen him interviewed before? He’s hilarious! And he was so good in Fablemans. I’m gonna have to finally watch Taxi.
@@marywood8794 The whole movie balances humor with pathos. It's very heartfelt but also entertaining. Judd Hersch has one scene (right in the middle), but it's a funny, passionate, and (probably) oscar worthy performance. And then, the movie sticks the landing with one of the greatest cameos of all time at the very end. It's really a delightful film about family and art.
I saw that movie ’The Law,’ in junior high school. Probably for civics class. I remember it being really good & I especially remember Hirsch’s performance.
That man right there is the most spritely and energetic 87 year old I think I've ever seen. If you told me he was 67, I'd just go 'cool'. Whatever you do Mr Hirsch, bottle it!
Love the old skool dudes..that made me laugh just when i needed a real genuine laugh. Makes you realise how fake everything has become when i see the OG s of television who made it in the business in such funny ways.Great one Judd ❤
@@darkgotham3449 haha very funny but in a way you're right there's some young adults that are very tired-looking. They may not have gray hair yet but their behavior makes them look very old.
If you'd asked me when I was kid how old Judd Hirsch was on Taxi, already a classic then, I'd have said 80 which means now he's 120. Funny how everyone seems ancient when you're a kid. This guy's just consistently cropping up in delightful places my whole life.
You know what would have been incredible? If, during the interview, Danny DeVito had walked onstage. Come on producers; you should have made it happen.
Danny DeVito stands above them all. I believe his longevity is a result of showing up early for work, knowing his lines and marks and being truly willing to go along with any changes, large or small, in the script. And I have a feeling he is a nice guy in real life too so you have someone that directors, producers, crew, castmembers, and probably even neighbors all have a kind word to say about. I believe he will go the way of Gandolfini: A nice Italian meal followed by a massive heart attack. I'd like to know he passed quickly.
He looks fantastic for his age. I think the fact he hasn't gotten scrawny and is wearing a modern outfit and has lots of hair. His voice is the same and he's so sharp mentally..
One of my favorite Judd Hirsch projects growing up was The Halloween That Almost Wasn't AKA The Night Dracula Saved The World. It was usually paired with Witch's Night Out on ABC during Halloween. Unfortunately, the company that owns the copyright is gone, so it is technically an orphaned work and will never get a proper restoration and digital release.
@@Alex-zi1nb Not unless someone who owned the original company is still alive to purchase the company and its assets from. You can find it on VHS and people have uploaded it to TH-cam, but orphaned rights mean the copyright holder technically no longer exists but still owns the copyright.
@@sahej6939 it is definitely kid friendly. It is a bit dated, but I think kids would still love it, minus a cultural understanding of the disco party at the end.
i liked him in Dear John, the way he held that together without being the most interesting bit of it. He sold me on it and the rest of the characters just played off of each other.
I could listen to Judd Hirsch stories all night. What a fascinating and interesting life he has.. Great interview.
and still having!

That’s nothing, I once saw a community theatre performance of Romeo and Juliet where the actor playing Mercutio never turned up

This is one of the few actors I am always glad to see in any show, movie, series. He has been this age for... ages.
That was delightful. I’ve been a fan of Judd Hirsch since taxi. He always delivers. And I’ve never heard these stories. Thank you.
Taxi was magic. They caught lightning in a bottle, and Judd Hirsch was the magnificent straight-man/quarterback of that group of mad genius clowns.
Taxi had a lot of no names on that show and became stars
That other show he was in was awesome too where he's divorced and goes to night school

I LOVED watching Taxi re-runs with my family when I was growing up.
