Nice fella. A bit frustrating but you persevered with it. Thanks for feeling the pain so I didn't. My spare/back up stove is the Dragon Gel stove, smaller version of the old Hexy Burners we used to get issued back in the day. Seems to work well but I have never tried it with liquid gel. Maybe you have inspired a short film there. As always thanks for taking the time. Cheers Sel
First off nice shed man! Neat, compact, just what you want mate. Yeah I would have to do away with that gel, like you say it’s way too hard to light. Swapping it out make total sense mate. Another helpful video from you buddy, keep them coming.
Hopefully it is just part of their learning process and they will sort it out. The way it burns looks like alcohol based and in my experience alcohol has always been one of the easiest fuels to ignite. The recipe for alcohol gel is quite open and out there so I reckon it should be an easy fix.
Very good, Very well presented Andy ,, I also like this kit , I've not had chance to field test it ,, the Exogel indoors ,ideal conditions, still no boil mmmmm , hexamine tab would of done it ,, Very good point on removing items and replacing them ,, I personally purchased 2 of these , and with a closer look ,I'd ditch the gel ,, great video mate
Coglans hexi £2/3 for 24 tablets 20mm tablets Blackscamping always seem to have em easy to store obviously the purchasers are field testing and finding the failures will be interesting to see if they reply piss poor if you ask me the stove looked like an esbit ration pack stove been better off including the Russian variant strikable fuel tablets
Be interesting to see how normal hand sanitizing gel would work in comparison to this Exogel nonsense. I'd imagine that hand sanitizer gel would also be air travel friendly and it would double as a first aid/hygiene item as well.
could you swap the exo gel for fire dragon gel by emptying out the exo gel and then adding in the fire dragon gel?? if this has not been done I can test it
Meth spirit is liquid, one litre of water or one ltr of fuel weigh's one kg, so if i'm carrying 2 litre's of water and 1 litre of (wet) fuel for my stove. that's already 3 kg's in my back pack. whats the point?? i would rather carry water than wet fuel in my rucksack over long distance, Bushcraft Essential stoves are designed to use multi fuels, hence twigs, moss and dry litter you can find in any woods in the UK
Another great video Andy you gave it a couple of chances looking forward to the next video 👍👍👍
thank you for commenting Atb Andy

Thank you for your comment. Atb Andy
Good review and heads up, always important to know what to expect, until the upgrade a couple of Hexi Blocks might be worth the space. ATB
yes i agree, lets see if the company gets back to me, or will they save face and shy away?

better of putting a few hexi tabs in the kit instead, ... that gel is useless,
