Cheesecake should never be bland and it shouldn't have toppings to be complete, it should be able to stand alone but enhanced by a topping. The topping is usually there to hide the flaws in the top crust, but a ban marie would eliminate the need for that.

I’ve been to several countries but for me New York cheesecake is THE best dessert in the world. Addictive.
I have never been to NYC but I was always been told Juniors is THE standard.
